The transfer apparatus includes a transfer ring with first ring segments and a frame that extends in a circumferential direction about a central axis for holding the first ring segments in first angular positions distributed in the circumferential direction along the frame, wherein the first ring segments are movable relative to the frame in a radial direction from a first radial distance to a second radial distance from the central axis that is smaller than the first radial distance. The transfer apparatus further includes a first rolling device that is positionable in a second angular position interposed between the first angular positions, and a second ring segment that is positionable in the second angular position at the second radial distance from the central axis.
Transfer Ring Shoe and Transfer Ring With Reduced Air Entrapment Features
A transfer ring for use in the manufacture of vehicle tires comprises a radially expandable and collapsible segmented gripping surface defined by a plurality of transfer ring shoes, each shoe having an inwardly-facing surface mounted for movement toward and away from a central axis of the cylindrical gripping surface. Each inwardly-facing surface has first and second side edges. Each side edge has a central portion configured to be substantially parallel to a central portion of the other side edge and forms a mid-portion therebetween. Each side edge has first and second tapered portions on opposite respective ends of the central portion. Each tapered portion extends outward from the corresponding central portion and toward a tapered portion of the other side edge. The tapered portions of corresponding ends of the shoe cooperate to form a end portions, with each end portion decreasing in width away from the mid-portion.
TIRE MOLDING APPARATUS
Provided is a tire molding apparatus capable of preventing a transfer device from continuing to swing after stop. The tire molding apparatus includes: a rail; and a transfer device configured to hold a tire member and move along the rail. The transfer device is configured to move along the rail and stop to receive or deliver the tire member. A positioning device is provided in the transfer device. The positioning device includes a concave portion and a convex portion. One of the concave portion and the convex portion is provided in the transfer device, and the other one of the concave portion and the convex portion is provided at a position facing the transfer device when the transfer device is stopped. The transfer device is stopped by fitting the concave portion to the convex portion.
Transfer ring with block and rail system
A transfer ring for use in the manufacture of vehicle tires, the transfer ring including a radially expandable and collapsible segmented cylindrical gripping surface defined by a plurality of inwardly facing arcuate surfaces mounted for radial movement toward and away from a central axis of the cylindrical gripping surface, wherein each arcuate surface is mounted to a corresponding set of driven linkages comprising first, second, and third members, each set of driven linkages further including a block-and-rail cam follower secured to at least one of the first, second, and third members and configured to cooperate with the first, second, and third members to limit movement of the arcuate surface to linear movement radially toward and away from the central axis of the cylindrical gripping surface.
Apparatus and method for manufacturing green tyres
An apparatus (10) for producing green tyres (13) consisting of a carcass or inner section (13′) coupled with a belt package or outer section (13″), comprising a first tyre processing assembly (12) for manufacturing the carcass or inner section (13′), a second tyre processing assembly (14) for finishing said carcass (13′), a third tyre processing assembly (16) for manufacturing a belt package or outer section (13″) and for coupling said carcass or inner section with said belt package or outer section (13′, 13″) to form a tyre (13), and an unloading station (60) for unloading said tyre (13), said tyre processing assemblies comprising interface means for transferring the product being manufactured from one tyre processing assembly to another one and for moving said product being processed internally to said individual tyre processing assemblies in a fully automatic manner.
