20190232590 · 2019-08-01 ·

A movable cover plate drive unit for the mechanical turn-up building drum, which including guiding plate, end cover, movable cover plate, fixed cover plate, cylinder, rotary ring and several turn-up bars, wherein the moveable cover plate is to connect with the slot ring of cylinder through pin shaft I and is able to rotate around the pin shaft I, and the moveable cover plate is to connect with the rotary ring through the pin shaft II, which is located inside the outboard groove of rotary ring; needle cylinder is fixed on the rotary ring, the piston rod of needle cylinder is connected with slot ring by pin shaft I, and the piston rod of the needle cylinder move reciprocating, which drives the rotary ring turning relative with the slot ring, as well as open/close the moveable cover plate via the pin shaft II. The positive result includes: reasonable design structure and lower difficulty on machining and assembly, the moveable cover plate and slot ring move separately, in order to facility to control, shorter driving chain of the movable cover plate improves the structure more stable, and the slot ring is able to completely separate from the moveable cover plate in facility to the further maintenance.

Tire building drum

A tire building drum is described that includes an inboard section, a center section and an outboard section. The inboard section has a rotating spindle and a sliding shaft, and the sliding shaft is slidable within the spindle. The inboard section further includes a radially expandable bead lock device mounted on the spindle. The center section has an internal hub mounted on the sliding shaft and further comprises a plurality of tiles that are radially expandable. The outboard section of the drum is mounted on a distal end of the sliding shaft, and further includes a radially expandable bead lock device. The center section and the outboard section are each axially movable by sliding of the sliding shaft.

Center deck assembly for tire building drum

The invention is directed to a center deck assembly for a tire building drum. The tire building drum is rotatably mounted on a central drive shaft and includes a center section. The center deck assembly is disposed in the center section of the drum and includes a hub that seats on and is secured to the central drive shaft. At least one piston extends circumferentially in the tire building drum about the hub and a plurality of segment bars are disposed about the circumference of the center deck assembly. The at least one piston is operably connected to the segment bars by a plurality of linkages, in which each of the linkages includes a scissor-lever mechanism.

PROCESS AND EXPANDABLE FORMING DRUM FOR BUILDING TYRES FOR VEHICLE WHEELS

A forming drum has circumferentially consecutive sectors that are radially movable between a contracted condition and an expanded condition in which the sectors are radially moved away from a geometric axis in order to define a radially external abutment surface. Each sector has circumferentially opposite coupling portions, each having circumferential projections alternated with circumferential cavities. The projections of each sector are slidably engaged in the respective cavities of circumferentially adjacent sectors. From at least one of the projections, at least one support wing is extended having a first side and a second side that are respectively opposite. The first side coincides with a portion of the abutment surface and the second side at least partially overlaps one of the projections belonging to an adjacent sector. A process for building tyres employing the drum is also described.
