Wedge-shaped multi-layer interlayer with outer skin layers of varying thickness
Multiple layer interlayers having enhanced optical and acoustic properties are provided, along with methods of making and using the same. Interlayers as described herein may include at least two outer skin layers and an inner core layer, with one of the outer skin layers having a different thickness than the other at one or more locations along the interlayer. The multi-layer interlayer may also exhibit acoustic properties and, in some cases, may have an overall wedged thickness profile. Additionally, in some aspects, interlayers and laminates formed therefrom may also provide reduced infrared energy transmission, without sacrificing acoustic and/or optical performance.

A polymer interlayer that resists optical defects. The polymer interlayer comprises a first polymer layer and a second polymer layer. A first object of the invention is to provide an interlayer film for laminated glass which has excellent sound insulating properties and heat shielding properties, and a laminated glass using the same. Further, a second object of the invention is to provide an interlayer film for laminated glass capable of maintaining the sound insulating properties, weather resistance, and heat creep resistance at a high level even if the thickness is reduced, and a laminated glass using the same.
The invention relates to an interlayer film for laminated glass, including at least one layer A containing a thermoplastic elastomer, wherein a laminated glass in which the interlayer film for laminated glass is disposed between two clear glasses with the total thickness of the clear glasses being 4 mm or less has a visible light transmittance of 70% or more and an average transmittance of infrared light in the wavelength range of 800 to 1,100 nm of 72% or less.

The present invention relates to an interlayer film for a laminated glass, having a large number of recesses and a large number of projections on at least one surface, the interlayer film for a laminated glass having a thickness with a difference between a maximum thickness and a minimum thickness of less than 40 m at each of a central portion, one end portion, and an other end portion in a width direction that is orthogonal, in the same plane, to a machine direction of the film in production of the interlayer film for a laminated glass, the thickness being measured along 3 m in the machine direction of the film in production of the interlayer film for a laminated glass at the central portion, the one end portion, and the other end portion in the width direction.

The present invention aims to provide an interlayer film for a laminated glass which has a multilayer structure including two or more resin layers laminated together and can prevent optical distortion even at high temperatures, a laminated glass including the interlayer film for a laminated glass, and a method of producing the interlayer film for a laminated glass. The present invention relates to an interlayer film for a laminated glass, the interlayer film including: two or more resin layers laminated together, one resin layer having a surface with a ratio (Rz/Sm) of a ten-point average roughness Rz (m) to an average interval Sm (m) of projections and recesses of 0.0018 or less as measured in conformity with JIS B-0601(1994) in the following manner: a laminated glass is produced using two clear glass sheets conforming to JIS R3202(1996) and the interlayer film; the interlayer film is peeled away from the clear glass sheets after the laminated glass is cooled with liquid nitrogen; the one resin layer is peeled away from another resin layer that is in direct contact with the one resin layer; and the Rz and Sm of the surface of the one resin layer on the side having been in contact with the other resin layer are measured.
