Absorbing solar control interlayers

A thermochromic, near infrared (NIR) absorbing interlayer. The interlayer includes a NIR-absorbing substance dispersed or dissolved in a polymer matrix and a thermochromic material or system. The interlayer has an internal visible light transmission above 50% and an internal solar energy transmission below 55% when the interlayer is at 15° C. and an internal visible light transmission below 20% and an internal solar energy transmission below 20% when the interlayer is at 75° C. The internal haze of the interlayer is below 3.5%.

There is provided an interlayer film for laminated glass with which a low yellow index value, low excitation purity and high heat shielding properties can be achieved in spite of the thickness varying with places. The interlayer film for laminated glass according to the present invention has a two or more-layer structure, has a thickness of one end thinner than a thickness of the other end at the opposite side of the one end and includes a first layer containing a thermoplastic resin and a second layer containing a thermoplastic resin, the difference between the maximum thickness and the minimum thickness in the first layer is smaller than the difference between the maximum thickness and the minimum thickness in the second layer, and the first layer contains a heat shielding compound.

A heat ray shielding film is disclosed, including composite tungsten oxide particles; and an ionomer resin. The composite tungsten oxide particles are expressed by a general formula M.sub.xWO.sub.y (where M denotes one or more kinds of elements selected from Cs, Rb, K, Tl, In, Ba, Li, Ca, Sr, Fe, Sn, Al, Cu, and Na, and 0.1≦x≦0.5 and 2.2≦y≦3.0).

There is provided an interlayer film for laminated glass with which the haze value of laminated glass can be lowered and the releasability of a lamination glass member from the interlayer film can be made moderately high. The interlayer film for laminated glass according to the present invention is a single-layered interlayer film provided with only a first layer or is a multi-layered interlayer film provided with a first layer and another layer, the first layer contains no magnesium or contains magnesium in a content of 50 ppm or less and the first layer contains a phosphorus compound having a polyoxyalkylene group or a silane compound having a polyoxyalkylene group, the first layer contains heat shielding particles in the case of the interlayer film provided with only the first layer, and at least one layer in the interlayer film contains heat shielding particles in the case of the interlayer film provided with the first layer and another layer.
