Method and apparatus for printhead maintenance
In an example, there is provided a method and apparatus for controlling spit on page operation, the method comprising receiving at least one image to be printed, for each row of a plurality of rows of the image: identifying two or more pixels of the row of the image to be printed by a nozzle of a printhead, determining if a spacing between two consecutive pixels of the two or more pixels is greater than a threshold distance, and in response to a determination that the spacing between the two consecutive pixels is greater than the threshold distance, providing an indication that spit on page dots should be provided when printing the image.
Liquid ejecting apparatus and liquid ejecting method
A liquid ejecting apparatus includes a liquid ejecting unit, an acquisition unit, and a controller. The liquid ejecting unit includes a nozzle through which a liquid is to be discharged and an ejection surface on which the nozzle opens. The acquisition unit obtains distance information that indicates a distance between the ejection surface and a surface of a medium on which the liquid discharged through the nozzle is to land. The controller varies a flushing amount in accordance with the distance information obtained, the flushing amount being an amount of the liquid discharged during a flushing operation in which the liquid ejecting unit discharges the liquid through the nozzle as a maintenance operation.
HEAD CLEANING APPARATUS, INKJET RECORDING APPARATUS, HEAD CLEANING METHOD AND STORAGE MEDIUM
A head cleaning apparatus includes a cleaning unit that includes a cleaning member and a hardware processor. The head cleaning apparatus is configured to perform a cleaning operation of cleaning a nozzle surface of an inkjet head with the cleaning member, the nozzle surface having a water-repellent film. The cleaning operation is performed either in a rub mode or a stamp mode. In the rub mode, the cleaning member and the nozzle surface are brought into contact and relatively slid on each other. In the stamp mode, the cleaning member and the nozzle surface are brought into contact and kept still. The hardware processor determines which mode is performed, the rub mode or the stamp mode, in the cleaning operation based on a predetermined condition.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
In image forming apparatus, a recording head is configured to eject ink corresponding to an image to be printed, using arranged nozzles. A control unit is configured to determine nozzles corresponding to the image to be printed, correspondingly to a position of a print sheet, and cause the recording head to eject ink from the nozzles. A correction processing unit is configured to perform a correction process corresponding to each of the plural ink ejection malfunction positions in the image. A head cleaning processing unit is configured to perform head cleaning for the recording head. Further, if the number of the detected ink ejection malfunction positions exceeds a predetermined upperlimit value when using a predetermined ink droplet size, the correction processing unit causes the head cleaning processing unit to perform head cleaning for the recording head and thereby decreases the number of the ink ejection malfunction positions.
WIPING DEVICE, IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND WIPING METHOD
A wiping device includes a wiping member and a moving part. The wiping member wipes a liquid off a nozzle surface of a recording head. The moving part moves the wiping member along the nozzle surface in a predetermined moving direction. The wiping member performs a first wiping operation in which the wiping member is moved while not coming into contact with the nozzle surface but coming into contact with the liquid adhering to the nozzle surface, and a second wiping operation in which the wiping member is moved while coming into contact with the nozzle surface after the first wiping operation.
Liquid droplet discharging apparatus
A liquid droplet discharging apparatus includes: a discharging head having: a liquid channel including a nozzle; and an energy applying part which applies, to liquid inside the liquid channel, discharge energy for discharging a liquid droplet from the nozzle; a signal outputting circuit which outputs signals depending on whether the nozzle satisfies a predetermined discharging performance; and a controller. The controller determines whether the nozzle satisfies the predetermined discharging performance, and estimates viscosity of the liquid inside the discharging head based on: viscosity estimation data in which discharge energy information and viscosity information are associated with each other, and a result of the determination performed in a case that the controller controls the energy applying part based on the discharge energy information and that the discharge energy is thereby applied to the liquid inside the liquid channel.
Liquid jetting apparatus
A liquid jetting apparatus includes: a liquid jetting head having: a plurality of kinds of individual channels, a jetting surface formed with a plurality of kinds of nozzles from which a plurality of kinds of liquids are jetted, respectively, a plurality of kinds of inflow channels, a plurality of kinds of outflow channels; valves provided at least on the plurality of kinds of inflow channels; a wiper configured to be movable relative to the liquid jetting head in a direction along the jetting surface; a first motor configured to move the liquid jetting head and the wiper relative to each other; and a controller. The controller executes a wiping by driving the first motor in a state that the valves are closed.
Safety zone for a maintenance task
Examples relate to a method to print a print job. The method comprise comparing an operational parameter of the print job with a reference operational parameter and determining to perform a maintenance task during the print job based on at least a result of comparing the operational parameter with the reference operational parameter. If the maintenance task is to be performed, the method further comprises determining a safety area on a printable medium and performing a maintenance task on a printable medium.
RECORDING APPARATUS, CONTROL METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
A recording apparatus includes a recording unit, a scanning unit configured to perform relative scanning by moving the recording unit and a recording medium relative to each other at least once with respect to a unit region on the recording medium, a recovery unit configured to perform a recovery operation for maintaining or recovering a recording performance of the recording unit for application of a recording material, and a control unit configured to control the recovery unit, wherein the control unit acquires recording mode information about recording of an image to be performed on a recording medium for (n+1)-th page (n being a natural number) and determines, based on the acquired recording mode information, whether to perform an inter-page recovery operation at timing after recording of an image on a recording medium for n-th page ends and before recording of an image on a recording medium for (n+1)-th page starts.
INKJET PRINTING APPARATUS
An inkjet printing apparatus includes a head, a platen, a platen absorbent that temporarily stores ink ejected from the head, a waste ink storage container that stores the ink discharged from the platen absorbent, and an estimation unit that, in a case where the platen is divided into a plurality of regions in a direction intersecting a conveyance direction of the printing medium, estimates an amount of ink stored in the waste ink storage container based on a position of a region to which the ink is ejected by the head and an amount of ink ejected to the region.
