IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS CAPABLE OF PERFORMING PROCESSES IN ACCORDANCE WITH OPERATION MODE SET THEREFOR
An image forming apparatus includes: a main casing; a supply cartridge attachable to the main casing; a printing mechanism; a display; and a controller configured to perform: determining, based on information inputted into the controller, whether an agreement is made for the image forming apparatus; setting, when an agreement is made for the image forming apparatus, an operation mode for the image forming apparatus to a pre-contract mode; determining under the pre-contract mode whether a type of the supply cartridge attached to the main casing is a normal type or a subscription type; displaying, when the type of the supply cartridge attached to the main casing is the normal type, information related to the pre-contract mode on the display; and setting, when the type of the supply cartridge attached to the main casing is the subscription type, the operation mode from the pre-contract mode to a formal contract mode.
PRINTING FLUID SUPPLIES WITH DISPLAYS AND NEAR-FIELD COMMUNICATIONS
A print supply, the print supply to connect to a printing device to provide a print material to the printing device that includes a fluidic bag within a box to maintain a print material supply, a machine and human readable fluid gauge system that includes a microprocessor to transfer print material level information describing a level of print material within the bag, and a gauge display to represent the level of print material within the bag, and a near field communication device to transfer data describing a level of print material within the print liquid supply.
SYSTEM AND METHOD OF MONITORING USAGE OF A RECORDING MATERIAL IN AN IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
Systems, methods, software for monitoring usage of a recording medium in an image forming apparatus. In one embodiment, a usage monitor receives a raster image, and identifies thresholds that distinguish different intensity levels reproduced by different drop sizes of the recording material. The usage monitor identifies a set of pixel values for a block of pixels from the raster image, performs a vectorized comparison of the set of pixel values to each of the thresholds to generate sets of comparison bits, determines a number of set bits in each of the sets of comparison bits, and updates a threshold counter for each of the thresholds based on the number of set bits. The usage monitor may then compute drop counts for different drop sizes based on the threshold counter for each of the thresholds.
Image recording apparatus
The image recording apparatus has a head, a tank, a case that receives a cartridge, and a controller. When the cartridge is installed in the case of the image recording apparatus, the liquid in the cartridge flows to the tank by a difference between a liquid level in the cartridge and a liquid level in the tank. The controller controls a display to display a first notification indicating an ink cartridge based on receiving a first signal output from a sensor when a liquid level in an ink chamber reached a specific position. The controller, after receiving the first signal from the sensor, counts a count value indicating an amount of discharged liquid from the head. Further, the controller, in response to the count value reaching a first threshold, controls the display to display a second notification.
PRINTING APPARATUS, SERVICE PROVIDING SYSTEM, AND PRINTING APPARATUS CONTROL METHOD
A service printer includes a printer printing unit that executes a print function, a scanning unit that executes a scan function, a printer communication unit that acquires, from a service providing server that provides a delivery service of delivering ink, status information indicating at least one of the status of a contract for use of the delivery service and the status of payment of the usage fee for the delivery service, and a printer controller that enables or disables execution of the print function and execution of the scan function based on at least one of the contract status and the payment status that are indicated by the status information acquired by the printer communication unit.
Replacement and priming of fluid-ejection device fluid supplies
When a first fluid supply of a fluid-ejection device is empty and a second fluid supply of the device has a non-empty fluid amount less than a threshold, the device performs an action related to the second fluid supply. After the action has been performed and both the first and second fluid supplies have been replaced, the device primes the first and second fluid supplies. The action can include emptying the second fluid supply, and then messaging that both the fluid supplies require replacement. The action can include messaging that both fluid supplies require replacement although the second fluid supply is not empty. The action can include not messaging even that the first fluid supply requires replacement until the second fluid supply also becomes empty.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND COMPUTER-READABLE STORAGE MEDIUM
An image forming apparatus, having a first container with a first compartment, a second container with a second compartment, a recorder, a display, and a controller, is provided. The controller controls the display to display a first screen and a second screen. The first screen contains a first object having a form that reflects an amount of a colorant in the first compartment and a second object having a form that reflects an amount of the colorant in the second compartment. The second screen contains a third object having a form that reflects one of the amount of the colorant in the first compartment, the amount of the colorant in the second compartment, and a total amount of the colorant in the first compartment and the second compartment.
Supply reservoir
Examples disclosed herein relate to displaying, on a user interface, an approximate amount of a supply material in a supply reservoir. Upon receiving, in a receptacle, a new supply container, the supply reservoir may be filled with supply material from the new supply container. The user interface may further display an updated approximate amount of the supply material in a supply reservoir and an approximate amount of the supply material in the supply container.
PRINTER
A printer includes: a printing section configured to perform printing using a plurality of printing materials contained in corresponding printing material containers, a display section configured to display respective remaining amounts of the individual printing materials contained in the corresponding printing material containers; and a controller configured to control display on the display section, wherein the controller performs display control so as to match the display on the remaining amount of a second container other than the first container with the display on the remaining amount of a first container having a smallest remaining amount among the plurality of the printing material containers.
Non-transitory computer-readable recording medium storing computer-readable instructions for information processing device, information processing device, and method performed by information processing device for management of colorant material amounts in plural types of printers having different methods for supplying colorant materials
An information processing device may notify first notification information in a case where a remaining amount of colorant in a first-type printer reaches a first remaining amount, notify second notification information in a case where the remaining amount reaches an unprintable remaining amount, notify third notification information in a case where a remaining amount of colorant in a second-type printer reaches a second remaining amount, and notify fourth notification information in a case where the remaining amount reaches the unprintable remaining amount. The first-type printer may include a tank for storing colorant supplied from a first cartridge to a first print executing unit. The first remaining amount may be a remaining amount in a state where the colorant does not remain in the first cartridge but remains in the tank. The second-type printer may include a second print executing unit and may not include a tank.
