ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED SWAY BAR DAMPING LINK
Disclosed herein is a sway bar system comprising a damping link that couples a first end of a sway bar to a first location on a vehicle. The damping link is comprised of a body comprising a damping chamber and a reservoir. There is also a through shaft coupled to a piston, where the piston divides the chamber into a first chamber and a second chamber. A high-pressure line is fluidly coupled with the chamber and the reservoir and allows fluid to flow from the first chamber and the second chamber to the reservoir. A low-pressure line is fluidly coupled with the chamber and the reservoir and allows fluid to flow from the reservoir to the first chamber and the second chamber. The high-pressure line and the low-pressure line assist in self-centering the sway bar.
Electronically Adjustable Sway Bar Link
This invention pertains to sway bar systems, and a method of controlling their operation. Specifically, the present invention relates to provide a way of adjusting the response characteristics of a sway bar system by changing the structure of the typical sway bar links and regulating the modified structure by utilizing an electronically adjustable sway bar link. Said electronically adjustable sway bar link comprises a twin tube cylinder filled with mixed incompressible fluid and pressurized gas and forms a determined volume in order to host pressurized gas higher than fluid flow regulation functions, permitting a directional control valve to always remain fully submerged in incompressible fluid and to modify the fluid path between each tube of said twin tube cylinder, allowing closed or opened fluid flow operation, determined by a controlling device receiving an electronic input and piloting said directional control valve.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR ACTIVE ROLL CONTROL
A system for active roll control for a vehicle body is provided and includes a sensor operable to monitor a tilt of the body and a suspension system. The suspension system includes an active sway bar including a first bar portion, a second bar portion, and an active roll control motor disposed between the first bar portion and the second bar portion. The active roll control motor is operable to turn the first bar portion in relation to the second bar portion. The system further includes a computerized active roll control controller which is operative to monitor a driving mode including one of straight-line driving and rounding a curve on a road, monitor an output of the sensor, determine a desired roll moment based upon the driving mode and the output of the sensor, and control the active roll control motor based upon the desired roll moment.
A CONTROL SYSTEM FOR A VEHICLE
Aspects of the present invention relate to a control system, a suspension system, a vehicle and a method. A control system comprising one or more controllers is configured to: receive at least one vehicle dynamics signal, wherein the at least one vehicle dynamics signal is indicative of a vehicle dynamics parameter, determine a current dynamic usage of a vehicle in dependence on the received at least one vehicle dynamics signal, determine a control parameter for an actuator of the vehicle in dependence at least in part on the current dynamic usage of the vehicle, and output a control signal to control the actuator in dependence on the control parameter.
STABILIZER CONTROL APPARATUS
The ECU of the stabilizer control apparatus determines, based on a high frequency component of a wheel acceleration and a low frequency component of a wheel speed difference, whether a road surface state is a rough road state or a smooth road state. When the road surface state is determined to be the rough road state, the ECU sets a turning determination threshold to a rough road threshold. When the road surface state is determined to be the smooth road state, the ECU sets the threshold to a smooth road threshold. When a turning determination parameter is greater than the threshold, the ECU sets each of first, second, and third cylinders to a lock state to increase rigidity of stabilizers. When the turning determination parameter is smaller than the turning determination threshold, the ECU sets each of the cylinders to a free state to decrease the rigidity of the stabilizers.
Switchable stabilizer assembly of a vehicle
A switchable stabilizer assembly of a vehicle, in particular for roll stabilization. The stabilizer assembly includes a first stabilizer half and a second stabilizer half, both coupled to a wheel of the vehicle, where the first and second stabilizer halves are coupled rotatably relative to each other about their longitudinal axis by a hydraulic actuator. The actuator has at least two working chambers filled with a hydraulic medium and has at least one fluid-conducting connection of variable flow cross section between the at least two working chambers. The working chambers are not elastically deformable. Instead, a spring element is arranged in the at least two working chambers and/or in at least two further working chambers of the actuator and is supported between a rotor and a stator of the actuator. The flow cross section of the fluid-conducting connection can be varied depending on the vibration frequency of the stabilizer assembly.
WHEEL ALIGNMENT SYSTEMS
Apparatuses and systems for monitoring wheel alignment and/or for controlling vehicle suspension settings to adjust alignment. Described herein are alignment monitoring apparatuses for determining wheel alignment (e.g., camber, castor and/or toe). Also described herein are alignment adjusting or control apparatuses for adjusting one or more of camber, caster and/or toe.
Sway bar clamp
A clamp for securing a link to a bar or a rod in order to accommodate multiple connection points. The clamp or sway bar clamp includes multiple connection points for securing a link to a sway bar. The sway bar clamp goes over the end of the sway bar. It converts a sway bar with one connection point to a sway bar with multiple connection points to adjust flex of the sway bar.
Adjustable anti-roll bar arrangement
An adjustable anti-roll bar arrangement for a vehicle, comprising a bracket configured to be mounted in a fixed relationship to a chassis or a an axle of the vehicle, a linear actuator connected to the bracket, a guided element, the linear actuator being configured to drive the guided element along a first geometrical axis, a supporting shaft mounted to the bracket and defining a second geometrical axis which has a different extension compared to the first geometrical axis, an anti-roll bar, and a stabilizer stay having a first end connected to the anti-roll bar, and a second end movably connected to and supported by the supporting shaft, the second end being also connected to the guided element such that when the linear actuator drives the guided element along the first geometrical axis, the second end follows the motion along the second geometrical axis. The invention also relates to a vehicle comprising such an arrangement.
STABILIZER ASSEMBLY FOR A TWO-TRACK VEHICLE
The invention relates to a stabilizer assembly of a two-track vehicle for stabilizing a rolling movement, the stabilizer assembly being operable on at least two different spring characteristics, comprising a first and a second stabilizer half, each coupled to a wheel of the vehicle, wherein the first and the second stabilizer halves are coupled such that they can rotate relative to each other about their longitudinal axis by means of a spring element, whereby the stabilizer is operable with a first spring characteristic, and wherein the first and the second stabilizer halves can be hydraulically coupled such that they can rotate relative to each other about their longitudinal axis by means of a hydraulic actuator, whereby the stabilizer is operable using at least one second spring characteristic. The actuator comprises at least two work chambers which are filled with a hydraulic medium and coupled to each other by a fluid-conducting connection, and the actuator comprises a transmission unit which is designed such that a rotational movement of the stabilizer halves can be converted into a translational movement of an intermediate element arranged between the two work chambers, and a volume flow of the hydraulic medium from the one work chamber into the other work chamber can thus be produced.
