Seat track assembly having load absorption features

A seat track assembly may include a lower seat track having a pair of opposing outer rails and an upper seat track having a pair of opposing inner rails. The inner rails of the upper seat track may cooperate with the outer rails of the lower seat track to support the upper seat track for movement on the lower seat track. A support member may be provided between the lower seat track and the upper seat track. The support member may include a portion that extends in a vertical direction between the lower seat track and the upper seat track to restrict vertical movement of the upper seat track relative to the lower seat track. The support member may also include a portion that extends in a lateral direction between the inner rails of the upper seat track to restrict the inner rails from deforming inwardly toward one another.

SLIDE RAIL

A slide rail includes a fixed-side rail, a movable-side rail, and a reinforcing structure that prevents detachment of the movable-side rail from the fixed-side rail. The reinforcing structure includes a fixed-side engaging portion attached to the fixed-side rail, and a movable-side engaging portion attached to the movable-side rail. The fixed-side and the movable-side engaging portions are configured, while allowing sliding of the movable-side rail, to come in contact with each other due to an action by a large load in a detaching direction input between the fixed-side rail and the movable-side rail, and to be engaged with each other to restrict movement of the movable-side rail in the detaching direction. A contact surface, that comes in contact with the movable-side engaging portion, of the fixed-side engaging portion includes surface regions that have mutually different positions in the detaching direction and are provided side by side in a sliding direction.

An adjustment device for adjusting a longitudinal position of a vehicle seat, comprises: a first guide rail; a spindle fixed to the first guide rail and extending along a longitudinal axis; a second guide rail being linearly movable along the longitudinal axis with respect to the first guide rail, the second guide rail having a base and a first leg extending from the base; and a gearing fixed to the second guide rail and having a housing, the gearing being in operative connection with the spindle to move the second guide rail relative to the first guide rail. At least one support member is arranged on the second guide rail, the at least one support member having a support face extending transversely to the longitudinal axis and facing the housing of the gearing for supporting the gearing with respect to the second guide rail. The support face comprises a first edge facing the base or the first leg and having a welding section via which the first edge is fixed to the base or the first leg by welding, a tab protruding from said first edge and engaging with an opening of said base or said first leg.

Longitudinal adjuster for a vehicle seat

A longitudinal adjuster in the interior of a motor vehicle, has an upper and a lower rail, between which at least one rolling body is provided. A projection is provided on the upper and/or lower rail, the projection forming a local contact point between the two rails.

Vehicle seat

A vehicle seat includes a slide rail. A cap provided in an upper rail integrally includes a base portion adjacent to a longitudinal rear end of the upper rail provided with the cap, and a first deformation prevention portion extending into a space from the base portion toward a longitudinal center of the upper rail provided with the cap, the first deformation prevention portion being provided between the pair of side face portions within the space so as to restrain deformation of the upper rail. When the upper rail is placed in a rearmost position within a slidable range, the first deformation prevention portion is placed in vicinity to the rear end of the lower rail.

Reinforced track assembly for vehicle seat

A track assembly includes a first track having a first support extending from a first surface of the first track. The first support includes a first curved end. The track assembly includes a second track slidably coupled to the first track. The second track includes a second support extending from a second surface of the second track. The second support includes a second curved end. The first support and the second support are positioned such that the second curved end interfaces with the first curved end.

ADJUSTMENT DEVICE FOR THE LONGITUDINAL ADJUSTMENT OF A VEHICLE SEAT AND ANCILLARY LOCKING DEVICE FOR THE SAME

Disclosed is an adjustment device (103) for the adjustment of the position of a vehicle seat in a longitudinal direction, comprising at least one pair of rails comprising a first, fixed rail (3) and a second rail (5) movably guided thereto in a longitudinal direction (x), and an ancillary locking device (107) which comprises a plurality of first locking structures (24, 25) formed on or connected to the second rail (5), and a plurality of second locking structures (36, 37) formed corresponding to the first locking structures and formed on or connected to the first rail (3). The ancillary locking device is not active in a normal mode and, after introduction of forces in the event of a crash, causes an additional locking of the second rail (5) to the first rail (3) by positively locking of the first and second locking structures (24, 25; 36, 37) to one another.

In order to ensure a locking of the longitudinal position of the pair of seat rails in the event of a crash by the ancillary locking device in any longitudinal positions, the first and second locking structures (24, 25; 36, 37) are arranged on both sides of the respective pair of rails and at regular distances (a) from one another in the longitudinal direction (x), wherein the first locking structures (24a, 25a; 24b, 25b) or the second locking structures (36a, 37b; 36b, 37b) are arranged offset from one another in the longitudinal direction (x) on the two sides of the respective pair of rails.
