CARRIER FOR AIRBAG

A vehicle seat assembly includes a seat, an arm connected to the seat, a carrier supported by the arm, and an airbag supported by the carrier. The arm is moveable between a stowed position and a deployed position. The carrier is spaceable from the seat when the arm is in the deployed position. The airbag is inflatable to an inflated position in a direction toward the seat.

Dynamically Tilted Seat Pan

An apparatus for dynamically tilting a seatpan in an aircraft passenger seating assembly includes a seat frame, seatback, seat cushion, and cushion support structure (e.g., a seatpan), the seat cushion and seatpan together having a forward end and a rear end and together supporting a passenger occupying the seating assembly. Accelerometers may detect an inertial event such as a rapid deceleration that may cause the passenger to pitch forward; dynamic seatpan actuators (e.g., airbags or ballistic devices) connected to the accelerometers react to the inertial event by detonating, driving the seatpan and seat cushion upward. As a result, the head path of the passenger may be redirected upward, alleviating the risk of passenger injury and component damage. Additional airbags may react to the inertial event by tightening the passenger seatbelt.

VEHICLE SEAT

A vehicle seat includes: a power tilt mechanism; a seat front panel that forms a part of a front portion of a seat cushion, bridges a right and left pair of side frames of the seat cushion, and is configured to be rotatable by the power tilt mechanism about a tilt central axis that is provided in linking portions, at which the seat front panel is linked to the side frames, an axial direction of the tilt central axis coinciding with a seat width direction; and a control device that is connected to the power tilt mechanism, the control device being configured to activate the power tilt mechanism to cause the seat front panel to rotate in a seat upward direction, in a case in which a vehicle impact in which an occupant sitting on the seat cushion will move in a seat forward direction has been predicted.

There is provided a vehicle seat that includes: a waist movement suppressing member that is disposed at a seat front side and a seat upper side of a seat cushion, and that extends in a seat width direction; movable members that support both end portions of the waist movement suppressing member movably in a seat vertical direction; urging members that urge the movable members toward a seat upper side; raising mechanisms that, at a time of sudden braking or at a time a collision is predicted, move the waist movement suppressing member toward the seat upper side; and stoppers that limit movement, toward a seat lower side, of the waist movement suppressing member that has been moved toward the seat upper side by the raising mechanisms.

ANTI-SUBMARINING SEAT STRUCTURE

An anti-submarining seat structure includes a seat frame, upholstery, an anti-submarining device, a sensor and a controller. The upholstery overlays the seat frame at least partially forming a seat cushion portion with a cavity between the seat frame and a portion of the upholstery adjacent to a front area of the seat frame. The anti-submarining device is installed within the cavity and is configured to transition from an unactuated orientation to an actuated orientation. In the actuated orientation, the anti-submarining device forms a restraining structure proximate the front area of the seat cushion portion. The sensor is configured to detect rapid changes in acceleration and velocity of the vehicle body structure. The controller is connected to the anti-submarining device and the sensor and is configured to actuate the anti-submarining device in response to signals from the sensor indicating a rapid change in acceleration and velocity of the vehicle body structure.

A vehicle seat to be mounted on a vehicle includes a seat cushion and a seat surface lowering mechanism. The seat cushion includes a seat surface on which a waist of an occupant of the vehicle is to be placed. The seat surface lowering mechanism is configured to lower the seat surface in response to either one of an occurrence of a rear-end collision of the vehicle or a sign of the occurrence of the rear-end collision.

VEHICLE SEAT

Provided is a vehicle seat prevented from rearward tilting thereof at a rear collision and prevented from an increase in the seat weight. The vehicle seat includes a link mechanism configured to adjust a height of a seat cushion. The link mechanism includes: an attachment bracket to be attached to a floor of a vehicle compartment; link arms linking a cushion frame and the attachment bracket to each other in such a manner that the cushion frame is shiftable between a first position and a second position located downward and vehicular rearward of the first position in parallel to the attachment bracket; and a protrusion integrally formed with the attachment bracket and protruding upward from an upper surface of the attachment bracket, and having a contact surface that comes into contact with a bumping section of the cushion frame thereon when a vehicle is involved in the rear collision.

Seat pan impulse device for the reduction of spinal tension loads resulting from a free flail event

A system and method for delivering an axial compression load to a passenger during a frontal deceleration event is disclosed. The system includes a seat frame, a seat pan, and an impulse generator coupled to the seat pan configured to provide an axial compression load onto a spine of a sitting passenger during a forward deceleration event. The system further includes a controller configured to receive a forward deceleration signal from the inertial sensor and activate the impulse generator based on the forward deceleration signal. The impulse generator may generate a compressive force via a chemical reaction, via a mechanically stored energy, a solenoid switch, or via a rotating cam assembly.

VEHICULAR SEAT EQUIPPED WITH CUSHION AIRBAG DEVICE, AND CUSHION AIRBAG

A vehicular seat includes: a cushion panel disposed to extend in a seat front-rear direction and to form a bottom portion of a seat cushion; an inflator configured to operate to produce gas, the inflator being provided in the seat cushion; and a cushion airbag configured to expand due to the gas and to push up a range including portions of a seat occupant from thighs to hip points in an expansion end state, the cushion airbag being provided over the cushion panel, in which the cushion airbag is set such that a push-up force in rear right and left regions corresponding to right and left hip joints to right and left lower ischium portions of the seat occupant in the expansion end state is lower than a push-up force in a rear center region present between the rear right and left regions in the expansion end state.

UNDER SEAT STORAGE BIN FOR FLIP FORWARD SECOND ROW SEAT
