An airbag apparatus for a vehicle may include an airbag cushion configured to be provided with a vent hole for discharging inflation gas therein to the outside; a flap configured to have an external circumferential surface partially coupled to the airbag cushion along a rim of the vent hole; and a tether configured to have one end portion penetrating through the vent hole of the airbag cushion to be coupled to an internal side surface of the flap and be partially supported on an internal side surface of the airbag cushion to pull the flap when the airbag cushion is fully deployed, to close the vent hole and release a tensile force when the airbag cushion is loaded to deploy the flap outwardly of the airbag cushion by the inflation gas, to open the vent hole.

A clip and a tether clip of a pillar garnish fixing structure includes a shaft and a pair of engagement hooks opposing each other. Each engagement hook is connected to the shaft at a hook connecting portion. A deformation promoting portion is formed at each of a pair of shaft wall portions opposing each other in a diametrical direction perpendicular to a direction in which the pair of engagement hooks are opposed. Even when a thickness of the hook connecting portion is increased thereby increasing a strength of the engagement hook, the hook connecting portion is deformed so as to approach a center axis line so that the engagement hook can pass through a clip fixing aperture. As a result, both the strength of the engagement hook and a serviceability can be satisfied.

The roof headliner has an extension portion extended so as to be positioned in the pillar garnish. The roof headliner is fitted at the extension portion to the clip seat.

Methods of attaching a flexible expansion member to either a semi-rigid contact surface or a semi-rigid expansion wall of the enclosure include providing a mechanical attachment by capturing an expansion member edge between a frame and semi-rigid member. Material from a molded semi-rigid member may flow over or into geometries provided in a flexible expansion member for joining. An interface may be defined by blend-molding to transition different material stiffness.
