Driver airbag apparatus for vehicle
Disclosed is a driver airbag apparatus for a vehicle configured to be deployed from the region behind a steering wheel, having at the center portion thereof an obstacle, toward the region in front of the steering wheel while avoiding the obstacle. The driver airbag apparatus includes an airbag housing disposed behind the steering wheel, an airbag cushion accommodated in the airbag housing and configured to be deployed by gas injected thereinto toward the region in front of the steering wheel through a space between the obstacle and the steering wheel, and a housing cover coupled to the airbag housing so as to cover an opening in the airbag housing and configured to be ruptured by the deployment pressure of the airbag cushion so as to open the airbag housing to a limited angle toward the region in front of the steering wheel.
Airbag inflation tunnels and related systems and methods
Airbag cushion assemblies comprising an airbag inflation tunnel positioned within an airbag cushion. Some embodiments may comprise an airbag cushion comprising an inflator opening and an airbag inflation tunnel coupled to the airbag cushion. The inflation tunnel may be configured to direct inflation gas from an inflator positioned within the inflator opening down the airbag inflation tunnel upon deployment of the inflator. A plurality of directional vent openings may be positioned within the airbag inflation tunnel that may be configured to direct the inflation gas laterally relative to the inflator. The inflation tunnel may further be configured such that the inflation gas contacts a terminal end of the inflation tunnel prior to exiting the plurality of directional vent openings.
Cover Element For An Airbag Module, And Airbag Module Having Such A Cover Element
A cover element (10) for an airbag unit having a stationary section, a first flap (14), and a second flap (20), wherein the first flap (14) is connected to the stationary section by at least one first hinge (31), and the second flap (20) by at least one second hinge (32). The two flaps (14, 20) are connected to each other by a tear connection (35). The first flap (14) has an outer area (16) and an emblem area (18), which protrude at least partially from the outer area (16) and extend into the second flap (20). In order that the emblem area (18) is not in the way of the expanding airbag even if the emblem area (18) is relatively large, the emblem area (18) is connected to the outer area (16) of the first flap (14) by a third hinge (33), so that the emblem area (18) can swing against the outer area (16) when the first flap (14) is open.
DRIVER AIRBAG DEVICE
An airbag device, including: a gas generator that generates expansion gas; an airbag that expands and deploys by the expansion gas to restrain an occupant; and a gas rectifying member provided inside the airbag so as to cover the occupant side of the gas generator, and that controls the flow of the expansion gas. The gas rectifying member is formed from a flat panel including a portion bilaterally symmetrical to a line connecting 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock (X axis) when a plane parallel to a rim of the steering wheel is regarded as a clock face, and has a configuration where a lower opening portion for discharging the expansion gas in a 6 o'clock direction is formed by stitching left and right edge portions of the panel together, and the occupant side of the gas generator is covered.
AIRBAG DEVICE FOR DRIVER'S SEAT
A driver seat airbag apparatus includes a steering wheel and an airbag module. The steering wheel has a central hub and a rim. The rim has a shape in which a portion of the upper portion of the hub is omitted. The hub includes: a module housing part which houses the airbag module; and a cover which covers the module housing and is cleavable at the expansion pressure of the cushion. The cover includes cover doors which open at the expansion pressure of the cushion. When the cover is cleaved, the cover doors are open in the right and left diagonal upward directions when viewed from the center of the hub, while a space portion without the cover doors is formed in the direction directly above the center of the hub when viewed from the center of the hub.
DRIVER AIR BAG APPARATUS FOR VEHICLE WITH ILLUMINATION EMBLEM
A driver airbag apparatus for vehicle with an illumination emblem, capable of preventing the deployment pressure of an airbag cushion 10 from being directly transmitted to a cover hinge part 43 of an airbag cover 40, thereby preventing the cover hinge part 43 from being broken due to the deployment pressure of the airbag cushion 10 and the departure of the illumination emblem 50 from a driver airbag module, by using a guide support 60 installed to cover the cover hinge part 43 of the airbag cover 40 at an inner position of the illumination emblem 50.
DRIVERSEAT AIRBAG DEVICE
A driver seat airbag device includes an airbag cushion installed at a center portion 108 of a steering wheel of a vehicle which is configured to expand and deploy toward an occupant in a driver seat; and an inflator that supplies gas to the airbag cushion. The airbag cushion includes a steering side panel provided on the steering wheel side and an occupant side panel joined to the occupant side of the steering side panel. The shape of the expanded and deployed airbag cushion is such that the portion W2, which is the largest area of the cross section orthogonal to the axis of rotation of the steering wheel, is formed further toward the front side of the vehicle than the center portion between the frontmost portion of the steering side panel and the rearmost portion of the occupant side panel.

DRIVER AIRBAG ASSEMBLIES FOR EMBLEM ACCOMMODATION
Decorative emblem assemblies and related airbag modules and methods. In some embodiments, a decorative emblem may be coupled to a plate having a plurality of holes formed therein. A plurality of non-threaded fasteners may extend from the decorative emblem, wherein each of the plurality of non-threaded fasteners is configured to extend through a hole of the plurality of holes formed in the plate. The assembly may further comprise a clip configured to engage each of the plurality of non-threaded fasteners to secure the emblem assembly to an airbag cover and compress the plate between the decorative emblem and the airbag cover.
