The driver airbag module comprises an airbag cover, covering a driver airbag, configured to unfold toward a front space of a driver when the driver airbag is operated, wherein the airbag cover is located above the driver airbag. The airbag module further comprises the lighting device, wherein the lighting device comprises a plurality of lamps which are arranged to be spaced apart from each other, configured to emit light, located below the airbag cover, and coupled to the airbag cover such that the light emitted from the plurality of lamps is exposed to an upper space of the airbag cover. The airbag module further comprises a lighting controller configured to control flashing of the lighting device based on a driving condition of a vehicle, a charging status of a power source, and/or a driver condition.

FASTENING DEVICE FOR A SECURITY MODULE ON A VEHICLE STEERING WHEEL

A device for fastening a safety module on a steering wheel frame includes at least one resilient ring, at least one hook and at least one valve gridge. The at least one hook includes a first surface forming a guide track ending on an inflection point, and a second surface separated from the first surface by the inflection point. The at least one valve bridge has with a third surface across from the second surface of the hook. The resilient ring locks the module fixed on the frame by bearing on the second surface of the hook and on the third surface of the valve bridge. The third surface of the valve bridge includes at least one recess arranged across from the inflection point.

Driverseat airbag device

A driver seat airbag device includes an airbag cushion installed at a center portion 108 of a steering wheel of a vehicle which is configured to expand and deploy toward an occupant in a driver seat; and an inflator that supplies gas to the airbag cushion. The airbag cushion includes a steering side panel provided on the steering wheel side and an occupant side panel joined to the occupant side of the steering side panel. The shape of the expanded and deployed airbag cushion is such that the portion, which is the largest area of the cross section orthogonal to the axis of rotation of the steering wheel, is formed further toward the front side of the vehicle than the center portion between the frontmost portion of the steering side panel and the rearmost portion of the occupant side panel.

DRIVER AIRBAG COVER

A vehicle airbag cover includes a cover member configured to house an airbag and an airbag housing member or a portion of an airbag and airbag housing member fitted within a steering wheel of a car. The vehicle airbag cover further includes a plurality of perforations on the cover member, wherein the perforations define a tear seam and are configured to allow the cover member to tear open upon deployment of the airbag.

A driver seat airbag apparatus includes a steering wheel and an airbag module. The steering wheel has a central hub and a rim. The rim has a shape in which a portion of the upper portion of the rim is omitted. The hub includes: a module housing part which houses the airbag module; and a cover which covers the module housing and is cleavable at the expansion pressure of the cushion. The cover includes cover doors which open at the expansion pressure of the cushion. When the cover is cleaved, the cover doors are open in the right and left diagonal upward directions when viewed from the center of the hub, while a space portion without the cover doors is formed in the direction directly above the center of the hub when viewed from the center of the hub.

COVER ASSEMBLY FOR AN AIRBAG MODULE

An airbag cover assembly of an airbag module has a molded housing cover and a thin leather or imitation outer cover. The molded housing cover is configured for attachment to the airbag module. The housing cover has an outer surface and an inner surface. The inner surface has a plurality of tear seams arranged to break along a predetermined path. The thin leather or imitation leather outer cover is glued or otherwise affixed directly onto the outer surface of the housing cover. The leather or imitation leather outer cover has a generally uniform thickness devoid of tear seams. The thin leather or imitation outer cover has a thickness of less than 1.0 mm, preferably 0.6 mm. The outer cover is constructed from three separate pieces stitched together with threads longitudinally along a curved arc.

Airbag cover of a vehicle

An airbag cover of a vehicle includes a support having at least one predeterminable breaking line that is breakable by an airbag, a transparent upper layer on the support, and at least one film positioned between the support and the transparent upper layer.

SMARTPHONE-BASED VEHICLE CONTROL METHOD TO AVOID COLLISIONS

Vehicular control method to avoid collisions in which a smartphone is coupled to the vehicle while in a vehicular compartment. Data is generated from vehicle-resident sensors about operation of the vehicle and transferred from the vehicle to the smartphone while the smartphone is coupled to the vehicle. A communications network with another vehicle is established using the smartphone and the data transferred from the vehicle to the smartphone and data from sensors on the smartphone is transmitted via the smartphone and established communications network to other vehicle, the data including data about location and movement of the vehicle. Then, while the smartphone is coupled to the vehicle, a vehicular operational function is controlled based in part on data transmitted using the smartphone and established communications network to cause movement of the vehicle to change in order to avoid a collision with the other vehicle.
