Airbag apparatus
An airbag apparatus including: a first chamber connected to an inflator; a second chamber supported by the first chamber, and connected to the rear of the first chamber so as to support the head of a passenger in case of an oblique collision of a vehicle; a third chamber supported by the first chamber, connected to the rear of the first chamber, and disposed at one side of the second chamber so as to support the head of the passenger in case of a head-on collision of the vehicle; and a connection tether connecting the second and third chambers such that the second and third chambers are suppressed from separating from each other.
PROTECTION SYSTEM FOR PERSONS AND GOODS COMPRISING AN INFLATABLE STRUCTURE WITH LONG DURATION OF ACTION
A protection system comprises at least one inflatable safety structure, each associated with a gas generator that can be activated by an external command, wherein the external command comprises an electrical signal from an automated system that is responsible for the critical safety functions of a vehicle, corresponding to predictive information about an impact. The gas generator is configured to generate a gas over a time period such that the total inflation time of the inflatable structure is greater than 50 milliseconds. The inflatable structure may be waterproof.
Passenger seat airbag and method of folding the same
A passenger seat airbag includes a passenger side wall for catching a passenger, and a circumferential wall that extends forward from the passenger side wall in a converging fashion. The circumferential wall includes an upper wall, a lower wall, a left wall and a right wall, and can be mounted on a housing by the front end. An inlet port for introducing inflation gas is disposed at a front end region of the lower side wall, at a position displaced to the right from the center in a left and right direction of the passenger side wall. In the front end region of the circumferential wall, with respect to a substantial circumferential length which permits free expansion, a left circumferential wall region disposed on the left of the inlet port and a right circumferential wall region disposed on the right of the inlet port have equal substantial circumferential lengths.
Side airbag assembly
A side inflatable airbag assembly for a vehicle is disclosed. Inflatable airbag assemblies may provide protection for an occupant in a vehicle collision event. In a side collision event, or other event producing lateral movement of the occupant relative to the vehicle, the disclosed inflatable airbag assembly may receive and support the occupant during ride down so as to prevent or minimize injury resulting from impact with a vehicle door, sidewall, center console, or other vehicle structure disposed lateral to the vehicle seating position. The disclosed airbag may differentially support the occupant buy providing varied degrees of support for the shoulder and pelvis, and the torso, which may be particularly beneficial to an elderly occupant whose bones may be more susceptible to some injury types and modes as a result of age-incident health issues.
Vehicle airbags for occupants in rear facing seats
Method and apparatus are disclosed for vehicle airbags for occupants in rear-facing seats. An example vehicle includes an instrument panel, a rear-facing seat adjacent the instrument panel and including a seatback and a headrest, and an airbag including a lower portion and an upper portion. When undeployed, the airbag is stored in the instrument panel. When the airbag deploys, the lower portion presses onto a back of the seatback and the upper portion presses onto a back of the headrest.
ROOFTOP AIRBAG APPARATUS
A rooftop airbag apparatus including: a first cushion deployed along a ceiling of a vehicle body; a second cushion connected to the first cushion and deployed toward a bottom of the vehicle body; and a third cushion connected to the second cushion and deployed in a widthwise direction of the vehicle body.
Motor vehicle seat with an integrated child seat
A motor vehicle seat with an integrated child seat comprises inflatable chambers that can be brought from a compressed air source. The child seat includes air chambers that are inflatable in multiple, e.g., three, stages, and which are fixed, e.g., adhesively bonded or stitched, to the surface of the motor vehicle seat.
AIRBAG INCLUDING INFLATION CHAMBER
An assembly includes a seatbelt and an inflation chamber connected to the seatbelt. The inflation chamber is inflatable from an undeployed state to a deployed state. The inflation chamber includes a first inflation chamber and a second inflation chamber. The first inflation chamber is positioned above the second inflation chamber.
Vehicle occupant restraint system
It is provided a vehicle occupant restraint system comprising an airbag module and a vehicle seat, wherein the airbag module comprises an inflatable gas bag and the vehicle seat comprises a backrest with a front side, a rear side, a left side, a right side and an upper side. The gas bag is arranged at the backrest of the vehicle seat in such a way that in the inflated state the gas bag extends over a portion of the rear side of the backrest, over a portion of the left or the right side of the backrest and over a portion of the upper side of the backrest and is supported on the portion of the rear side of the backrest, on the portion of the left or the right side of the backrest and on the portion of the upper side of the backrest.
Airbag device
Coupling spots are properly protected upon reception of gas pressure. A seam is possessed as a partition that partitions the interior of an airbag, and the seam is a coupling spot along which a frontal-side base fabric and a backside base fabric are coupled to each other. First and second reinforcing fabrics are provided on inner sides of the frontal-side base fabric and the backside base fabric, and the first and second reinforcing fabrics have remaining margins that are oriented toward the gas supply side in the downward direction rather than toward the seam, and each of the remaining margins functions as a shield wall against a flow of gas toward the seam.
