Vehicle airbag
A vehicle includes a first member inflatable to an inflated position in which the first member has a first and a second distal edge spaced from each other along a vehicle-longitudinal axis. The vehicle includes a second member inflatable to an inflated position, the second member in the inflated position being on a cross-vehicle axis that extends through the first distal edge. The vehicle includes a one-way vent permitting fluid flow from the first member to the second member.
Frontal airbag for vehicle occupants and airbag module
A frontal airbag for vehicle occupants, especially a passenger airbag, includes a contact panel (26) facing the vehicle occupant (12). Inside the airbag plural tethers (38) and/or partitions (38) are arranged which in portions withhold the contact panel (26) in the inflated state of the airbag (10) and form at least one lateral bead (34) and plural central beads (36) which in cross-section are smaller than the lateral beads (34). Furthermore, an airbag module is presented.
VEHICLE AIRBAGS FOR OCCUPANTS IN REAR FACING SEATS
Method and apparatus are disclosed for vehicle airbags for occupants in rear-facing seats. An example vehicle includes an instrument panel, a rear-facing seat adjacent the instrument panel and including a seatback and a headrest, and an airbag including a lower portion and an upper portion. When undeployed, the airbag is stored in the instrument panel. When the airbag deploys, the lower portion presses onto a back of the seatback and the upper portion presses onto a back of the headrest.
Vehicle including inflatable assembly supported by seat
A vehicle seat assembly includes a seatback including a left lateral panel and a right lateral panel opposite the left lateral panel, a left airbag inflatable from the left lateral panel to an inflated position, a right airbag inflatable from the right lateral panel to an inflated position, and a tether extending from the left lateral panel to the right lateral panel. The tether is connected to the airbags.
Roof airbag apparatus
A roof airbag apparatus may include: a gas injection unit configured to discharge gas; a tether guide extending in a longitudinal direction of a roof; and an airbag configured to be deployed by gas transferred from the gas injection unit. The airbag may include: a first chamber part coupled to the tether guide and configured to be deployed in a longitudinal direction of the tether guide by gas transferred from the gas injection unit; and a second chamber part coupled to the first chamber part, and configured to be deployed by gas transferred from the first chamber part and cover the first chamber part.
Roof airbag apparatus
A roof airbag apparatus includes a roof airbag cushion disposed in a folded state in a panorama roof and configured to inflate and deploy as gas is supplied from an inflator; and a diffuser disposed in the roof airbag cushion and configured to guide a deployment of the roof airbag cushion in a width direction of a vehicle when the roof airbag cushion is inflated.
AIRBAG DEVICE FOR FRONT PASSENGER SEAT
An airbag device includes an airbag. A passenger protection portion of the airbag has a frontal collision restraint surface, an oblique collision restraint surface, and a restraint recess portion. The airbag has a recess portion tether that couples a tip side of a recess of the restraint recess portion and a front end side of the airbag to each other, and at least one longitudinal tether that couples the front end side of the airbag and a recess portion-side region that is located on the restraint recess portion side with respect to a center of the frontal collision restraint surface in a lateral direction to each other, inside the airbag. The frontal collision restraint surface has at least two protruding surfaces that are configured to protrude backward, due to the longitudinal tether. The at least two protruding surfaces are arranged in alignment in the lateral direction.
AIRBAG DEVICE AND VEHICLE SEAT
When an occupant has moved from a normal seating position, a case can occur where a hood-type airbag cannot be expanded and deployed since the airbag is stopped in the process of expansion and deployment due to contact with the head of the occupant. An airbag device is provided having an airbag, and an inflator for supplying gas to the airbag. In an expanded and deployed state where expansion and deployment of the airbag has been finished, the airbag includes a head protection chamber for blanketing an occupant from a vertex part of the head to a temporal part of the head, and a pair of lateral part protection chambers that are arranged on both of the left/right sides of the head protection chamber and that blanket lateral sides of the occupant.
Side airbag and vehicle-occupant restraint system having a side airbag
A side airbag of a vehicle occupant restraint system (10) which is provided to be mounted on a vehicle seat (14) comprises an inflatable head gas cushion (18) and an inflatable torso gas cushion (20) connected to the head gas cushion (18) both of which form separate inflatable compartments of the side airbag (12). The head gas cushion (18) and the torso gas cushion (20) are formed by separate inflatable cushions which are fastened to each other in a connecting section (22). In a vehicle occupant restraint system, the side airbag (12) is mounted on a vehicle seat (14) of a vehicle on the side facing a passenger seat (16) of the vehicle.
Airbag
An airbag includes: an outer member configured to form an outer peripheral wall upon completing inflation, which includes a driver side portion configured to receive a driver, and a steering-wheel side portion supported by a steering wheel; and an inner member provided to expand inside the outer member. The inner member has a supply port for supplying inflation gas to the outer member and covers the inflow opening of the outer member to be arranged on an upstream side of flow of the inflation gas flowing from the inflow opening into the airbag such that a higher pressure can be maintained in the inner member than the outer member. The inner member includes a front support inflating portion configured to support a portion of the driver side portion of the outer member at least at a front side upon completing inflation of the airbag.
