Airbag for a passenger seat
An airbag for a passenger seat adapted to be stored in a storage which is disposed in an instrument panel in front of a passenger seat is disclosed. The airbag includes a passenger-side wall which is disposed in a rear portion of the airbag as deployed for arresting a passenger, and a vehicle-side wall that extends from an outer circumferential edge of the passenger-side wall towards a front end of the airbag as deployed in a narrowing fashion for mounting on the storage by the front end. The vehicle-side wall includes a recessed area for circumventing an adjoining object disposed in the vehicle when deployed. The recessed area is composed of a tuck formed in a base member of the vehicle-side wall. The tuck is formed by jointing one or more pair of tuck jointing portions that are distant from one another in the base member as laid flat.
Airbag having knee chamber and upper chamber
An airbag assembly includes an airbag having a knee chamber and an upper chamber. A wall fluidly isolates the knee chamber and the upper chamber. A sleeve extends from the knee chamber through the wall to the upper chamber and fluidly communicates the knee chamber and the upper chamber. A one-way vent is in the sleeve. The one-way vent allows for the knee chamber and the upper chamber to be maintained at different relative pressures.
Passenger protection apparatus
[Problem] To provide a side airbag apparatus capable of quickly and properly restraining a passenger in the initial stage of deploying an airbag, along with a passenger protection apparatus including this side airbag apparatus. [Resolution means] A side airbag apparatus employed in a passenger protection apparatus according to the present invention includes: an airbag for restraining a passenger when expanded and deployed; and an inflator for supplying expansion gas to the airbag. The airbag includes: a first chamber which houses the inflator and is deployed outside in the vehicle width direction of the frame side wall part; a second chamber which is deployed inside in the vehicle width direction of the frame side wall part with respect to this first chamber; and an internal expanding part which is arranged in the second chamber and expands at least on the rear side of the vehicle in the second chamber via the gas flowing out from the first chamber. In addition, the first chamber is deployed such that at least a portion thereof, as seen from the vehicle side, overlaps the frame side wall part, while the second chamber is configured to be expandable via the gas flowing out from the internal expanding part.

Airbag apparatus for vehicle
An airbag apparatus for a vehicle includes an inflator, an airbag configured to be expanded and deployed from an instrument panel when supplied with gas so as to be positioned on a front side of an occupant, and a flow guide cloth disposed inside the airbag. The flow guide cloth is configured to be expanded and deployed when the gas flows into the flow guide cloth and discharge the gas into the airbag. A rear end portion is spaced from a rear wall of the airbag. A rear outlet is disposed in the rear end portion and configured to discharge the gas into a rear end portion of the airbag. A front outlet is disposed in a front portion and configured to discharge the gas into a front portion of the airbag. An opening area of the rear outlet is larger than an opening area of the front outlet.
Steering wheel airbag device
A steering wheel airbag device includes an airbag and an inflator. The airbag includes: a bag body; and a rectifying member rectifies expansion gas discharged from the inflator. The rectifying member is provided with three gas outlet ports so that the expansion gas can flow out substantially along a ring surface of the ring portion and to left, right, and rear three sides. The rectifying member is configured by partially joining outer peripheral edges of a vehicle body side panel and a driver side panel. The vehicle body side panel is configured to have three joining portions which are joined to corresponding outer peripheral edges of the driver side panel and three non-joining regions between the joining portions arranged on an outer peripheral edge side of the flat surface portion. The gas outlet port is configured by a portion of the non-joining region between the joining portions.

Driver airbag device
An airbag device, including: a gas generator that generates expansion gas; an airbag that expands and deploys by the expansion gas to restrain an occupant; and a gas rectifying member provided inside the airbag so as to cover the occupant side of the gas generator, and that controls the flow of the expansion gas. The gas rectifying member is formed from a flat panel including a portion bilaterally symmetrical to a line connecting 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock (X axis) when a plane parallel to a rim of the steering wheel is regarded as a clock face, and has a configuration where a lower opening portion for discharging the expansion gas in a 6 o'clock direction is formed by stitching left and right edge portions of the panel together, and the occupant side of the gas generator is covered.
