Side airbag apparatus
A side airbag apparatus includes an airbag that is configured to be deployed and inflated between a body side portion of a vehicle and an occupant seated in a seat in a passenger compartment by a pressure of gas supplied from an inflator. The airbag includes an outer bag and an inner bag, which is provided in the outer bag and accommodates the inflator. The inner bag includes an upper-side inflation portion, which projects forward when inflated to correspond to the shoulder of the occupant, a lower-side inflation portion, which projects forward when inflated to correspond to the lumbar region of the occupant, and a recessed portion, which is provided between the upper-side inflation portion and the lower-side inflation portion. The inner bag includes a connecting hole that connects the inside and the outside of the inner bag to each other.
Seat-mounted air bag device
An air bag device in which due to coupling between airbag chambers, a passenger is directly restrained in a seat located at each of various positions such that the air bag device responds to various collision modes. The air bag device includes a bridge chamber unfolding in a shape covering a first side of a seat and a front thereof, and a hook chamber unfolding in a shape covering a second side of the seat and the front thereof and coupled to the bridge chamber by a first coupling device in a part overlapping with the bridge chamber.
AIR BAG DEVICE
An air bag device in which due to coupling between airbag chambers, a passenger is directly restrained in a seat located at each of various positions such that the air bag device responds to various collision modes. The air bag device includes a bridge chamber unfolding in a shape covering a first side of a seat and a front thereof, and a hook chamber unfolding in a shape covering a second side of the seat and the front thereof and coupled to the bridge chamber by a first coupling means in a part overlapping with the bridge chamber.
Curtain airbag device for vehicle
A restraint performance improvement portion of a curtain airbag device for a vehicle is provided at a location of a lower end portion of a curtain airbag which location corresponds with a vehicle seat when the vehicle seat is in a comfortable state. The restraint performance improvement portion inhibits a head area of a vehicle occupant from slipping past the curtain airbag to a vehicle width direction outer side thereof when the vehicle occupant is being restrained.
SIDE AIRBAG DEVICE
The side airbag device is composed of a cushion that expands and deploys toward the front of the vehicle in the vehicle cabin to restrain an occupant seated in a seat from the side, and an inflater that is encased in the cushion and supplies the gas that expands and deploys the cushion, wherein the cushion is provided with a first panel facing the side position of the occupant in an expanded and deployed state and a second panel joined to the first panel positioned on the opposite side of the occupant, of the first panel and second panel, an insertion hole is provided at a position near the rear end of one of the panels and a stud bolt is inserted to fasten the inflater to the vehicle structure, and the cushion is attached to the wall facing toward the front of the vehicle.
Airbag and method of manufacturing the same
An airbag includes a mounting portion, a top wall deployable towards a vehicle occupant, and a circumferential wall disposed between the mounting portion and top wall. An airbag base member for forming the airbag includes a top-forming panel for forming the top wall, and at least three circumferential panels that extend generally radially from the top-forming panel and form the circumferential wall by being joined together by adjoining edges thereof. Each of the circumferential panels is formed into a generally band-like contour which has a first and a second curving edges that make the circumferential panel enlarge in width from the leading end towards an intermediate portion and then narrow towards the top-forming panel. When the airbag base member is laid flat, adjoining edges of any two adjoining circumferential panels are generally symmetrical to each other in curving shape with respect to a line disposed there between.
SIDE IMPACT AIRBAG FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE
A side impact cushion device of a motor vehicle contains at least one impact cushion which can be inflated by a gas generator. The impact cushion in an installation state has an upper portion, a central portion and a lower portion. In this case, the upper portion is arranged substantially horizontally in a deployed state, the central portion is formed in the form of a shell surface of a rotationally symmetrical, developable body, the lower portion can be supported on an upper side of an armrest and a rotational axis of the rotationally symmetrical body is oriented vertically in the deployed state.
Mounting tab assemblies for securing an airbag to a vehicle
Tabs for coupling or securing an airbag to a vehicle are provided. A tab may include a first panel and a second panel that meet at a foldable portion. First and second arms may extend away from a central portion of the first panel in substantially opposite directions. First and second recesses may extend inward from first and second lateral edges, respectively, of the second panel. The tab may be configured to be folded to form a bracket receiving member. The bracket receiving member may be configured to be disposed through an aperture of a bracket to secure the tab to the vehicle. Additionally, the first and second panels of the tab may be configured to be secured to an airbag to secure the airbag to the vehicle via the tab and the bracket.
Automobile interior component
An automotive interior component with an airbag door includes: a core member covering a front pillar and including a hinge part; and a surface member stretched so as to cover a front surface of the core member. The airbag door is a site of the core member partitioned by the hinge part which site is capable of abutting on an airbag. The surface member includes a fold part extending to an outer edge side of a rear surface of the core member so as to cover an edge part connecting between the front surface and the rear surface of the core member. The fold part includes a first fold part not crossing the hinge part and positioned on the airbag door side, and a second fold part bent from the first fold part and crossing the hinge part. The first and second fold parts are stitched with a thread.
ASSEMBLY INCLUDING FOAM PAD FIXED TO AIRBAG
An assembly includes an airbag that has a panel defining an inflation chamber. The assembly includes a foam pad exterior to the inflation chamber with the foam pad fixed to the panel of the airbag. The foam pad is intended to provide an additional layer of reinforcement for the inflation chamber 18 when the foam pad interacts with its surroundings upon inflation.
