Bicycle frame and method of converting to electronic shifting system
10207771 · 2019-02-19 ·

The present disclosure relates to devices and methods of converting a bicycle frame from a mechanical gear-shifting configuration to an electronic gear-shifting configuration and vice versa. In a representative embodiment, a method of converting a bicycle frame from a mechanical gear-shifting configuration to an electronic gear-shifting configuration comprises removing a mechanical cable extending between a mechanical gear-shift actuator and a mechanical gear shifter via a cable stop of a removable bracket member secured to a down tube member of the bicycle frame, and removing the removable bracket member from the down tube member of the bicycle frame. The method further comprises mounting an electronically-actuated gear shifter to the bicycle frame in electrical communication with an electronic gear-shift actuator such that actuation of the electronic gear-shift actuator causes the electronically-actuated gear shifter to shift gears.

BICYCLE FRONT FORK AND INTERNAL CABLE ROUTING SYSTEM
20180273132 · 2018-09-27 · ·

A front fork for a bicycle is disclosed. The bicycle includes a handlebar, a stem, a headset, a frame and the front fork. The frame has a top tube, a down tube and a hollow head tube, and the stem secures the handlebar to the front fork via the headset such that movement of the handlebar results in movement of the stem and the front fork. The front fork comprises a pair of hollow tubular fork legs and a hollow steerer tube connected to the pair of hollow tubular fork legs and has a first opening formed thereon. Wherein the hollow head tube has a second opening formed thereon and corresponding and communicating to the first opening of the hollow steerer tube when the hollow steerer tube of the front fork is secured to the stem through the hollow head tube.

MECHANICAL ACTUATION DEVICE FOR ACTUATING THE CONTROL CABLE OF A BICYCLE DERAILLEUR
20180229806 · 2018-08-16 · ·

A bicycle gear shifter that has a control pin and a cable-winding bush mounted coaxially and rotatable in opposite angular directions. A ball-carrying bush is mounted coaxially for rotation as a unit with the cable-winding bush and is equipped with at least one slider. An indexing bush is rotatable with respect to the control pin is provided with a plurality of stop positions engageable during a relative rotation between the ball-carrying bush and the indexing bush, each stop position defining a stable angular position for the cable-winding bush. A pointer is switchable between an active position in which it interacts with the indexing bush to limit the angular play thereof with respect to the casing and a passive position in which it does not interact with the indexing bush and does not limit the angular position between the indexing bush and the casing.
