SWADDLING DEVICE WITH ADJUSTABLE WRAP
A swaddling device is described. The swaddling device includes a sack configured to substantially enclose a baby. The sack includes sleeves and an attached wrap configured to swaddle the baby. The swaddling device at least partially restricts movement of the baby and thereby suppresses the Moro Reflex, while also snugly enveloping the torso of the baby and thereby providing constant moderate pressure thereto. The wrap is sufficiently narrow so as not to restrict movement of the baby's hips and knees, while also providing access to the lower portion of the baby for diaper changes. Some versions of the device include sleeves having at their ends foldover mitten cuffs or other selectively openable mechanism. The cuffs allow a caregiver to expose the hand or hands of the baby so as to provide skin-to-skin contact. Alternatively, the caregiver can close the cuffs if scratching is a concern.
Cold weather sleeping bag for young children
Insulated sleeping bags suitable for use in outdoor environments in ambient temperatures at least as low as 0° F./−18° C. are disclosed. Particularly, the sleeping bags are sized to accommodate young children. The disclosed sleeping bags ensure that the young child using the sleeping bag is insulated against cold ambient temperatures during sleep and eliminates the suffocation hazards posed by previously known cold weather sleeping arrangements for young children.
Swaddling device
A swaddling device is described. The swaddling device is Y-shaped pod shaped and configured to substantially enclose a baby. The device includes sleeves having at their ends foldover mitten cuffs or similar selectively openable fasteners. The cuffs allow a caregiver to expose the hand or hands of the baby so as to provide skin-to-skin contact. Alternatively, the caregiver can close the cuffs if scratching is a concern. The device is shaped to provide support and snugness for the baby in its mid-section, while also providing sufficient space for hips and knees to flex. The design of the Swaddle Sack with swaddle snugness provides support and partial suppression of the Moro Reflex without arm restraints and allowing sufficient range of motion for baby's upper section which will reduce risk of suffocation for baby in the event that baby rolls over to prone position, because baby will be able to use his or her arms to reposition his or her head to get access to air.
Article of Apparel
