A lightweight pallet assembly comprising a hybrid of durable corrugated material and heat-treated wood bonded with industrial strength adhesive. The sleeve component substantially covers both the one or more base components and the two or more support components to increase strength and durability of the overall pallet assembly. Embodiments of the pallet can be quickly assembled from components that can be easily and economically stored and transported. An assembly of stacked mattresses and a method for preparing such an assembly are provided. The assembly of stacked mattresses comprises a first pallet, a second pallet, a plurality of mattresses positioned between the first pallet and the second pallet and straps coupling the first pallet to the second pallet, the plurality of mattresses being in a compressed state between the first pallet and the second pallet and the straps restraining expansion of the plurality of mattresses. The second pallet is comprised of a supporting member and a plurality of elongated reinforcing members extending across the supporting member, at least some of the reinforcing members including respective strap guiding members extending longitudinally along the elongated reinforcing member. At least some of the straps engage respective ones of the strap guiding members of the plurality of elongated reinforcing member of the second pallet so that displacement of the straps is constrained by the strap guiding members. In accordance with another aspect, a pallet for using in shipping bedding products is provided.

A method for making a pallet includes forming a base layer, forming a cargo layer, and forming wooden support blocks. The method further includes coating the wooden support blocks with a plastic layer to form plastic coated wooden support blocks. The base and cargo layers are coupled to the plastic coated wooden support blocks, with a gap being formed therebetween for receiving a lifting member.

The invention relates to a detachable pallet which comprises a plurality of slides and a plurality of cross-members, wherein the slides comprise anchoring elements, both rigid stops and flexible stops, which contribute to attaching the cross-members to the slides, all in cooperation with tongues and grooves provided in the sides of the cross-members, which are inserted into one another creating a solid, robust joint and a complete load surface. The pallet can also have a tie rod joined to the bottom of the slides, securing same and providing greater robustness to the assembly, allowing it to be used on roller lines.

A system and method are provided for manufacturing a plastic pallet having a plurality of runner assemblies with embedded support structures. Each runner assembly may include a top runner board, a bottom runner board, and a plurality of support structures embedded into the top and bottom runner boards. The pallet may be manufactured using heat to at least partially penetrate and soften the runner boards, to soften the support structures, and to weld the support structures to the runner boards in an embedded manner.

Composite pallets and methods for making and using composite pallets are disclosed. An example composite pallet may include a base layer. The base layer may include a first base board, a second base board, and a cross-member extending between the first base board and the second base board. The cross-member may include a first end region designed to be detachably coupled to the first base board, a second end region designed to be detachably coupled to the second base board, and at least one curved section positioned between the first end region and the second end region. The cross-member may include a polymer. An intermediate layer may be coupled to the base layer. The intermediate layer may include a plurality of intermediate boards. A top layer may be coupled to the intermediate layer. The top layer may include a plurality of top boards.
