LATCH ASSEMBLY AND A METHOD OF LATCHING A FIRST ELEMENT TO A SECOND ELEMENT
A latch assembly having first and second parts for association with first and second elements, respectively. The first and second parts are configured to cooperate to releasably secure the first element to the second element. The first part has a latch member for releasably engaging a catch member on the second part when the latch member is manipulated from an unlatched configuration to a latched configuration. A latch member holder associated with the first part is adapted to hold the latch member while allowing the latch member to pivot about a pivot axis, and slide along a sliding axis which is perpendicular to said pivot axis. The latch member is manipulable into the latched configuration in a predetermined range of contiguous positions relative to the latch member holder along the sliding axis. A method of releasably securing the first element to the second element is also disclosed.
Elastomer coated foam cooler and carrying strap system
The invention consists of a cooler system entailing a foamed polymer body coated in a layer of elastomer and secured with a strap system. The body of the cooler consists of a base which serves as a container for beverages or other products as well as a lid, designed to fit the base such that it can only be removed by lifting upward. The foamed polymer provides insulation and structure while the elastomer coating and the straps provide increased durability and functionality. The body of the cooler contains grooves in which the straps are housed in order to secure the lid. The strap system also provides a means for carrying the invention as an anchoring place for handles. The resulting cooler system is lightweight and durable as well as inexpensive to construct.
Locking apparatus for container
A locking apparatus has a receiving component that includes outer sidewalls extending upward from a first surface to form a raised portion, the raised portion having a receiving surface within a periphery defined by the outer sidewalls, and inner sidewalls extending downward from the receiving surface to form a cavity within the raised portion, the cavity having a cross-sectional area that decreases in proportion to the downward extension of the inner sidewalls, and a first locking structure. The locking apparatus also has an insertion component that includes sidewalls extending upward from a second surface and defining a cross-sectional area that decreases in proportion to the upward extension of the sidewalls, and also includes a second locking structure that is operatively associated with the first locking structure so that when the insertion component is inserted into the receiving component the first locking structure and the second locking structure interlock.
Container lid
The invention teaches a container lid product for controlling access to a container. The container lid comprises one or more hollow molded hinges with solid compressed area to eliminate any seam in use pivotally connecting the product to the container, a hollow-molded edge disposed adjacent to the one or more hollow-molded hinges, and a single-walled cover portion being connected to the hollow-molded edge. The single-walled cover has a length and a width and comprises a plurality of ribs extending the length of the single-walled cover. The single-walled cover has a peripheral rim with an undercut for stiffening. Each the one or more hollow molded hinges comprises an elongate knuckle. The hollow-molded edges comprises a top layer and a bottom layer.
Selectively removable wall portable container assembly and method of use
A selectively removable wall portable container assembly that includes a portable container body and a detachable lid capable of selectively removably coupling to one another and achieving a retained configuration. The portable container body includes a bottom wall coupled to sidewall enclosing the bottom wall, defining a container cavity. The sidewall defines a front opening spatially coupled to the container cavity and includes a selectively removable sidewall portion that superimposes the front opening and is operably configured to translate along a sidewall translation path. The assembly achieves an encapsulated configuration wherein the container cavity is encapsulated by the lid, bottom wall, and sidewall. Further, the assembly achieves a container cavity access configuration wherein the lid is coupled to the container body and the sidewall portion is at least partially slidably removed from the sidewall, exposing the front opening.
FOOD STORAGE CONTAINER WITH A REVERSIBLE LID
Containers for storing food in a storage compartment may include a base portion of the container. The storage compartment is sealed with a film to get the food stored in the storage compartment fresh. The container further includes a reversible lid that is able to attach to the base portion of the container in two different configurations. In a first configuration the reversible lid attaches to the base portion without affecting the seal created by the film. In a second configuration the reversible lid attaches to the base portion when the lid is inverted and the film is removed from the base portion.
Systems and methods for containers with locking lug and recess
Thermoformed locking assembly comprising a first web portion including locking lug having lug undercut defining a cantilevered lug ledge having lug engaging surface, second web portion including locking recess having recess undercut defining an opposing recess ledge having recess engaging surface and a lug stop opposite the recess undercut. Locking recess configured to receive locking lug and lug stop configured to position locking lug in locking recess with the lug engaging surface in engagement with the recess engaging surface when first web portion is moved towards second web portion.
Storage chest with secondary storage compartment
An example storage chest is provided. The example storage chest may include a box portion and a lid. The box portion may include a front wall, a rear wall, and a floor attached to the front and rear walls to form a primary compartment for storage of items. The lid may include a front panel, a rear panel, and a top panel attached to the front a rear panels. The rear panel may be pivotably coupled to the rear wall of the box portion. The front panel, the rear panel, and the top panel may define a secondary compartment within the lid for storage of items. The secondary compartment may include a lid storage compartment comprising a hingedly affixed door.
Container and latching system
A container is disclosed that has a base and a lid that is rotatable about a hinge from a closed configuration to an open configuration. The lid may be secured to the base with a latch assembly. A latch assembly may have a locked position and an unlocked position, where the latch assembly includes: a latch body pivotally connected to the lid, a latch button slidably connected with the latch body, the latch button having a latch button-locking member, a latch-locking arm pivotally connected to the latch body, and a latch-locking arm biasing member that exerts a rotational force on the latch-locking arm. When the latch assembly is moved to the locked position, the latch-locking arm may engage the base and rotate against the rotational force from the latch-locking arm causing the latch button to move against the linear force until the latch button-locking member engages the arm-locking member.
MODULAR STORAGE CONTAINER
A storage container having a base storage compartment configured to receive a divider by which the storage compartment is divided into two or more sub-compartments, wherein divider comprises one or more engagement features for selectively engaging with the storage container, the storage container further having a retainer lid configured to retain a divider within an engagement surface of the storage container.
