COMPENSATORY ACTIONS FOR AUTOMATED FARMING MACHINE FAILURE
As a farming machine travels through a field of plants, the farming machine operates in a normal operational state to perform one or more farming operations. The farming machine detects an operational failure of a component of the farming machine using measurements obtained from one or more sensors coupled to and monitoring the farming machine. The operational failure of the component impacts performance of a first farming operation of the farming operations. The farming machine configures the farming machine to operate in a remedial operational state. In the remedial operational state, the farming machine diagnoses the operational failure of the component using the obtained measurements. In the remedial operational state, the farming machine selects a solution operation to address the operational failure of the component based on the diagnosis. The farming machine performs the determined solution operation.
Agricultural sprayer control system
An agricultural sprayer has a fluid delivery network that supplies one or more sets of spaced-apart nozzles for the application of plant protection products. An electronic controller is arranged to receive and store an operating parameter for each one of a plurality of drift reduction classes. The operating parameter may be an upper pressure limit. The controller is operable to control at least one of a pump, a vehicle speed, a nozzle selection, and a display based on the operating parameter of a selected one of the plurality of drift reduction classes.
AUTOMATIC TARGET RECOGNITION AND DISPENSING SYSTEM
An automated apparatus, method and system for projecting a control agent toward a recognised target for the purposes of agricultural cultivation or environmental management or various other applications; a source of the control agent adapted for use in connection with an environmental control function, an outlet incorporating at least one outlet orifice to direct the control agent emanating from the outlet orifice toward a target. An activation means is movable between an operative mode and an inoperative mode in which the outlet is effectively closed. A targeting mechanism movable on at least one independent control axis provided for selectively orienting the outlet orifice and thereby orienting the control agent in the operative mode. A first sensing system, a classification system, a control system in accordance with a predetermined control logic adapted to deliver doses of the control agent to the identified targets for the purposes of the environmental control function.
TURBULENCE MONITORING AND FORECASTING SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Systems and methods are for determining and/or forecasting local atmospheric stability and/or turbulence. This information can be used to inform decisions regarding crop spraying, such as whether the atmospheric conditions are sufficiently turbulent to avoid airborne spray fines drifting in an undesirable manner. For example, a spray drift hazard alert system can include a data logger. The data logger is configured to: receive local meteorological observation data from one or more sensors at a location, analyze the data to determine a local vertical turbulence characteristic indicative of a current level of vertical turbulence at the location, compare the vertical turbulence characteristic with a predetermined threshold of the vertical turbulence characteristic, and transmit information to a client device indicating whether local meteorological conditions are suitable for crop spraying based on the comparison between the vertical turbulence characteristic and the predetermined threshold.
MODIFIED PLANTS AND METHODS OF DETECTING PATHOGENIC DISEASE
Genetically modified plants and methods of detecting diseases by a relevant color change in the genetically modified plant compared to a non-genetically modified plant are provided. Also disclosed is a system for remote detection of pathogens on crops and a methods for treating crops under a pathogenic attack.
VEHICLES AND METHODS FOR TREATING AN AGRICULTURAL FIELD
A vehicle for treating an agricultural field includes a weeding-injection unit and a control unit. The weeding-injection unit includes a valve, at least one weeding knife, at least one actuator configured to move the at least one weeding knife, an injection line carried by the at least one weeding knife, and a valve configured to regulate flow of a substance through the injection line. The control unit is configured to identify a plant and control the at least one actuator and the valve to treat the identified plant. Related methods are also disclosed.
FARMING MACHINE WITH FORWARD-LOOKING SENSOR SYSTEM AND ACTUATABLE BEAM
Embodiments relate to a farming machine that includes a beam, an actuator system, a sensor system, and a control system. The beam extends away from a body of the farming machine. The actuator system controls a position of the actuatable beam relative to the body. The sensor system generates measurement data that indicates the position of a ground point in front of a component of the farming machine relative to the sensor system. The control system determines a target beam height for the ground point. Based on the measurement data and the target beam height, the control system actuates the actuator system to adjust the position of the beam. As a result of the position adjustment, the height of the beam relative to the ground is equal to the target beam height prior to the component passing over the ground point.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR AN AGRICULTURAL APPLICATOR
An agricultural system can include a boom assembly supporting one or more nozzle assemblies there along. A boom adjustment system can be operably coupled with the boom assembly. A sensing system can be configured to capture data indicative of one or more application variables. A computing system can be communicatively coupled to the boom adjustment system and the sensing system. The computing system can be configured to receive, from the sensing system, the data associated with the one or more application variables, calculate a spray quality index based on the data associated with the one or more application variables, and generate an output to change a position of the boom assembly through the boom adjustment system based at least in part on the calculated spray quality index deviating from a defined range.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR AN AGRICULTURAL APPLICATOR
A method for an agricultural application operation is provided herein. The method includes receiving a target application condition for an agricultural product to be exhausted from a nozzle assembly through an input device. The method also includes receiving an agricultural product flow condition and data related to boom movement from a sensing system. In addition, the method includes receiving a first duty cycle from a computing system. The method further includes determining a detected application condition based on the agricultural product flow condition, the data related to boom movement, and the first duty cycle with the computing system. Lastly, the method includes generating a duty cycle command based on a comparison of the target application condition to the detected application condition with the computing system.
