The present disclosure relates to support members for brassieres and other clothing. The support member may be manufactured by additive manufacturing, subtractive manufacturing methods, and injection molding, among others. The support member may include a thickness gradient devised to support a breast or other part of the anatomy. The support member may be customized to the anatomy of a particular user. The support member may include one or more biometric sensors.

Example embodiments of the present general inventive concept provide a postsurgical convalescence shirt including a placket to open and close the convalescence shirt, and one or more receiving compartments provided inside the convalescence shirt proximate a lower portion thereof, and configured to receive a drain reservoir connected to drainage tubing to drain fluid from a surgical area of a patient's body.

A garment (e.g., a bra) can include an inner pumping panel with layers of material. A first portion of the layers of material of the inner pumping panel may be situated on a left side of the bra to cover a portion of the wearer's left breast and can be fastened together and define a first opening. A second portion of the layers of material of the inner pumping panel may be situated on a right side of the bra to cover a portion of the wearer's right breast, and can be fastened together and define a second opening. The first and second openings are each disposed at an oblique angle relative to a bottom edge of the bra and are sized and positioned so as to help support at least a portion of a breast pump disposable through the first and/or second opening.

The inventive subject matter provides breast supports that can advantageously be used with various types of bras to enhance the appearance and comfort provided. Contemplated breast supports include removable and insertable bra inserts, as well as breast supports that form a part of a bra. Breast supports can include padding and an internal support, each of which can be partially or completely enclosed in a cover material. The internal support can comprise a sheet of material including a multi-peaked upper edge, a rounded lower edge, and a mid-portion extending between the upper and lower edges.

A breast prosthesis comprises a resiliently-compliant silicone shell (1;11) which has an outer wall (2;12) configured to simulate the shape of a female breast. The wall (2;12) is fretted with an ornamental pattern of perforations (6;16) that vent the internal cavity (4;14) of the shell (1;11), and ribs (5;15) within the cavity (4;14) extend across it in resiliently supporting and retaining the breast-shape of the shell (1;11). The ribs (5;15) are interconnected with one another and are molded integrally with the outer wall (2;12). The shell (1:11) has a flat peripheral rim (3:13) to the cavity (4:14).

A woman's undergarment with cup sections includes a pair of left and right brassiere cups, cup cover pieces, straps, back pieces, a support panel, and lift-up pieces. A lower edge of each of the brassiere cups is sewn to a lower edge of the lift-up piece. A side edge and an upper edge of the brassiere cup are detached from the cup cover piece. The lift-up piece is disposed between the brassiere cup and the cup cover piece. The brassiere cup has an opening in a corner region including an upper end of the brassiere cup. An insertion portion of the lift-up piece is disposed to pass through the opening.

A nursing brassiere generally comprises a band, a first cup, a second cup, a bridge, and straps. The cups are positionable between a support position and one or more nursing positions. Each cup includes a lower edge that is at least partially detached from the band when the first cup is in the nursing position. The straps are connected to the first cup and the second cup and the band to form loops sized to fit over shoulders of the wearer. The nursing brassiere also comprises coupling members attached to the cups, the straps, the band, and/or the bridge to allow the cups to be positioned in the support position and one or more nursing positions.

A bra including: an elongated front strap; and an elongated back strap; wherein at least one end portion of the back strap is adapted to overlap and be fastened to at least one corresponding end portion of the front strap, so that the bra can be put on and fastened to a wearer's torso by using a single hand; and wherein at least one of the end portions of at least one of the front strap and the back strap includes an elongated stiffening element, the stiffening element stiffening the end portion horizontally to maintain a horizontal orientation of the end portion when the bra is hanging on the wearer's body before being fastened.

A bra including: an elongated front strap; and an elongated back strap; wherein at least one end portion of the back strap is adapted to overlap and be fastened to at least one corresponding end portion of the front strap, so that the bra can be put on and fastened to a wearer's torso by using a single hand; and wherein at least one of the end portions of at least one of the front strap and the back strap includes an elongated stiffening element, the stiffening element stiffening the end portion horizontally to maintain a horizontal orientation of the end portion when the bra is hanging on the wearer's body before being fastened.

A brassiere includes bra cups holding a wearer's breasts. A shaping foam layer is sandwiched between outer and inner layers of each bra cup and extends from a lower to an upper edge of each cup. A support shelf assembly spans across a lower portion of each bra cup and includes a support component located proximate the lower edge of the cups, a non-stretch stabilizer fabric layer spanning between both cups and along a full length of the support component, and a supportive foam layer spanning between both cups and along the support component. The inner, outer, shaping foam, stabilizer fabric, and supportive foam layers span across a center gore that connects the bra cups to form a front panel of the brassiere. The support shelf assembly is molded between the inner layer and the shaping foam layer and is an embedded, integral part of the front panel.
