A fabric-based item may include fabric layers and other layers of material. An array of electrical components may be mounted in the fabric-based item. The electrical components may be mounted to a support structure such as a flexible printed circuit. The flexible printed circuit may have a mesh shape formed from an array of openings. Serpentine flexible printed circuit segments may extend between the openings. The electrical components may be light-emitting diodes or other electrical devices. Polymer with light-scattering particles or other materials may cover the electrical components. The flexible printed circuit may be laminated between fabric layers or other layers of material in the fabric-based item.
MONITORING VITAL PARAMETERS OF A COMPRESSION GARMENT WEARER
Monitoring vital parameters of a wearer of a compression garment by analyzing a pressure signal waveform indicative of a fluid pressure in an inflatable and deflatable bladder of the compression garment. Analyzing the pressure signal waveform for an oscillating amplitude as a function of time and/or a representation of a pulse of the wearer provides an indication of blood pressure of the wearer.
Sense-enabled apparel
Systems and methods for integrating and using sensor system in articles of apparel are provided. The system may include an apparel piece sized and dimensioned to be worn on a user and a sensor system integrated with the apparel piece. The sensor system may include at least one stretchable capacitive sensor positioned on the apparel piece so as to measure a biometric parameter of the user when the apparel piece is worn, an illumination system configured to provide illumination in a specified illumination area based on the measured biometric parameter of the user, and a control module to control one or more settings of the illumination system.
APPAREL WITH WIRELESS-POWERED SENSORS
An article of apparel, system, and methods optionally include a textile material, a mobile device holder, coupled to the textile material, configured to secure a mobile device with respect to the article of apparel, and an electrical system. The electrical system includes an antenna, configured to communicatively couple with a primary antenna of the mobile device, positioned in relation to the holder, a power supply, coupled to the antenna, configured to output power based on a current as generated in the antenna when communicatively coupled with the primary antenna, a controller, coupled to the power supply, operable based on the power as output by the power supply, and a sensor, coupled to the textile material, communicatively coupled to the controller via a conductor, configured to detect a sensor condition and output a sensor signal when powered by the power output by the power supply.
Vibrating therapeutic apparel
A therapeutic apparel article is configured with a supple wearable fabric article that can be configured over limb or nub of an amputated limb. The therapeutic apparel article is configured with a plurality of nodes for detachably attaching vibrating devices thereto. In addition, a control unit having a power source may be detachably attached to the wearable fabric article. A conductive network may extend from the control unit and/or the power source to provide electrical power to the nodes and the vibrating devices attached. A user may attach vibrating devices to various nodes of the wearable fabric article as desired. In addition, the vibrating devices and the control unit can be detached from the wearable fabric article to enable the wearable fabric article to be washed.
Glove having electronic components and a flexible printed circuit board
A glove having a palm section, a dorsal section and an electrical device including at least one first component, one second component and a signal line. The first component is provided on the dorsal section and the second component is provided on a section of the glove that is different to the dorsal section. The signal line connects the components to each other electrically and includes a flexible printed circuit board with at least one conductor. The third component is provided on the palm section, on the dorsal section or on a lateral section of the glove, and the second component is provided at the location of the glove that rests on the index finger or the metacarpophalangeal joint of the index finger of a user's hand in the worn condition of the glove. The conductor is designed redundantly. A system including a glove and a functional unit.
Safety-monitoring garment system
A safety-monitoring garment system is used to thoroughly monitor the health and performance of a user. The system includes a garment, at least one health-monitoring sensor, at least one performance-tracking sensor, a microcontroller, a user controller, and a portable power source. The garment is preferably a jacket for the user. The at least one health-monitoring sensor continuously monitors the vitals of the user, and the at least one performance-tracking sensor monitors the performance status of the user. The microcontroller stores, analyzes, and delivers the data from the at least one health-monitoring sensor and the at least one performance-tracking sensor to an external computing device. The user controller manages the at least one health-monitoring sensor and the at least one performance-tracking sensor. The portable power source provides the necessary power for the at least one health-monitoring sensor, the at least one performance-tracking sensor, the microcontroller, and the user controller.
Electrically heated garment with pass-through battery pocket
A heated article of clothing including a garment body, a heater coupled to the garment body, a heater supply cable configured to provide electrical power to the heater, and a battery pack configured to power to the heater by way of the heater supply cable. The garment body includes a first compartment configured to hold the battery pack, a second compartment configured to alternatively hold the battery pack, and a pass-through connecting the first compartment to the second compartment internally within the garment body such that the battery pack is movable between the first and second compartments while remaining coupled with the heater supply cable.
