Personal protection system including a hood with a transparent face shield and control buttons on the face shield
A personal protection system (30,178,290) including a helmet (32,180) to which a garment (102,236) is mounted. The helmet (32,180) includes an electrically powered assembly such as a fan (92,266,268,272). At least one button (120,134,262,264) for regulating operation of the electrically powered assembly (92,266,268,272) is mounted to the face shield (110,240) of the garment (102,236). The helmet (32,180) includes a detector (85) that is connected to and monitors the state of the button (120,134,262,264). When the button (120,134,262,264) is depressed, the detector (85) sends a signal to a controller (88) that regulates the actuation of the electrically powered assembly. The controller (88) then sets the operating state of the assembly (92,266,268,272) so that the assembly (92,266,268,272) operates in the state desired by the individual wearing the personal protection system (30,178,290) based on the depression of the control button (120,134,262,264).
MODULAR FASHION ACCESSORIES WITH INTEGRATED ELECTRONIC FUNCTIONALITY
The present invention is designed to allow for complete customization of a flexible item, e.g. a modular handbag system. The invention can therefore be outfitted for multi-uses, such as a personal handbag, diaper bag, backpack, insulated cooler, storage tote, satchel, laptop and work bag, or a gym bag among other uses, with handles or shoulder strap or other carrying options as applicable. Said bag system may comprise one or more outer bag shells which allow for straps and/or handles and/or modular attachments to be attached to it. An outer bag shell may house a modular inner bag outfitted with a series of fastener systems to allow for complete interior customization. Furthermore, the present invention describes a fully functional smart flexible item, e.g. smart bag that espouses a system for delivering power from a battery located in an outer bag shell, and/or in an inner bag, and/or in a modular attachment (e.g. pockets) to an outer bag shell, and/or an inner bag, and/or one or more modular attachments featuring technological components. Finally, the power delivery system can be applied to a variety of soft goods, most notably: clothing, outdoor gear, home furnishing covers, and personal accessories.
WEARABLE NETWORKING AND ACTIVITY MONITORING DEVICE
This invention relates to a wearable networking and activity monitoring device. According to the invention there is provided a wearable networking and activity monitoring device comprising a wearable garment, electronic circuitry comprising at least one conductive member integrally formed with the wearable garment and a network router attached to the garment, the network router configured to operatively broadcast a wireless local area network around the garment enabling a user to connect multiple mobile devices to the Internet via the wireless local area network. The wearable networking and activity monitoring device further comprising a power supply means, which is electrically coupled to the mobile network router through the electronic circuitry and allows the user of the garment to charge the mobile device, and an activity monitoring device embedded in the garment and operable to monitor activity and physiological information of the user.
ELECTRICAL STIMULATION FITNESS WEAR
In electrical stimulation fitness wear, multiple electrode parts 30 are provided in a clothing portion, at positions that respectively face multiple target body parts such as to be respectively in proximity to the multiple target body parts, so as to provide electrical stimulation to the multiple target body parts, and the multiple electrode parts 30 each have a surface formed of a conductive polymer fabric 31. Multiple electrical cables 36 respectively connect the multiple electrode parts 30 to a connection part of a control unit electrically. The multiple electrode parts 30 include a first electrode part 30 to which a first electrical cable 36 is connected and a second electrode part 30 to which a second electrical cable 36 is connected. The first electrode part 30 and the second electrode part 30 are provided at separate positions such that a current can be applied to a certain body part between the electrodes.
SMART FABRIC THAT RECOGNIZES OBJECTS AND TOUCH INPUT
A piece of smart fabric for recognizing an object or a touch gesture includes a first layer and a second layer. The first layer has multiple resistive sensors and multiple capacitive sensors. Each resistive sensor corresponds to each capacitive sensor. Each capacitive sensor includes a first piece of conductive fabric and a second piece of conductive fabric, and each resistive sensor includes a piece of pressure sensing fabric sandwiched between the first piece of conductive fabric and the second piece of conductive fabric of the corresponding capacitive sensor. The second layer has multiple inductive sensors and multiple NFC sensors. Each of the multiple inductive sensors corresponds to each of the NFC sensors. Each inductive sensor and its corresponding NFC sensor share a same coil.
ELECTROADHESIVES SYSTEM ISOLATION IN APPAREL
An electrode device for an electroadhesive clutch can include a planar conductive member and a housing that encloses at least a portion of the conductive member. In an example, the housing can include a flexible polymeric substrate provided adjacent to at least a first surface of the conductive member, and a dielectric member comprising a first portion provided adjacent to an opposite second surface of the conductive member, and a second portion provided adjacent to a first side edge of the conducive member and coupled to the flexible polymeric substrate.
ELECTROADHESIVES FOR APPAREL FIT
An adaptive article of apparel can include a textile with an opening that is configured to admit a body part of a wearer, and an electroadhesive clutch secured to the textile and extending around at least a portion of the opening.
