10584013 · 2020-03-10 · ·

Unit for winding and unwinding cables of a cable-laying apparatus, comprising a reel to support the cables to be wound or unwound, a support frame configured to keep said reel in a raised position with respect to the ground, and a rotation shaft solid with the reel and associated with a corresponding hydraulic drive unit; the unit also comprises at least a dynamic braking device associated with the rotation shaft and configured to allow, according to a first operating mode, the normal rotation of the shaft and therefore of the reel for winding or unwinding the cables, and to exert on the shaft and therefore on the reel, according to another operating mode, a dynamic braking condition that allows the shaft to rotate in a braked configuration for at least a certain period of time and prevents the instantaneous stoppage of the rotation of the reel.

RETRACTABLE STRAP

A strap may be removably attachable to a container. The strap may include a retractor having an opening, a retraction spring and a brake. The strap may further include a strip of flexible material attached to the retraction spring and extending through the opening of the retractor. The strap may also include clips attaching the retractor and distal end of the flexible material to the container. The strip of flexible material may move from a fully retracted position, where the distal end of the strip of flexible material is nearest the retractor, relative to the entire length of the strip of flexible material, to an extended position where the distal end of the strip of flexible material is furthest from the retractor. The retraction spring may bias the strip of flexible material into/toward the fully retracted position.

Coordinated dynamic braking and dispensing mechanism for reel utility

A vehicle-mounted reel utility. A brake wheel is macro-positioned to a non-contact position adjacent to the reel by sliding along a reel-supporting lifting arm. An actuator pivots the brake bracket bringing the wheel into a contact position with the reel. A cable dispenser for figure 8'ing the cable is mounted to the free end of a positioning arm that rotates from a position parallel to a lifting arm to a position perpendicular to the lifting arm. The dispenser is pivotally mounted to the positioning arm, allowing the user to swivel the dispenser about a horizontal arc while maintaining the dispenser in a central lateral position relative to a reel or a vehicle during the swivel movement. A hydraulic circuit controls the dispenser and the actuator that controls the brake wheel from a contact to non-contact position, to coordinate the stopping of cable dispensing.

Retractable cable and cable rewind spool configuration

A spool apparatus is described to include in one particular example a cable spool with a first cylindrical lip and a second cylindrical lip on an opposite side of the cable spool. A center of the spool includes a clutch bearing in the center of both the first cylindrical lip and the second cylindrical lip that provides a rotational axis for the cable spool to rotate around. The apparatus may also include a feed slot near the first cylindrical lip that provides a passage for cable to pass from the second cylindrical lip to the first cylindrical lip.

ROTATIONAL FRICTION BRAKE REGULATED BY ANGULAR ACCELERATION
20190338814 · 2019-11-07 · ·

A rotational friction brake regulated by the rate of change of angular speed is disclosed. The rotational friction brake includes: a first body, a second body rotationally attached to said first body, the second body rotating around a rotational center axis of said second body, and at least one braking arm rotationally attached to said second body in a pivot point. The pivot point is eccentrically offset to said rotational center axis. The at least one braking arm comprises a braking member arranged to frictionally engage a part of said first body. The at least one braking arm has a mass center placed at a distance from said pivot point that is longer than a distance from said pivot point to said rotational center axis. The braking member is arranged to frictionally engage said part of said first body. A fishing reel comprising a rotational friction brake is also disclosed.

The present invention discloses a cable reel, comprising an outer frame and a reel assembly. The reel assembly is installed on a lower part of the excavator. The structural point is that: the reel assembly comprises a left reel and a right reel; an inner bracket is arranged in the outer frame; the inner bracket comprises a left bracket and a right bracket which are respectively connected with the left reel and the right reel; and a telescopic cylinder for controlling the swing is arranged between the left bracket and the right bracket. The present invention has the beneficial effects that: the present invention is reasonable in design, increases working efficiency and can roll multiple cables.

Immediate manual locking arrangement for retractable lanyards and uses therefor
10442657 · 2019-10-15 ·

A manual mechanism for immediately locking a retractable lanyard is proposed where the locking mechanism is easily manipulated by the user and locks the assembly immediately with a precise, desired amount of cable exposed. The mechanism takes the form of a set of spring-loaded locking pins that engage the tracks on the top of the cable spool. A lever controls the spring and moves the pins between engaging with the spool (the locked position) when the spring is compressed, and unlocked when the spring is relaxed and the locking pins are retracted. This mechanism can be added to or manufactured within a lanyard to override the existing latching mechanism.
