Embodiments described herein relate generally to athletic or leisure apparel, such as running shorts or pants. In some embodiments, a garment includes an outer shell coupled to a band and an inner shell disposed within the outer shell and coupled to the band. The outer shell includes a first material having a first surface area, and the inner shell includes a second material having a second surface area that is less than the first surface area. A pocket is coupled to, and extends from, an inner surface of the outer shell. A coupling mechanism secures the pocket to the inner shell. In some embodiments, the coupling mechanism is a second pocket comprising the second material and coupled to the inner shell. In some embodiments, the coupling mechanism includes a stitch or a tether.

A garment for increasing resistance to a wearer's body, the garment having a first portion with a fabric of a first resistance characteristic operable to stretch to conform with movement of the wearer's body and at least one second portion of a fabric having a second resistance characteristic, where the second portion conforms to an associated specific body area of the wearer's body such as a muscle or muscle group. In the motorcycling pant of the invention, a compressive inner layer is integrally affixed to a protective outer layer. In embodiments, the motorcycling pant includes a zipper for securing the outer layer snugly around a leg of the wearer. The integrally affixed compressive layer and zipper mechanism permit a wearer to put on additional protective gear, e.g. knee braces, over the motorcycling pant with less time and effort than previous motorcycling pants require.

A lower body garment with an integrated resistance band is an apparatus that provides constant resistance for the lower body of a user throughout a workout. The apparatus includes a lower body garment and a resistance band. The lower body garment covers the lower body of the user and positions the resistance band around the thighs. The resistance band applies resistance throughout each movement and position of the legs. The lower body garment may extend to the ankles, the knees, or just above the knees. The apparatus further includes an inner left piece and an inner right piece to completely surround and enclose the legs while positioned within both the lower body garment and the resistance band. The apparatus may further include a skirt portion in order to appear as if a user is only wearing a skirt or to further accent the lower body garment.
