An assembly for handling reel spools, comprising linear support rails, having a first end and a second end, arranged parallel to each other, and a reel spool cart arranged on the support rails, the support rails being arranged at a first distance from each other, the first distance being greater than axial length of the reel spool, and the cart being provided with a hoisting device configured to hoist the reel spool vertically from beneath of at least one of the support rails to at least partly above at least one of the support rails.

A web winding process is disclosed for controlling one or more characteristics of a web of material being wound into a roll. In one aspect, the system includes a weighing platform that weighs the roll of material as the roll of material is building. From this information, a basis weight characteristic of the web is determined. One or more parameters in the web making process can be controlled in order to ensure that the basis weight characteristic of the web of material stays within preset limits. In this manner, rolls of material can be produced having uniform characteristics and dimensional stability.

The unwinder includes an unwinding station, in which to arrange a reel to be unwound. In the unwinding station there is arranged a series of guide rollers, defining a feed path of the web material. There are also provided: a cutting member adapted to cut a web material coming from an exhausted reel; and splicing members to splice a trailing edge of a first web material coming from an exhausted reel to a leading edge of a second web material coming from a new reel. A pick-up device is configured to pick up the leading edge of the second web material from a temporary retaining element, carried by a transfer unit to transfer reels to the unwinding station.

An apparatus for loading and unloading a roll includes a roll support portion disposed adjacent to a roll unwinder; a first traveling rail disposed on one side of the roll unwinder; a moving frame movably installed on the first traveling rail; and a roll attaching and detaching unit movably installed on the moving frame, wherein the roll support portion includes a lifting unit configured to move up and down a disposed roll, and wherein the roll attaching and detaching unit includes a moving plate moving on the moving frame, and a main body portion rotatably installed on the moving plate.

An unwinder of reels of web material wound around winding spindles (A), includes a unwinding station (13) with at least one unwinding member (23) to rotate a reel (B) that is located in the unwinding station and feed the web material toward a delivery path (E). Lifting members (51, 53) are provided to lift a spindle of a first exhausted reel from the unwinding station (13), in a removal position (PR). An insertion member (7; 33) is further provided to insert a second reel into the unwinding station (13). A pressing member (61) is arranged to press the web material coming from the first reel in removal position (PR) against the second reel in the unwinding station (13).

A secondary battery electrode film and separator supply device configured to: replace a bobbin when an electrode separator is used up by automatically extracting an empty bobbin from a spool, mounting the empty bobbin on a side of a bobbin mount of a bobbin changer, changing the position of a new bobbin mounted on another side by rotating the bobbin mount 180 degrees, and then moving and mounting the new bobbin on the spool; automatically extracting an end of a wound electrode separator through vacuum suction and connecting the end to another electrode separator; and feed a replacing material roll to a moving spool, cut a finishing tap at an end of a material by a predetermined length, and then automatically connect a new separator end of the replacing material roll and an in-use separator end through taping.

A device and a method for weighing a roll of continuous web material on a spool at a weigh-ing station in a continuous process is described, which has fewer mechanical parts and is safer to use than prior devices and methods. The device is arranged adjacent to at least one of a pair of guide rails and comprises a damper and a load cell. wherein the load cell is integrated into at least one guide rail.

An unwinder of reels of web material wound around winding spindles (A), includes a unwinding station (13) with at least one unwinding member (23) to rotate a reel (B) that is located in the unwinding station and feed the web material toward a delivery path (E). Lifting members (51, 53) are provided to lift a spindle of a first exhausted reel from the unwinding station (13), in a removal position (PR). An insertion member (7; 33) is further provided to insert a second reel into the unwinding station (13). A pressing member (61) is arranged to press the web material coming from the first reel in removal position (PR) against the second reel in the unwinding station (13).
