An article includes a first garment, a second garment, and a waterproof fastener system configured to join the first garment to the second. The waterproof fastener includes: a first annular gasket, coupled to the first garment, the first annular gasket including a flexible substrate and a continuous groove radially oriented on the first garment such that an engagement direction thereof is oriented perpendicular to a longitudinal direction of the first garment, and a second annular gasket coupled to the second garment, the second annular gasket including a second flexible substrate and a continuous rib radially oriented on the second garment such that an engagement direction thereof is oriented perpendicular to a longitudinal direction of the second garment. The continuous groove is configured to receive the continuous rib to form a waterproof interference fit.

A selectively attachable garment-to-appendage interface including a seal having a first portion to a garment and a second portion coupled to an appendage such as a glove, a hood or footwear. The first portion includes one of a projection or a groove. The second portion includes the other of the projection or a groove. The projection and the groove are configured to releasably engage for selectively attaching the garment to the appendage.

A system for enhancing sterility includes a first surgical glove including an upper glove portion and a lower glove portion. A surgical garment includes at least one surgical garment cuff and a sealing device including a first adhesive. The first adhesive of the sealing device is configured to be affixed between an inside surface of the lower portion of the first surgical glove and an outside surface of the at least one surgical garment cuff so as to provide a fluid seal between the first surgical glove and the at least one surgical garment cuff of the surgical garment.

A garment assembly including a first garment portion having an outer perimeter, a second garment portion, and a first fastener. The first fastener is positioned on the first garment portion and configured to removably attach the first garment portion to the second garment portion. The first fastener has a base portion that extends entirely about the outer perimeter. The first fastener further has an extension portion that overlaps with at least part of the base portion in a radial direction but is axially spaced apart from the base portion.

A fluid management system includes a sleeve member having a first end, a second end, an interior surface, and an exterior surface. The first end of the sleeve member is proximate a distal end of the gown sleeve and the second end extends inside of the distal end of the gown sleeve. A portion of the exterior surface of the sleeve member proximate the second end is in contact with a portion of an interior surface of the gown sleeve. There is a cuff member having a first end, a second end, an interior surface, and an exterior surface. The interior surface faces and is moveable with respect to portions of the exterior surface of the sleeve member/gown sleeve to enable the insertion of a cuff ring of the protective glove between interior surface of the cuff member and the exterior surface of one of the sleeve member/gown sleeve.

A zipper path for a non-encapsulating hazardous materials protection suit that has a first section extending generally vertically on the torso and a second section extending generally vertically on the torso, each section curving outwardly to a neck section that circles the suit neck. Segments of the first and second sections are less than the width of the neck section apart so that only a small number of snips from scissors is needed to sever the suit along a cut line that extends horizontally between the segments. One or both sections can extend down to a leg for ease in doffing the suit. Optionally, the zipper has a protective overlap. To doff the suit, the zipper is disengaged, the suit is cut with scissors at the cut line to separate the suit bottom from the hood, and the suit bottom is removed, followed by the hood.

A system and method of selectively connecting at least two articles of clothing is provided. First and second articles, which may comprise a glove and jacket sleeve or cuff, have mating geometries and at least one fastener to securely and selectively connect the two articles. In certain embodiments, magnets are provided as fasteners to connect the articles. For example, in certain embodiments, a method and system is provided that comprises features adapted to allow connection of an accessory (e.g. ski glove) to a portion of another article (e.g. jacket).

A garment is provided that includes an outer tubular garment portion and an inner tubular garment portion that are each fabricated from the same, continuous piece of protective material. By being formed from continuous portion of material, a user is provided with protection from ingress of fluids around an appendage when such fluid might be otherwise introduced through breaks in the material that rely entirely on a circumferential seam to secure separate pieces of material together. This invention offers a fully protective cowl neck garment with various fasteners designed to attach additional protective gear, such as gloves and shoe coverings. Overall, this invention ensures medical professionals, firemen, emergency medical personnel, government workers, and so forth, are protected fully from contagious and infectious diseases, liquids, and so forth.
