Sports shoulder pads having epaulettes containing slow-response foam inserts
A shoulder pad assembly for protecting the body during sports play has a pair of arches connected to each other in the front and in the back by connecting straps, webs, or similar connectors. Shoulder caps are connected to the arches by a flexible connecting structure, for example, webs, straps, or bands. Epaulets are attached by webs, straps, or bands, at the top of each arch. The arches and shoulder caps are lined with a shock-absorbing liner. Each of the epaulets contains a shock absorbing insert made of slow-response foam, slow-rebound foam or memory foam, encased in a nylon or fabric shell. Redundant pads, made of slow-response foam, slow-rebound foam or memory foam, encased in a nylon or fabric shell may be inserted below the top of each of the left arch and right arch, to provide additional padding in those areas.
FOOT AND KNEE PROTECTOR AND METHOD OF USE
A foot and knee protecting device includes a first pad having a curved area to receive a toe portion of a user's shoe; a second pad having a second curved area to receive a knee of the user; and a support extending between the first pad and the second pad, the support to secure around a leg of the user; the first pad and the second pad prevent the toe portion of the user's shoe and the knee of the user from coming into contact with a ground surface when the user is in a kneeled down position.
BACK PROTECTOR
A back protector is described, having a body with energy-absorbing function extending along a longitudinal direction (L) and having a portion able to provide the body with energy-absorbing function with a freedom of movement according to at least six degrees of freedom; and/or allow return into an original position following cessation of all the following stresses: stretching along the longitudinal direction, a compression, in the opposite direction to the stretching, along the longitudinal direction, a torsion in both directions of rotation about an axis passing through the body with energy-absorbing function, the axis being parallel to the longitudinal direction, a bending towards right-hand and left-hand sides of the body with energy-absorbing function about an axis orthogonal to a plane supporting the body with energy-absorbing function and orthogonal to the longitudinal direction (L), and/or a combination of the stresses.
HINGED LEG GUARD
The present invention relates to a hinged leg guard that may be used by catchers in diamond sports like baseball or softball. The hinged leg guard preferably includes a thigh guard, knee guard, shin guard that may be attached to one another by a flexible fabric. The thigh guard and shin guard also are preferably attached to a double hinge member that allows them to move relative to the knee guard. The knee guard also is preferably coupled to the double hinge member. When the hinged leg guard alternates between the extended and contracted position, an extension member of the knee guard preferably translates in one translational degree of freedom within a receiver of the hinge member. The translational movement preferably helps to keep the knee guard adjacent to the knee when a wearer crouches.
Lattice Structure and Method of Manufacture
A lattice structure includes a first layer and a second layer disposed on and overlaying the first layer. The first layer includes a plurality of interior cells, and adjacent interior cells along both a first axis and a second axis are interconnected. The second layer includes a plurality of exterior cells, and adjacent exterior cells are connected along the second axis but not the first axis. A channel is formed between unconnected adjacent exterior cells above interconnected adjacent interior cells. The lattice structure may be formed during a method of manufacturing a protective pad that further includes folding the lattice structure according to a pattern to form an articulated protective structure.
Catcher's leg guard
The present invention is directed to a leg guard that provides increased protection while also providing maximum articulation and increased freedom of movement for the user. More particularly, the leg guard includes a toe guard, a shin guard, a knee guard including an extended knee cap wrap, an extended knee guard, a thigh guard, a left hinge, and a right hinge. Through the use of an extended knee cap wrap and a hinged configuration, the leg guard provides additional protection for the knees of a catcher and allows catchers to freely and quickly move to or through different stances without having to re-position the pads of the leg guard. The hinged configuration provides enhanced mobility for the user by preventing the leg guard from shifting and rotating about the shin of the user and allowing the leg guard to remain static without axial rotation or vertical movement.
Protective gear
Protective gear for protecting an arm or other body part of a wearer, such as a lacrosse, hockey, baseball, or other sports player, or an occupational worker, is provided. The gear can be in the form of an arm guard including a forearm guard, a biceps guard and a sleeve. The sleeve can be joined with the forearm guard and an upper end of the biceps guard, with a lower end of the biceps guard being free from attachment to the sleeve to facilitate radioulnar rotation of the forearm guard and thus the forearm of the wearer. The arm guard can include a low profile elbow cap that is integral with the forearm guard, and generally free floating within and joined with the forearm guard, rather than being a separate component from the forearm guard.
INTEGRATED RIOT VEST
An integrated riot vest including a riot shell, a first carrier, a first envelope, and a second envelope. The riot shell having an impact resistant layer and adapted to be worn on a torso of a user with an inner side proximate the user and an opposing outer side. The first carrier having an inner side and an opposing outer side secured to the riot shell, wherein the outer side of the first carrier is proximate the inner side of the riot shell. The first envelope located between the outer side of the first carrier and the inner side of the riot shell. The second envelope formed between the inner side and the outer side of the first carrier and having a second envelope opening located on the inner side of the first carrier.
Protective Garments Incorporating Impact Resistant Structures
A protective garment comprising multi-layered composite structures is conformable to the contours of the body parts for which protection is required. The composite structure contains rigid impact-deflecting outer structures, impact-dissipating gel middle layers, and impact-damping microlattice lower layers. In one embodiment, the structure is designed for impacts associated with contact sports, such as football, hockey and lacrosse. In another embodiment, the structure is designed for military/police applications, in which impacts can be blunt forces, from weapons such as clubs, or penetrative forces, from knives, bullets or shrapnel.
PROTECTION DEVICE FOR PROTECTING THE SIDES/THE RIBS, THE BACK AND THE CHEST OF A USER
Protection device (1) for protecting the sides/the ribs, the back and the chest of a user comprising a main body (2) designed to protect the sides/the ribs and the back of the user, a front protection element (4) designed to protect the chest of the user and removably connected to the main body (2), the main body (2) and the front protection element (4) being movable there between and delimiting an inner space (S) for the body of the user. The protection device (1) further comprises connection means (6) for removably connecting the front protection element (4) to the main body (2) and adjustment means (42) designed to be handled by the user for adjusting the size of the inner space (S) according to the size of the body of the user. The connection means (6) and the adjustment means (42) are distinct there between and are at least partially and operatively associated there between.
