Device, method and system for changing flexibility of a sheet structure
Techniques and mechanisms for changing a flexibility of a sheet structure. In an embodiment, a garment or other device includes sheet structure, where an interface region is disposed between overlapping layer portions of a sheet structure. While a pressure differential is maintained between the interface region and a chamber of the garment, a valve of the garment is opened to allow an exchange of fluid between the interface region and the chamber. In another embodiment, the exchange of fluid changes a flexibility of the sheet structure by initiating or alleviating friction jamming between the overlapping layer portions.
CLOTH HAVING GAS SHEET
In one aspect, there is provided a fabric containing gas therein, the fabric comprising a weave between warps and wefts, wherein each warp includes an elongate array of a plurality of individual gas cells, wherein neighboring gas cells are physically coupled to each other via a connection, wherein the connection is monolithic with the gas cells, and each cell contains the gas therein.
WEARABLE IMPACT PROTECTION AND FORCE CHANNELING DEVICE
A wearable impact protection and force channeling device operable to transfer force received via impact from a head of the user to a body of the user, thereby utilizing an entire mass of the user to lessen rapid momentum change of the head.
WEARABLE AIRBAG DEVICE
A wearable airbag device includes an airbag that is inflatable with an inflation gas, and an outer cover that covers an outer circumference of the airbag and is configured to hold the airbag as inflated. The airbag includes: two protecting portions each of which is configured to cover an outer side of the trochanter of femur of the wearer at airbag deployment; and a communicating path that is configured to provide gas communication between the two protecting portions at vicinities of upper end regions of the protecting portions. The outer cover includes, in the upper edge, a wrap portion that is adapted to be wrapped around the pelvis of the wearer. The outer cover further includes a means for suppressing each of the protecting portions from floating away from the body of the wearer at airbag deployment.
Toddler Protection Garment Assembly
A toddler protection garment assembly for inhibiting a toddler from walking into objects includes a harness that is wearable over a toddler's shoulders. A disk is coupled to the harness having the harness being centrally positioned in the disk such that the disk surrounds the toddler when the harness is worn on the toddler. In this way the disk inhibits the toddler from contacting objects when the toddler is walking. A toroid is coupled to the disk such that the toroid surrounds the disk. The toroid is resiliently compressible to cushion impact against objects.
WEARABLE AIRBAG DEVICE
A wearable airbag device for protecting the hip of a wearer includes an airbag that is formed of a sheet material having flexibility and is adapted to be put on a circumference of the pelvis of the wearer. The airbag is inflatable with an inflation gas. The airbag includes: a mounting portion that is adapted to be disposed at a region to be wrapped around the pelvis at airbag deployment; two protecting portions each of which is configured to extend downward from the mounting portion and cover an outer side of a targeted body part of the wearer at airbag deployment, the targeted body part being left and right trochanters of femurs; and a means for suppressing each of the protecting portions from expanding and floating away from the targeted body part at the lower end at deployment of the protecting portion.
FLUID-BASED EXOSKELETAL BODY ARMOR WITH CLIMATE CONTROL
A protective suit comprising: a head portion comprising a fluid-filled head portion chamber; a neck portion releasably secured to the head portion and comprising a neck portion chamber, wherein the fluid-filled head portion chamber is in fluid communication with the neck portion chamber; and a torso portion releasably secured to the neck portion and comprising a fluid-filled torso portion chamber, wherein the fluid-filled torso portion chamber is in fluid communication with the neck portion chamber; and wherein the head portion is configured to be disposed on a head of the wearer, the neck portion is configured to be disposed in an arcuate manner around a neck of the wearer, and the torso portion is configured to be disposed on a torso of the wearer, such that when a force of an impact is received on the head portion, fluid from the fluid-filled head portion chamber is transferred into the neck portion chamber to support the neck of the wearer against translational and rotational forces imparted to the wearer, and when a force of an impact is received on the torso portion, fluid from the fluid-filled torso portion chamber is transferred to the neck portion chamber to support the neck of the wearer against translational and rotational forces imparted to the wearer.
SMART MULTIPURPOSE ANTI-COLLISION SUIT AND SKI RESORT SAFETY SYSTEM
A ski resort safety system and method. A ski resort comprises a piste (300). The ski resort safety system comprises: an anti-collision suit (1), wherein the anti-collision suit (1) is worn by a skier and comprises an inflation device (100) and a control device (200), the inflation device (100) is configured to inflate the anti-collision suit (1) under the control of the control device (200), and the control device (200) is configured to detect the condition of the skier, and when the skier encounters a danger, trigger the inflation device (100) to inflate the anti-collision suit (1), and is configured to transmit a danger signal when detecting the dangerous condition of the skier; and relay devices (301), wherein the relay devices (301) are arranged along the piste (300) at a certain interval so as to receive the danger signal, and transmit a trigger signal to other skiers (2′) on the piste (300). By triggering the anti-collision suits (1) of other skiers (2′) located below an out-of-control skier (2), the out-of-control skier (2) per se can be protected, and other skiers (2′) are also effectively prevented from being accidently damaged.
Protector
A protector for protecting a targeted body part of the wearer is disclosed. The protector includes a mounting belt that is adapted to put on the body of the wearer, and at least one protective body that is adapted to cover the targeted body part when the protector is worn, the protective body extending from the mounting belt. The protective body includes a protective pad that substantially has a board shape, an airbag that is overlaid on an outer surface of the protective pad in a stacking manner and configured to be inflated with an inflation gas, and an outer cover that covers outer circumferences of the protective pad and the airbag as stacked one on another. At least a part of an outer circumferential edge of the airbag is joined to the protective pad so that the airbag will not float away from the protective pad when inflated.
SAFETY AIRBAG FOR HUMAN BODY PROTECTION
The invention discloses a safety airbag comprising an upper airbag and a lower airbag. The upper airbag includes a back airbag and a head airbag laterally extending from a top of the back airbag. The lower airbag includes a waist airbag and a hip airbag extending downward from the waist airbag. The waist airbag can be folded, the hip airbag can be wound towards the waist airbag, and the waist airbag is superposed on the hip airbag. A fixing band is provided at each side of the hip airbag. After the low airbag is unfolded, the waist airbag is fitted to the waist, and the hip airbag protects the rear side and two sides of the hips and legs.
