Method and apparatus for converting hydrocarbon-based material into acetylene or ethylene
A method of converting a hydrocarbon-based material into acetylene or ethylene according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a supply step of supplying a gaseous or liquid hydrocarbon-based material to a plasma reactor, and a temperature control step of creating a temperature condition of a decomposition reaction of converting the hydrocarbon-based material into acetylene or ethylene in a reaction space in the plasma reactor.
GAS-TO-GAS REACTOR AND METHOD OF USING
A device and a process to propagate molecular growth of hydrocarbons, either straight or branched chain structures, that naturally occur in the gas phase of a first gas to gas phase molecules of a second gas having higher molecular chain lengths than the hydrocarbons of the first gas. According to one embodiment, the device includes a grounded reactor vessel having a gas inlet, a product outlet, and an electrode within the vessel; a power supply coupled to the electrode for creating an electrostatic field within the vessel for converting the first gas to a second gas.
PLASMA REACTOR FOR GREENHOUSE GAS CONVERSION
The present disclosure relates to a plasma reactor for plasma-based gas conversion comprising a pin electrode extending along a longitudinal axis from a first end to a second end, an opposing electrode opposing a discharge tip of the 10 pin electrode, a plasma chamber for confining a glow discharge plasma, and an electrically-insulating body that comprises an inner bore extending along the longitudinal axis from a bore entrance to a bore exit. The second end of the pin electrode comprises a discharge tip. The pin electrode penetrates the inner bore from the bore entrance and extends at least partly through the inner bore and a15 radial wall of a portion of the inner bore located between the second end of the pin electrode and the opposing electrode, is radially delimiting the plasma chamber. The plasma reactor is further configured for varying an electrode separation distance between the discharge tip of the pin electrode and the opposing electrode.
PLASMA ARC PROCESS AND APPARATUS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF FUMED SILICA
An apparatus for producing fumed silica from silica is described, wherein a plasma arc reactor includes at least one top electrode extending to the molten silica contained in the reactor, a conductive plate provided under the molten silica and a bottom anode. A plasma arc is adapted to be generated, wherein the plasma arc is provided at a tip of the electrode and is adapted to be transferred directly to the molten silica for forming SiO. A quenching system is also provided, such as hydrogen and oxygen containing gases that are injected within the reactor. The quenching system is adapted to reform SiO2 but in nano-sized amorphous particles, with a reactor outlet being provided for allowing the amorphous SiO2 nano particles in the form of fumed silica to exit the reactor.
ISOTHERMAL REACTOR FOR PLASMA-CATALYSIS CHEMICAL CONVERSION
The invention relates to a reactor for dielectric barrier discharge plasma catalysis, comprising a reactor housing (B) able to receive a plurality of DBD cells (C1, C2, C3 . . . ) removably mounted inside this housing.
Coal to acetylene plasma reactor having coking inhibition and online decoking functions
The present invention discloses a coal-to-acetylene plasma reactor having coking inhibition and online decoking functions, comprising a vertically arranged cathode rod, an anode and a circulating cooling water jacket arranged outside the anode, the anode includes from top to bottom an anode of the electric arc operation section for cooperating with the cathode rod to generate an electric arc, and an anode of the reaction section located below the electric arc, the anode is grounded, the inner diameter of the anode of the reaction section is 1.2 to 10 times the inner diameter of the anode of the electric arc operation section, and the junction of the anode of the reaction section and the anode of the electric arc operation section is circumferentially provided with a decoking nozzle that can spray a decoking medium toward the anode of the reaction section. The present invention uses the method of changing the inner diameter of the reactor and setting nozzles for diaphragm protection, fundamentally suppressing or even eliminating the coking phenomenon during the operation of the reactor, no need to set the decoking cycle, and realizing the continuous cracking operation of the reactor.
