Leg guard with adjustable strap

The leg guard for protecting at least a shin of a wearer includes a shin guard body and a strap. A peripheral edge of the shin guard body defines part of a perimeter of the shin guard body. The shin guard body includes a first coupling base and a second coupling base disposed on one of the interior and exterior surfaces. A first coupler is disposed at a first end of the strap and is releasably attachable to the first coupling base at a plurality of first attachment points, and a second coupler is disposed at the second end of the strap and is releasably attachable to the second coupling base at one of a plurality of second attachment points. A length of a wrappable segment is adjustable by releasably attaching the second coupler to the second coupling base at another one of the plurality of second attachment points.

A shoulder-pad system includes various components, including an impact-plate assembly and one or more sub-layers. The shoulder-pad system may be substantially retained in an arrangement or configuration using one or more securing garments. An exemplary securing garment includes an upper-body garment that at least partially wraps over, and attaches to, the impact-plate assembly.

Wearable device for fall injury mitigation

An inflatable garment designed to reduce the severity of fall-related injuries is disclosed. The garment includes at least one inflatable chamber, an upper portion, a middle portion, and a lower portion. The garment also includes an inflation mechanism in fluid communication with the at least one inflatable chamber, a sensor network configured to detect a plurality of physical parameters indicative of a fall, and a logic circuit configured to process the plurality of physical parameters, and to trigger the inflation mechanism when each of the plurality of physical parameters surpasses a threshold value. Each of the upper, middle, and lower portions are configured to inflate in an anterior, posterior, and lateral direction via the at least one inflatable chamber. The garment is further configured to deflate to prevent contrecoup injuries.

Neck protection devices

A neck protection device (10) includes a ring (14) that is configured to extend around a wearer's neck and that includes a plurality of elements (12) each defining a passage (16). A tether (18) extends along the passages (16) and a tension device (38) is configured to grip the tether (18) releasably and hold it under tension. The elements (12) are free to move relative to one another, when the tether (18) is not under tension, so that the ring (14) is flexile and can be fitted around the neck, but the elements (12) are drawn into abutting relationship to form a stiff ring (14), when the tether (18) is under tension.

APPARATUS, SYSTEM, AND METHOD FOR REDUCING HEAD OR NECK TRAUMA

A system for reducing trauma in the head or neck of a living being caused by acceleration of the head relative to a torso of the living being within a range of motion. The system includes a support engaging at least one of the head, neck, and shoulder of the living being without limiting the range of motion of the head or neck relative to the torso; a sensor in electrical communication with the system; a user interface in electrical communication with the sensor; and a damper associated with the support that is configured to mitigate the position, speed or acceleration of the head relative to the torso in response to information received by the sensor or user interface.

SKIN PROTECTING GARMENT

A skin protecting garment includes a back panel, a lower front panel coupled to the back panel, and an upper front panel coupled to the back panel. An upward facing opening is formed by the back panel and the upper front panel. The upward facing opening is dimensioned, shaped and positioned to expose a top of a user's head. A forward facing slit is between the lower front panel and the upper front panel. The forward facing slit is dimensioned, shaped and positioned to expose the user's eyes. The back panel, the lower front panel and the upper front panel are each formed of a material configured to block ultraviolet (UV) light.

A disposable shoulder towel assembly includes a towel that is worn around a user's neck to shield the user. The towel has a collar portion that is wrapped around the user's neck. A plurality of fasteners is coupled to the collar portion for retaining the collar portion around the user's neck. A double sided adhesive strip is attached to the towel. The double sided adhesive strip releasably adheres to the user's neck when the towel is wrapped around the user's neck. A flap is coupled to the towel and the flap is tucked into a collar of the user's shirt when the towel is wrapped around the user's neck.

Apparatus, system, and method for reducing head or neck trauma

Apparatus, systems, and methods are provided for the reduction of head or neck trauma in a living being by mitigating the acceleration experienced by the head, relative to the torso, during a change in motion; for example, creating a neck support that provides improved extension, compression, rotation, and bending properties to the neck in order to control the acceleration experienced by the head. The apparatus can be configured to create a neck support in which acceleration of the head, relative to the torso, is reduced with minimal structure, discomfort, and other potential downsides to the user of the apparatus.
