ARTICULATED CERVICAL SPINE AND NECK PROTECTION SYSTEM
An articulated cervical spine and neck protection system for protecting the cervical spine and the soft tissues of the neck, and for reducing related injuries including concussion. The invention has been developed primarily for use in full combat scenarios, including weapons-based combat, and combat-training scenarios, including in the defence forces, for law enforcement, or in martial arts competition or training including those involving weapons. The articulated cervical spine and neck protection system comprises an articulated cervical shroud assembly that allows good movement while protecting the cervical spine and soft tissues of the throat and neck against risks commonly associated with full contact sports and real combat scenarios, including weapons-based combat.
WEARABLE PROTECTION DEVICE
The present invention relates to a wearable protection device (10) comprising at least one inflatable member (20) designed to move between an at least partially folded up or rolled up condition, where it is in a deflated status, and an unfolded or unrolled condition, where it is in an inflated status; in the at least partially folded up or rolled up condition said at least one inflatable member (20) being housed in a housing (30) provided in the wearable protection device (10). According to the invention the at least one inflatable member (20) in the unfolded or unrolled condition remains within the limits of the housing (30).
Bench press support garment for resistance exercise
A support garment for use during resistance training. The support garment includes a band of elastomeric material having a front perimeter and a rear perimeter. The front perimeter and rear perimeter are folded together at two points, each point forming a segment. The segments are then affixed to each other at a midpoint. In addition, openings are formed on both sides of the segments with upper arm sleeves encompassing the openings. Each upper arm sleeve is configured for wear on an upper arm of a user above an elbow of the user. The upper arm sleeves are biased inwardly by the attached segments. The user positions one arm in each upper arm sleeve and positions the attached segments across a chest of the user during resistance training.
Anti-Horse Collar Tackle Safety Device
An anti-horse collar tackle safety device, comprising a base having means for attaching the base to a pair of shoulder pads, wherein the base comprises an interior portion facing the shoulder pads and an exterior portion that is accessible from outside a jersey placed over the shoulder pads, and a releasable portion releasably attached to the exterior portion of the base via means for releasable attachment, wherein the releasable portion is configured to release via application of a force equal to or less than about 15 pounds.
COOLING GARMENT
The invention relates to a cooling garment for cooling a torso of a wearer, comprising a front and a rear panel with a neck opening therebetween, wherein the front panel and the rear panel together comprise one single cooling section composed of two outer layers with a water absorbent layer sandwiched therebetween. The two outer layers are sealed together along their edges to form a single compartment for the storage of water, wherein the portions of the compartment that are at the front and the rear panel are in fluid communication with one another over the shoulders. Both outer layers are impermeable to water but permeable to water vapor. The cooling garment may be activated by filling the compartment with water via an inlet in one of the outer layers.
Neck Guard
The invention relates to a neck guard having an impact guarding insert. The neck guard has a body with a top with two tabs, a bottom, two ends, a front side, and a back side. A cavity is formed within the neck guard for containing the insert. The insert can be a removable insert that is selectably inserted and removed through an opening in the front side of the neck guard. The insert can also be permanently secured within the cavity. The insert can have a plurality of honeycomb shaped holes through it, and it is preferably made of a flexible and compressible material. The insert has tabs that can be aligned with and mate with tabs of the neck guard body. The body also has a bib at the bottom of the neck guard. The insert is also positioned through interfacing with the top of the bib.
Apparatus, system, and method for reducing head or neck trauma
A system for reducing trauma in the head or neck of a living being caused by acceleration of the head relative to a torso of the living being within a range of motion. The system includes a support engaging at least one of the head, neck, and shoulder of the living being without limiting the range of motion of the head or neck relative to the torso; a sensor in electrical communication with the system; a user interface in electrical communication with the sensor; and a damper associated with the support that is configured to mitigate the position, speed or acceleration of the head relative to the torso in response to information received by the sensor or user interface.
BODY PART PAD
Body part pad for protecting a double curved body part from external load. The body part pad comprises a flexible carrying dish which in a first bending direction is bendable about a first bending axis and which in a second bending direction is bendable about a second bending axis. The carrying dish comprises a multiplicity of segments of which adjacent segment parts are disposed with an intermediate distance. The intermediate distance of adjacent segment parts is variable upon bending of the carrying dish at least in the second bending direction, so that, in use, a force that is exerted by the body part on the carrying dish and the opposed forces that are exerted on the carrying dish result in curvature of the carrying dish around the first and second bending axis to a curvature corresponding more with the body part to be protected.
PROTECTIVE HAIRSTYLING GARMENT
A protective hairstyling garment; the protective hairstyling garment includes a protective garment having a collar section and a cape section. The collar section includes an elongated body configured to encompass and secure around a neck of a user-wearer. The cape section is configured to cover a substantial portion of a shoulder and collarbone area of the user-wearer. The cape section is removably attachable to the collar section to provide effective and whole protection of the neck, shoulder and collarbone area of the user-wearer from touch contact by heated hairstyling tools such as curling irons and flat irons.
Article of apparel with dynamic padding system
An article of apparel includes a padding system that dynamically changes configuration in response to an impending impact. The padding system may change from a state that has a high flexibility and offers low protection from impact to a state that has a low flexibility and offers increase protection from impact. The system may use a filament to constrict a plurality of padding elements together in order to increase the overall stiffness of the pad. The filament may be tightened and loosened by a spool. The spool may receive a signal regarding the impending impact from a sensor that is a part of the article of apparel, or a sensor that is separate from it.
