Modular disengaging system
The present disclosure seeks to reduce the effects of rotational and linear acceleration experienced by the body of a user in response to an impact force. Modular disengaging systems of the present disclosure are generally suitable for coupling to protective equipment to provide a disengaging motion between various layers such that the effects of the impact force to the body of the user are reduced. Generally described, the modular disengaging systems of the present disclosure include layers configured to facilitate relative lateral motion therebetween upon an impact force.
SELECTIVELY STIFFENABLE ASSEMBLIES, PROTECTIVE GARMENTS FOR PROTECTING AN INDIVIDUAL, AND SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF USING THE SAME
Embodiments disclosed herein are directed to selectively stiffenable assemblies, protective garments and systems that include such selectively stiffenable assemblies for protecting one or more body portions of an individual wearing the protective garment.
Impact-Attenuation Sub-Layer for a Shoulder-Pad System
Aspects herein relate to a shoulder-pad system that may be used to attenuate impact in various contexts. The shoulder-pad system may have a number of subcomponents, which may include an impact plate assembly, an impact-attenuation sub-layer, a base-layer garment, and a securing garment, among others. The shoulder-pad system may be described as modular, in that the various subcomponents may be added to, and/or removed from the system when it is desirable to do so.
Adjustable ballistic garment
An adjustable ballistic garment includes a first panel, an opposing second panel, and a connection assembly configured to releasably and adjustably couple the first panel to the second panel. The first panel has a first end of a strap attached thereto, while a second end of the strap is free-hanging. The second panel includes an adjustable tensioning loop and a rotary tensioning knob configured to adjust a length of the tensioning loop. A first coupling member is attached to a second end of the strap and includes a pin extending therefrom. A second coupling member is formed separately from the tensioning loop and the first coupling member and includes a cavity configured to receive the pin of the first coupling member and channel configured to receive the tensioning loop.

TWO-PIECE ARTICULATING CHEST PROTECTOR WITH STRETCHABLE HINGE
A chest protector for accommodating a female figure may include an upper portion sized to at least partially surround a user's bust region and having a neck opening shaped to receive a user's neck region. The chest protector may further include a lower portion sized to at least partially surround a user's abdominal region. A flexible element may connect the upper and lower portions to allow the upper portion to articulate with respect to the lower portion. The upper portion may include a breast covering section extending in an anterior direction to form a breast volume for accommodating the user's breasts or breast region. The breast volume may be formed at least in part by connecting a pair of edges positioned on opposing lateral sides of the upper portion. Optionally, the upper portion may overlap the lower portion. The chest protector may be formed from resilient foam or other materials.
Apparatus for Attaching a Ballistic Plate to a Civilian User
An apparatus for attaching a ballistic plate to a wearer's body includes a bag sized to closely receive the ballistic plate. The bag has an opening configured to receive the ballistic plate. An adjustable and releasable neck strap includes first neck strap end portion mounted to the bag at a first side of the bag upper portion and a second neck strap end portion mounted to the bag at an opposing second side of the bag upper portion. An adjustable and releasable waist strap has a first waist strap end portion mounted to the bag at a first side of the bag lower portion and a second waist strap end portion mounted to the bag at an opposing second side of the bag lower portion. The bag can comprise an anti-spall material.
TORSO PROTECTOR DEVICE FOR MARTIAL ARTS
A torso protector device for martial arts is disclosed. The device comprises a cylindrical torso protection body to protect a wearer's torso; a shoulder cover coupled to the cylindrical torso protection body at front and rear portions thereof, wherein the shoulder cover has a neck opening defined in a top thereof, wherein left and right arm passing openings are defined in the shoulder cover in the left and right sides thereof respectively; a wire coupled to the cylindrical torso protection body and the shoulder cover; a wire adjuster module coupled to the wire; and a screener to screen the wire, wherein an adjustment dial is operatively coupled to the wire adjuster module, wherein the rotation of the adjustment dial results in length increase or decrease of the wire.
Helmet having non-bursting air cells
A helmet having non-bursting air cells preferably includes a hard helmet shell, an outside air cell impact layer and an inside air cell impact layer. The outside air cell impact layer preferably includes at least one air cell layer and an outside layer of sheet material. Each air cell layer includes a plurality of air cells created between two plastic sheets. The inside air cell impact layer includes the at least one air cell layer. The inside and outside air cell impact layers may be permanently or removably attached to hard helmet shell. A second embodiment of the helmet having non-bursting air cells preferably includes the hard helmet shell, the outside air cell impact layer and an inside air cell inflatable impact layer. The inside air cell inflatable impact layer preferably includes at least one inflatable air cell layer and a check valve.
Universal adapter system for load bearing packs
Embodiments of universal adapter system including a belt adapter for a belt, such as a tactical belt, configured to couple one or more pack adapters secured to a respective load bearing pack, such as a backpack. Other embodiments of the universal adapter systems may be described and claimed.
