Composite materials having superior material properties useful as impact absorbing devices can be fabricated by embedding a lattice structure (e.g., polymer lattice structure) within a foam, so that the foam reinforces the lattice structure under impact. Materials and dimensions of the foam and the lattice structure may be selected to achieve composite materials having tailored impact absorbing elastic and/or viscoelastic responses over a wide range of temperatures.

The present invention provides a new and useful athletic shorts garment apparatus with improved interfemoral gusset and surrounding modesty panel. This invention is believed to be useful by offering an apparatus which stays in place when in use, does not ride-up the legs, prevents chafing, provides a flared modesty panel that is flattering, accommodates all hip sizes and hides the body shape and contours of the user, has readily accessible large pockets for carrying items, has a double gusset located between the legs to prevent splitting that can occur from a single seam, allows for the addition of a drawstring, and is reversible. Hockey goalkeeper leg pads wearable on legs of a hockey goalkeeper to protect the legs, in which the hockey goalkeeper leg pads may be configured to enhance performance, comfort and/or other aspects of goalkeeping of the hockey goalkeeper, including when the hockey goalkeeper leg pads drop onto a playing surface (e.g., ice) to lie substantially horizontally on the playing surface with their front facing play (e.g., as in a butterfly position or otherwise).

An exemplary, nonlimiting embodiment of the present disclosure provides a lightweight, breathable protective garment configured to encompass the entirety of two limbs and their corresponding extremities, such as a pair of legs and feet, of an individual as a means of preventing an insect biting the skin of the limbs and corresponding extremities. The exemplary, nonlimiting embodiment of the present disclosure comprises a pair of pants and a pair of footwear. The pair of pants is constructed of a fabric which preferably comprises a single layer mesh impenetrable to a variety of insects. The footwear is secured to the pair of pants near the bottom of each pant leg.

The present disclosure relates to a leg protector. According to an aspect of the present disclosure, disclosed is a leg protector which can protect a wearer's foot and leg and is made of an elastic material, the leg protector comprising: a bottom plate part for supporting a wearer's foot; and a protection part connected to the upper side of the bottom plate part, extending upward therefrom, and formed to cover at least a part of the side and rear portions of the wearer's foot and leg, wherein the protection part includes, on both the left and right sides of the ankle portion thereof, an opening part through which regions corresponding to the wearer's malleoli are exposed to the outside.

A protective article of clothing for weight training comprising including a top adapted to be worn on an upper portion of an athlete. The top include a front surface and a rear surface, left and right arm openings and a head opening. An impact-resistant flexible collar is integrally attached to the top and is sized and positioned to substantially encircle the head opening. The collar is also configured to dampen an impact force to at least a portion of the athlete's shoulders, upper chest and upper back.

A protective article of clothing for weight training including bottoms adapted to be worn on a lower portion of an athlete. The bottoms have a front and a rear surface, a waist opening, and left and right leg portions, each with a foot opening. At least one impact-resistant flexible pad is integrally attached to the bottoms and is sized and positioned to substantially cover a zone of likely contact, including the athlete's shins, knees, thighs, hips, hip creases, shoulders, and upper back. The flexible pad dampens impact forces applied to the zones of likely contact.

The present invention provides protective athletic pants that are constructed from a protective material and a flexible material, in optimal ratios. This invention provides durable pants that provide adequate protection without unduly restricting the movement of the wearer.
