A medical, in particular orthopaedic, aid (1, 1′, 1″), such as for example an orthosis (1), bandage (1′) or compressive item of clothing (1″), consisting of at least one base body (2, 2′, 2″) of at least one elastic and/or non-elastic textile material (3, 3′, 3″), which is designed for the supporting of tissue and/or parts of the body of a patient, wherein the at least one textile material (3, 3′, 3″) of the base body (2, 2′, 2″) is designed at least partially to be substantially transmissible with respect to UV radiation.

An article of apparel includes a padding system that dynamically changes configuration in response to an impending impact. The padding system may change from a state that has a high flexibility and offers low protection from impact to a state that has a low flexibility and offers increase protection from impact. The system may use a filament to constrict a plurality of padding elements together in order to increase the overall stiffness of the pad. The filament may be tightened and loosened by a spool. The spool may receive a signal regarding the impending impact from a sensor that is a part of the article of apparel, or a sensor that is separate from it.

A protective leg device and method designed to keep a user's legs clean while kneeling or standing on the ground or floor when engaging in activities such as gardening, grouting, landscaping, construction, and the like and which provides comfort while salvaging a user's pair of pants.

A kneeling support device is disclosed that attaches to a user's leg and extends from the knees down to the instep of the foot to help reduce the amount of pressure on the feet and toes of a user while kneeling. The device comprises a base component that is configured in a curved contour that wraps around the front of a user's leg and foot via hook and loop fasteners. The curved contour of the base component creates a recess on the inner surface of the base component, which contours to a user's leg. The outer surface of the base component comprises at least one padding layer to cushion a user's knees and shins while kneeling. The end of the base component near the foot comprises a cutout component that curves around a user's foot to provide comfort and support to the toes and feet while kneeling.

A body limb protection system includes an outer layer, an inner layer, and a force dampening and defusing structure. The outer layer includes a first material composition and has an exterior surface that includes a substantially planer area. The inner layer includes a second material composition and has a shape corresponding to a body limb portion. The force dampening and defusing structure is positioned between the inner layer and the outer layer. The force dampening and defusing structure has a shape corresponding to a difference between the shapes of the inner and outer layers. The force dampening and defusing structure includes a plurality of components arranged to reduce pressure on the body limb portion when a force is applied to the substantially planer area.

Disclosed is a heating system including: a heating garment formed as a tubular sleeve, the heating garment configured for being worn on a limb, having a cylindrical shape, a proximate end, a distal end that is axially spaced from the proximate end, a dorsal side, a ventral side that radially opposes the dorsal side, a proximate opening at the proximate end, and a distal opening at the distal end, wherein the heating garment is configured for being slid over the limb so that the proximate end is at a wrist or ankle, the distal end is near an elbow or knee, the dorsal side covers a dorsal side of the limb and the ventral side covers a ventral side of the limb, the heating garment including an infrared radiation (IR) heating source that distributes IR heat along at least a portion of the heating garment.

A sleeve for wear on a body limb includes a sleeve body and a strap body. The strap body includes straps with fasteners at or near the ends of the straps for attachment to the sleeve body. An arm sleeve includes a thumb opening connected to a tension strap that extends along the length of the sleeve. The arm sleeve is configured to apply a twisting force when the opening is placed on the thumb. An arm and shoulder sleeve includes a lower sleeve, and upper arm cover and straps extending from an elbow band to extend from the upper arm cover for attachment to another garment.

A protective shirt includes a chest portion made of garment material, including a lining on a side of the chest portion that is closest to the wearer of the protective shirt. At least one layer of neoprene is securely fastened to the lining. The layer of neoprene extends from a left side of the chest portion to a right side of the chest portion and is located at an area of the chest portion nearest to a clavicle of a wearer of the protective shirt. The layer of neoprene includes a plurality of spaced-apart segments of the layer of neoprene. The protective shirt includes a neoprene neck pad. Embodiments of the protective shirt include cap-sleeve, short sleeve, long sleeve, sleeveless, and tank top versions. In one embodiment, the garment material includes nylon and spandex.

A quick release protective equipment assembly is disclosed and may include a fabric sleeve adapted to be worn by an athlete and a piece of protective equipment removably attached to the fabric sleeve by one or more magnetic fasteners and one or magnets embedded in the fabric sleeve and the protective equipment.
