Web splice
A web splice for attaching two webs, such as paper webs used in paper converting operations. The web splice comprises a non-linear butt joint. The butt joint forms an acute included angle () with the side edges.
METHOD OF WELDING ADDITIVELY MANUFACTURED THERMOPLASTIC
A method of forming a component includes additively manufacturing a first subcomponent, the first subcomponent including a first polymer material with a first porosity. The method further includes mating the first subcomponent with a second subcomponent and ultrasonically welding the first subcomponent to the second subcomponent at a weld frequency. The first porosity can be 5% or less.

INJECTION MOLDED COMPOSITE BLANK AND GUIDE
This specification discloses an article of manufacture. The article of manufacture has at least one structural blank and at least one guide. The structural blank has a plurality of oriented fiber plies in a thermoplastic matrix. The guide has a plurality of random dispersed fibers in a thermoplastic matrix. The guide is affixed to the structural blank by injection molding and over molding the guide onto the structural blank. The article of manufacture can take a number of forms for use in industries such as aircraft, automobiles, motorcycles, bicycles, trains or watercraft.
JOINT STRUCTURE
A joint structure includes a first member and a second member. The first member includes a projection having a distal end and a base end. The distal end is thicker than the base end. The second member is made of a material different from a material of the first member and has a fitting groove into which the projection is to be inserted. The projection includes, on its surface, an inclined surface extending from the distal end to the base end and inclined with respect to a facing direction in which the first member and the second member face each other. The projection at least includes a plurality of fiber-containing layers that each have a sections in which a fiber extends along the inclined surface.

NONWOVEN CARRIER MATERIAL COMPRISING A FIRST PART AND A SECOND PART
A nonwoven carrier material including at least a first part and a second part whereby the first and the second part including at least two layers of thermoplastic fibers. The first part and the second part are connected with each other in a connecting area to form the nonwoven carrier material whiteout thickness and weight variations in the connecting area. Further, a method for connecting a first and a second part of a nonwoven carrier material to form a connected nonwoven carrier material
Process of making hollow products, especially toys or pet products, and hollow products made with the process
In the process of making a hollow product, especially a deformable toy ball, two halves made from on elastomeric material, a thermoplastic material, rubber, a blend of rubbers, or a thermoplastic elastomer are formed by injection molding with mating edges that engage with each other when the halves are assembled to form the product. The edge of one of the two halves is advantageously formed with a recess centered in the edge, in which a flange formed on the edge of the other of the two halves engages to provide a form-fitting connection between the two halves. The opposing edges are then bonded with each other by fusion or melting or by an adhesive applied to at least one of the edges prior to assembling the halves together. A deformable ball produced by the process is also described.
Housing for a motor-transmission unit and method of making the housing
A housing for a motor-transmission unit with at least two housing sections which have in each case at least one accommodation segment for receiving a motor and an internally-toothed, internal ring gear segment for receiving a gear of a planetary gear unit, wherein the housing sections can be or are connected with each other and wherein, in the assembled state, the accommodation segments of the housing sections together form at least one accommodation compartment for holding the motor, and the internal ring gear segments of the housing sections together form an internal ring gear for mating with a gear on the planetary gear unit.
WAVEGUIDE FOR PLASTIC WELDING, ARRANGEMENT FOR PLASTIC WELDING, A WELDING METHOD AS WELL AS A MANUFACTURING METHOD OF A WAVEGUIDE
A waveguide for plastic welding has an entry end, an exit end as well as a first and a second inner face arranged between the entry end and the exit end, which are arranged opposite to each other and by means of which laser light can be reflected. A first distance between the entry end and the exit end defines a length of the waveguide and a second distance between the first and the second inner face defines a thickness of the waveguide. The exit end may be arranged opposite to the entry end and a central plane of the waveguide may extend centrally from the entry end to the exit end. The first inner face comprises a continuously curved, concave shape so that a third distance between the first inner face and the central plane varies continuously from the entry end in the direction of the exit end.
