20180186085 · 2018-07-05 ·

The invention relates to a method for manufacturing a plastic pedelec frame (1) by, preferably integrally, joining two matching plastic half-shells (2, 3), said pedelec frame being provided with receptacles (12, 13, 14) for a handlebar (4), a bottom bracket (5) and preferably a seat (6). The two plastic half shells (2, 3) are made from a fiber-reinforced thermoplastic material containing a partially aromatic polyamide, using an injection molding process. The invention also relates to a pedelec frame (1) manufactured by said method.

Insulated double walled drinking vessel and method of making the same
09956724 · 2018-05-01 · ·

An insulated drinking vessel, e.g., a wine glass, and methods of making the same is disclosed. The vessel basically comprises a pre-molded inner vessel formed of a plastic material having a sidewall, a pre-molded outer vessel formed of a plastic material, and a ring. The ring is formed of a plastic material and is molded in-situ on a top portion of the inner vessel to cause portions of the plastic material of the inner vessel to melt and intermingle with the plastic material of the ring to form a non-superficial homogenous joint therebetween. The inner vessel is disposed within the outer vessel and the ring is welded to a top portion of the outer vessel. The ring forms the rim or lip of the insulated drinking vessel and that vessel includes an insulating air space between the sidewall portions of the inner and outer vessels.

Resistive implant welding of thermoplastic material with butt joints

A method for forming butt joints between thermoplastic members by resistive implant welding. A tongue is formed on one member to be joined and a complementary groove is formed in the other member. A resistive implant is placed between the tongue and the groove which are then pressed together by an applied pressure. An electric current is run through the resistive implant to melt a portion of the thermoplastic material of both the tongue and groove, and the melted plastic intermingles through the implant. When the electric current is removed, the plastic cools, forming a weld.

JOINT STRUCTURE AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING JOINT STRUCTURE

A joint structure comprises a light-absorbable member having at least one opening portion and a light-permeable member superposed on the light-absorbable member so as to cover the opening portion, wherein an annular weld part is formed so as to enclose the opening portion and join the light-absorbable member and the light-permeable member, and the light-permeable member is formed into a thin sheet adhering to the light-absorbable member by deforming at a depressurized state of an interior of the opening portion before the formation of the annular weld part.

FLUID CONNECTOR

The present disclosure relates to a fluid connector having a sleeve-like connection piece with a connection-piece inner wall and an annular stop collar formed in the interior of the sleeve-like connection piece, said stop collar having an axially directed stop face, and a plastics tube which has a tube inner wall, a tube outer wall and a tube front face. The tube front face of the plastics tube comes into contact with the axially directed stop face. The tube outer wall of the plastics tube is connected to the connection-piece inner wall of the sleeve-like connection piece by means of a friction-welded connection.

Composite material structure and method of manufacturing composite material structure

According to one implementation, a composite material structure includes a first member and a second member. The first member has at least one first bonded surface. The second member has at least one second bonded surface to be bonded to the at least one first bonded surface. The second member is made of a composite material. At least one surface formed by fibers forming the composite material is used as the at least one second bonded surface by disposing end portions of the fibers, in the first member side, inside the composite material.

HOLLOW FIBER MEMBRANE BLOOD PURIFYING DEVICE

A hollow fiber membrane blood purifying device including a cylindrical container, a hollow fiber membrane bundle, a potting resin fixing portion embedding and fixing the hollow fiber membrane bundle at each end of the cylindrical container, headers having nozzles, and ports further has the structure in which each header and the cylindrical container are welded in at least two regions over the circumference. The inside face of the header is in contact with a potting resin fixing portion cut face that is formed by cutting an outer side portion of the potting resin fixing portion in the length direction of the cylindrical container than the end face of each end of the cylindrical container, and the potting resin fixing portion cut face is in a compressively deformed state.

SANDWICH PANEL JOINTS AND METHODS FOR JOINING SANDWICH PANELS
20180066686 · 2018-03-08 ·

Joints for joining panels together, such as for joining honeycomb sandwich panels used in aerospace applications, and methods of joining said panels are disclosed. In some examples of disclosed joints, a first panel and a second panel can be joined together to form a joint. The first panel can be a flat panel that includes a rabbet formed along a first longitudinal edge, and the second panel can be a curved panel that includes a notch formed along a second longitudinal edge. In forming the joint, a portion of the rabbet can be positioned within the notch, and the flat panel and curved panel can be oriented at a non-parallel and non-perpendicular angle to one another. Adhesive can be applied along the rabbet and/or the notch in order to secure the joint.

Method for producing a partly transparent body with a color gradient, and a partly transparent body with a color gradient

A method for producing a partly transparent body with a color gradient, include: providing a transparent first casing having a first joint surface on a protrusion and including an encased object; providing a second casing which is not completely transparent and which has a second joint surface in a recess. The shape of the protrusion and the shape of the recess correspond to each other; and combining the first casing and the second casing by inserting the protrusion into the recess and melting the first joint surface of the first casing with the second joint surface of the second casing. A pressure force and a temperature are applied to the first joint surface and the second joint surface such that the first joint surface of the first casing transitions into the second joint surface of the second casing in a visually seamless manner, followed by a removal of material.
