The polymeric ring can define a central aperture having an inner diameter. The polymeric ring can also include a recessed shelf contacting the inner diameter of the central aperture and an ultrasonic bonding surface disposed to the outside of the recessed shelf. The lid can include a peelable film disposed on the recessed shelf and occluding the central aperture. The peelable film can be removably bonded to the recessed shelf, and can include a tab attached to an edge of the peelable film. In some cases the lid can contain substantially no metal content. Provided are a fuel tank made of polyketone and a method of manufacturing the same. The method includes injection-molding an upper cover and a lower cover using an injection-molding machine, placing the upper cover and the lower cover at a relatively high position and a relatively low position, respectively, assembling the upper cover and the lower cover with each other, and bonding contact surfaces between the upper cover and the lower cover to each other using a laser beam. Since the upper cover and the lower cover are formed at the same time and are bonded to each other immediately after being assembled by a machine, it is possible to achieve automated production, mass production and remarkable cost reduction. Further, since the fuel tank has sufficient rigidity due to the rigidity of polyketone without an additional reinforcing member, it is possible to manufacture a lightweight fuel tank.

A polymethylpentene scanning plate is provided which has lip with a marginally larger perimeter than the first perimeter. During assembly of the composite housing, at least a part of scanning plate is thermally contracted to allow it to be positioned within the opening such that the peripheral side surface of the scanning surface faces the edge of the body. When the scanning plate returns to ambient temperature and expands at least a portion of the side surface of the scanning plate engages the edge of the body.
