Surgical Gown, Gloves, and Cap With Cooling Properties
In some embodiments, apparatuses and methods are presented herein useful to provide a protective medical garment, such as a gown, head covering, or gloves with a cooling property or agent. In one approach, the protective medical garment comprises a non-woven fabric that is at least partially-treated on an interior surface thereof with a phase change cooling agent. For example, a surgical gown may have a torso section and sleeves, with the phase change cooling agent deposited in areas adjacent the wearer's trunk, neck, underarms, or wrists.
Gown system
A gown dispenser system has a plurality of gowns, each having a back region, the gowns folded and stacked back region facing up, such that, pulling on the back region of a gown on top of the stack removes that gown from the stack and exposes the back region of the next gown in the stack, an enclosure containing the stack of gowns, the enclosure having an opening exposing the back region of the gown at the top of the stack, enabling a user to grasp the exposed back region and pull the topmost gown from the enclosure, exposing the next gown in the stack. Gowns are drawn from the enclosure one-at-a-time, at need.
PROTECTIVE APPAREL AND SUPPORT APPARATUS AND METHOD OF USE
A protective apparel support system is disclosed comprising a support frame configured to rest on the shoulders of a wearer, the support having a first shoulder member, a second shoulder member and a shield engagement portion. A shield is selectively coupleable to the support and protective apparel is coupled to the shield.
Garments for healthcare workers
According to techniques of this application, a garment may include a trunk, three left sleeves, and three right sleeves. Two of the left sleeves and two of the right sleeves may be short sleeves. The third left sleeve and the third right sleeve may be long sleeves. The garment may include a placket that comprises a first placket piece, a second placket piece, and a third placket piece portion. The placket may be assembled separately and then attached to a V-neck cutaway of the trunk.
Gown with moisture contact indicator
A gown (100) includes a body covering (101) disposed between a first sleeve (102) and a second sleeve (103). The body covering portion includes a first layer (106) coupled to a second layer (107) by an adhesive (108) comprising a unactivated colorant, such as an unactivated dye (109). The unactivated colorant transitions to an activated colorant (201) when wet, and the second layer absorbs the activated colorant.
Laminated articles and methods of making and using the same
Described herein are laminated articles along with methods of making and/or using the same, including a continuous process for making laminated articles.
MEDICAL PROTECTIVE CLOTHNG MATERIALS
Protective clothing materials and related methods and garments are provided. In some embodiments, a protective clothing material may comprise a fibrous layer that serves as a barrier to certain fluids (e.g., bodily fluids, water) and microbes. The impermeability of the fibrous layer may be due, at least in part, to the structural uniformity and/or relatively small pore size of the fibrous layer. In some embodiments, the fibrous layer may have a relatively high air permeability that imparts beneficial properties (e.g., relatively high air flow, breathability) to the protective clothing material without adversely affecting its protection rating. In certain embodiments, the protective clothing material may also comprise one or more coarse nonwoven webs that impart beneficial properties (e.g., splash resistance) to the protective clothing material. The protective clothing materials, described herein, may be particularly useful for a wide variety of applications, including the formation of AAMI level 4 protective garments.
Wettable SMS Material for Personal Protective Equipment Applications
A wettable SMS material for personal protective equipment, such as a SMS fabric that has been treated to improve the wettability and absorbency properties of the SMS fabric is provided. A treated SMS fabric for personal protective equipment can retain its durability, breathability, and comfort, and may also provide the fabric with wettability and absorption properties. An article for personal protective equipment formed from a wettable SMS fabric is also provided.
Medical Gown
A gown is provided including non-woven fabric having a front portion, a rear portion, said rear portion ending in a lower edge, and a head insertion aperture that is between the front portion and the rear portion. The gown includes an opening in the rear portion; this opening is formed at the lower edge and extends upwards towards the head insertion aperture, and is configured to assist the wearing in donning the gown. There is a bridge extending across the rear portion at least partially between the opening and the head insertion aperture. This bridge is configured to tear and split the rear portion when the front portion is pulled away from the wearer.
Neuromuscular enhancement system
A neuromuscular enhancement system comprising engineered textile structures is worn by a user to increase strength, preserve energy, and increase motion accuracy. The system can be used in surgery and interface with operating room technology, together providing the surgeon with the ability to perform surgery for longer hours and with increased accuracy. The enhancement system is a flexible structure, worn over the user's body, comprising engineered textile materials that apply forces to different areas of the user's body. The engineered materials can be activated in order to apply a force to a particular region of the body to assist in a desired user output. The engineered materials can be embedded with sensors to detect and monitor motion and other physical properties. The engineered materials can also be embedded with a communication system that conveys information between a computer system and the neuromuscular enhancement system and its various sensors and components. The enhancement system here can be configured for use in applications other than surgery.
