BONDING OBJECTS TOGETHER
A method of bonding a connector to a first object includes providing the connector, the connector being separate from the first object and including a thermoplastic material; arranging the first object and the connector relative to one another so that the connector reaches from a proximal side of the object through a first opening in the object; generating and applying vibrations and mechanical pressure to the connector until a flow portion of the thermoplastic material is liquefied and caused to flow sideways radially into an open space; and removing the source of the vibrations and causing the liquefied thermoplastic material to re-solidify, resulting in the connector with a foot portion, a head portion, and a shaft portion between the foot portion and the head portion. The shaft portion extends along an axis through the first opening, and secures the connector to the first object.

A supporting unit for supporting a rotatable member configured to feed a developer, the supporting unit includes a frame including a first surface extending in a direction crossing an axis of the rotatable member and a second surface extending in a direction crossing the first surface; and a fixed member including a first opposing surface opposing and contacting the first surface and including a second opposing surface opposing the second surface and welded to the second surface by ultrasonic spot welding.
PUNCH FOR A STAKING DEVICE AND/OR RIVETING DEVICE, AND METHOD FOR STAKING OR RIVETING A WORKPIECE
A punch for a staking/riveting device having a workpiece receiving opening formed on a pressing surface of the punch to make a workpiece, projecting from a contacting surface, that is at least partially introducible into the receiving opening in response to the pressing surface of the punch approaching the contacting surface and is deformable in conformity with an inner contour of the receiving opening; at least a partial surface of the inner contour being formed in a spherical/ellipsoidal cap shape; and the inner contour of the receiving opening having an inner-contour intermediate surface between a rim of the inner contour on the pressing surface and the spherical or ellipsoidal cap-shaped partial surface that is a cylinder truncated cone jacket-shaped. A staking/riveting device, a joining partner for cooperating with the punch or with the staking/riveting device, a device having at least one staked/riveted workpiece, and a method for staking/riveting a workpiece.
HEATING ELEMENT FOR INFLATION AND SEALING SYSTEM
A protective packaging formation device is disclosed herein. The device includes an inflation assembly that directs fluid between first and second overlapping plies of a web material. The device also includes a sealing mechanism. The sealing mechanism includes a heating zone and a cooling zone. The sealing mechanism also includes a heating element that extends along both the heating zone and the cooling zone, with the heating element having a first profile in the heating zone and a second profile in the cooling zone.
ISOLATION DEVICE IN A HEATING AND SEALING SYSTEM
A protective packaging formation device is disclosed herein. The protective packaging formation device can include an inflation assembly having a fluid conduit that directs fluid between first and second overlapping plies of a web material and a sealing mechanism. The sealing mechanism can include a heating zone of the sealing mechanism operable to heat the plies to create a longitudinal heat seal that seals the first and second plies together as the web is driven over the heating zone in a downstream direction. The sealing mechanism can also include a pinch zone that overlaps longitudinally with the heating zone. The pinch zone defined by an isolation element that applies a first pressure to the web material along a first region. The pinch zone is also defined by a support structure and a compression element that applies a second pressure to the web material there-between along a second region transverse to the first region.
COMPRESSION BELT FOR INFLATION AND SEALING DEVICES
The present disclosure is directed to a compression belt for inflation and sealing devices. The device may include an inflation assembly, a heating assembly, and a drive mechanism. The inflation assembly may direct fluid between first and second overlapping plies of a flexible web material to inflate chambers between the plies. The heating assembly may be operable to heat the first and second plies of the web material to create a longitudinal heat seal that seals the fluid in the inflated chambers. The drive mechanism may drive the web material in a downstream direction. The drive mechanism may tension the web material against the heating assembly. The drive mechanism may include a first belt including a high grip material on a surface that contacts the web material to grip the web material during heating by the heating assembly.
ULTRASONIC WELDING DEVICE
The invention relates to an ultrasonic welding device comprising a sonotrode (1) secured to an amplifier (12), and this in turn being secured to a converter (13), on which the head (2) is secured, characterised by comprising an external casing (3) disposed around the sonotrode (1), together delimiting an annular chamber (4) for the circulation of pressurised air having a crenellated opening in the front end (31) thereof for the output of pressurised air and the cooling of the sonotrode (1), wherein said external casing (3) has a rear portion (32) on the head (2) that can move axially, forming a presser plate which exerts a pressureowing to the action of compressible means (51)against the parts (P1, P2) to be welded, in a peripheral zone next to the welding zone, before the tip (11) of the sonotrode (1) comes into contact with said parts to be welded.
