A medical gown includes tie straps detachably connected to sleeves of the gown. The straps are detachable by tugging on them once the gown is donned. The tie members are extendable, upon being detached, around the left and right sides to a back of the medical gown for tying together to form a closure around a waist of a wearer. The tie members may be sufficiently long to extend back around for tying in the front of the gown. A section of each of the left and right tie straps may be folded over lengthwise, a portion of the folded section of each tie member being detachably connected to the sleeves. Once the wearer detaches the folded tie members, the tie members may be unfolded and elongated as needed for adjustably sizing the closure securing the medical gown on the wearer.

A transformable garment that folds and envelops the wearer with a garment body with panels that use origami folding and shape memory alloy (SMA) elements to assist to transform the garment from an expanded state to a retracted state is provided. Garment designs with transformable panels and sleeves can benefit those who have trouble dressing by allowing the garment to wrap around and fit the wearer without outside help. These types of clothes are expected to be beneficial for people with Cerebral Palsy (CP) and also for populations with other body movement disorders and elderly people.

A gown with an opening to allow passage the user's head allowing the gown to rest on the user's shoulders and an opening in the back with one cord attached to the inside of each side of the opening in the back of the gown and each cord then extends toward the shoulder area where each cord is temporarily attached and the cord further extends toward a hole in the opposite side of the opening in the back where it passes through a hole to the outer portion of the gown.

Certain embodiments of the invention may include a garment adaptable for self-donning and for donning by another onto a wearer. The garment may include two longitudinal panels. Each longitudinal panel may be operatively attached to each other. Each panel may have a waistband portion, a hip portion and a leg portion. Each longitudinal panel may terminate with a first and second cooperating and fastening material that may be disposed substantially along the longitudinal hip and leg portions. Each panel may be moveable between a substantially flat open position and a second closed wearable position where each first and second cooperating and fastening materials of each panel may join the second closed wearable position. The cooperating and fastening material may include continuous strips of cooperating materials that may include mating components.

The dry suit is preferably manufactured as a one-part combination suit from a three-layer, waterproof but air-permeable fabric laminate with max. mass per unit area of 220 gr/m.sup.2, and it seamlessly encloses the feet as well. A waterproof zip fastener extends from the crotch to the top of the collar. The sleeves are each fitted with a waterproof zip fastener extending backward from the front edge of the cuff along the forearm. With said waterproof zip fastener, the collar and chest area as well as the sleeves and front sleeves can be opened to a certain extent, providing an effective cooling function, which makes wearing the dry suit in non-critical mission phases significantly more comfortable and less tiring. In addition, said dry suit has a total weight of less than 1.5 kg and is correspondingly easy to wear on the body.

A patient garment configured to accommodate various medical equipment that may be connected to or otherwise engaged with the patient is disclosed. More specifically, the patient garment is a shirt, sweatshirt, sweater, or the like that includes various separable seams such that a patient can put on or take off the garment without needing to disconnect from various medical equipment the patient may be connected to or otherwise engaged with.

There is provided a modular clothing system comprising a plurality of clothing parts, wherein the plurality of clothing parts includes: a plurality of front clothing parts and a plurality of rear clothing parts; or a front clothing part and a plurality of rear clothing parts; or a plurality of front clothing parts and a rear clothing part, wherein the or each front clothing part is shaped to cover in use at least part of a front part of a body of a wearer, and wherein the or each rear clothing part is shaped to cover in use at least part of a rear part of a body of a wearer, wherein each of the plurality of clothing parts includes at least one fastener element, the or each fastener element of the or each front clothing part linkable to the or each fastener element of the or each rear clothing part, the fastener elements operable to assemble different modular clothings through different combinations of the front and rear clothing parts, the fastener elements operable to disassemble an assembled modular clothing by completely detaching the front and rear clothing parts of the assembled modular clothing.

Embodiments of the disclosure include a medical garment that resembles a shirt. The medical garment includes a body that includes a front portion attached to a back portion by one or more non-partable seams. The medical garment includes first and second sleeves on opposite sides of the medical garment. The first and second sleeves are coupled to the front portion and the back portion of the medical garment. The medical garment includes a flap formed on the front portion and configured to open to expose a portion of a person. The flap includes a partable seam that extends along a top of the body and a portion of a side of the body down to but not beyond a bottom part of the first sleeve where the first sleeve attaches to the body. The flap further includes a fastener to hold the partable seam in a closed position.

A garment with a drawstring for raising a back portion is disclosed. An example embodiment includes a main body having a front side and a rear side, the main body including sleeves, a collar, and a slit between the front side and the rear side of the main body; a casing integrated into the rear side of the main body, an upper end of the casing extending from a lower edge of at least one of the sleeves, a lower end of the casing terminating at a lower edge of the rear side of the main body; and a drawstring threaded through the casing and attached at a lower end to the lower edge of the rear side, the drawstring being configured to lift the lower edge of the rear side when the drawstring is pulled at the upper end of the casing, the drawstring being configured to allow the lower edge of the rear side to return to a non-lifted position when the drawstring is released at the upper end of the casing.
