The inkjet recording apparatus includes a recording head, a recording medium conveyance part, an abnormality detection part, a retraction mechanism, and a controller. The retraction mechanism makes the recording head moved between a recording position and a retraction position. The controller being enabled to execute a flashing operation under a non-image recording situation, on condition that an abnormality of the recording medium has been detected by the abnormality detection part, the controller halts the flashing operation set for a forward proximity of the abnormality-detected recording medium, and moreover instructs the retraction mechanism to move the recording head to the retraction position so as to allow the abnormality-detected recording medium to pass through under the recording head.

SPRAY CHARGING AND DISCHARGING SYSTEM FOR POLYMER SPRAY DEPOSITION DEVICE

The disclosed spray deposition systems and methods use spray charging and discharging techniques to assist with digital deposition of spray droplets on a substrate. For example, the disclosed systems and methods have a charging system that generates spray droplets from a spray generator and charges the droplets. Focusing electrodes help to collimate the droplets into a tight droplet stream and, optionally, steering electrodes help direct the tight droplet stream. A charge removal system neutralizes or removes the charge from the droplets, either during the deposition of the droplets on a substrate or after the droplets have been deposited on a substrate.

DROPLET EJECTING APPARATUS, IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER READABLE MEDIUM STORING PROGRAM

A droplet ejecting apparatus includes: an ejecting section having a plurality of nozzles arranged along an intersecting direction with a transport direction of a recording medium. Each nozzle ejects a main droplet and a sub-droplet smaller than the main droplet consecutively. Each nozzle can change a deflection amount in an ejecting direction of the main droplet along the intersecting direction. A control section performs, in a case where a defective nozzle exists in the nozzles, a control of deflecting the ejecting directions of the main droplets ejected from a nozzle positioned within a predetermined distance from the defective nozzle toward a landing position of a main droplet that should have ejected from the defective nozzle.

Mobile robot printing with wind protection

A mobile printing robot includes a windbreak to reduce wind-induced deflection of ink droplets emitted from a printhead of the mobile printing robot. The printhead may have a comparatively large throw height to aid in permitting obstacles, such as particles from safely passing under the printhead without damaging the printhead or cause the printhead to become stuck. The windbreak may be implemented using resiliently compliant sections that block the wind but accommodate the passage of particles or other obstacles.
