PRINTING APPARATUS AND METHOD OF JUDGING NOZZLE DISCHARGE STATE OF PRINTING APPARATUS
A printing apparatus for printing using a printhead including a plurality of nozzles each configured to discharge ink and a plurality of sensors, corresponding to the plurality of nozzles, for detecting a discharge state of ink from the plurality of nozzles, judges a discharge state. More specifically, the apparatus prints, based on print data, an image by driving the printhead under a first drive condition to discharge the ink from the printhead to a first area, discharges ink to a second area different from the first area by driving the printhead, based on inspection data, under a second drive condition different from the first drive condition, and judges a discharge state of each nozzle by monitoring an output from each sensor at a timing of driving the printhead under the second drive condition.
INCREASING TEMPERATURES OF PRINTING ELEMENTS
A print apparatus is disclosed. The print apparatus comprises a plurality of printing elements; and a temperature control unit, controllable by processing circuitry, to increase an operating temperature of a first printing element in the plurality of printing elements by a defined amount relative to an operating temperature of a second printing element in the plurality of printing elements. A method and a machine-readable medium are also disclosed.
FLUIDIC DIE WITH FIRE SIGNAL ADJUSTMENT
A fluidic die includes primitives arranged to form a number of primitive zones, each primitive zone including a memory to store adjustment data, and at least one signal adjuster to receive a fire signal, and to adjust the received fire signal based on the stored adjustment data to provide an adjusted fire signal to each primitive of the primitive zone. The fluidic die includes an address bus and a set of data lines, each data line corresponding to a different one of the primitives. Mode circuitry directs address data from the address bus to each primitive and print data from each data line to the corresponding primitive when a mode signal has a first value, and directs data representing adjustment data from one of the address bus and the set of data lines to at least one of the memories when the mode signal has a second value.
Data transfer apparatus, recording head, and data transfer method
An apparatus that transfers data to a recording head having a plurality of recording elements includes a transfer unit for transferring recording data to which a series of commands is attached in synchronization with a clock. The series of commands includes a stop command for temporarily stopping transfer of the recording data for a predetermined period in accordance with power-distribution timing of the recording elements.
INKJET PRINTER AND CONTROL METHOD OF INKJET PRINTER
This inkjet printer includes a temperature sensor for detecting temperature of UV ink inside an inkjet head, and the inkjet head includes multiple piezoelectric elements that eject UV ink from each of a plurality of nozzles. In this inkjet printer, a controller that controls the inkjet printer constantly monitors temperature detected by the temperature sensor, and controls a drive voltage applied to the piezoelectric element in real time on the basis of a detection result of the temperature sensor so that a drive voltage applied to the piezoelectric element becomes low in response to a temperature rise detected by the temperature sensor.
INKJET PRINTING APPARATUS AND INKJET PRINTING METHOD
An inkjet printing apparatus adopting short pulse heating is designed to output a uniform image without unevenness. To this end, in a serial inkjet printing apparatus, a print head is subjected to a short pulse heating treatment before each print scan is carried out. In a case where a print medium is a first print medium, the print head is heated to a first target temperature before carrying out each of the print scans. In a case where the print medium is a second print medium, the print head is heated to a second target temperature lower than the first target temperature before carrying out each of the print scans.
PRINTING APPARATUS
A printing apparatus includes a liquid ejecting unit capable of ejecting ink, which is a liquid, onto a medium and capable of reciprocating in a width direction (X-axis direction) of the medium, a medium support unit that supports the medium on a support face, a medium width detection unit that detects a width of the medium supported on the support face, a plurality of heating units that are provided along the width direction of the medium and heat the medium support unit, and a control unit capable of individually controlling the plurality of heating units. The control unit controls an output of each of the heating units in accordance with the width of the medium detected by the medium width detection unit.
Liquid discharge head control circuit, liquid discharge head, and liquid discharge apparatus
A liquid discharge head control circuit includes a first wiring for propagating a first reference voltage signal to be supplied to a driving signal selection circuit, a second wiring for propagating a second reference voltage signal to be supplied to a restoration circuit, a third wiring for propagating the second reference voltage signal to be supplied to the restoration circuit, a fourth wiring for propagating one signal of a pair of first differential signals, and a fifth wiring for propagating the other signal of a pair of first differential signals. The fourth wiring and the fifth wiring are arranged side by side. The fourth wiring and the second wiring are located to be adjacent to each other, the fifth wiring and the third wiring are located to be adjacent to each other, and the fourth wiring and the fifth wiring are located between the second wiring and the third wiring.
PRINTING APPARATUS AND INSPECTION METHOD FOR PRINT HEAD
A printing apparatus that performs printing by using a print head includes a first power supply, a second power supply, and a control unit. The first power supply supplies a first voltage to the print head through a first supply line. The second power supply supplies a second voltage to the print head through a second supply line. The control unit supplies the first voltage from the first power supply without supplying a voltage from the second power supply at the time of an inspection of the print head, and executes a process action concerning a current leakage when a voltage exceeding a predetermined first threshold is generated on the second supply line.
Printing apparatus and method of judging nozzle discharge state of printing apparatus
A printing apparatus for printing using a printhead including a plurality of nozzles, each configured to discharge ink, and a plurality of sensors, corresponding to the plurality of nozzles, for detecting a discharge state of ink from the plurality of nozzles, judges a discharge state. The apparatus prints, based on print data, an image by driving the printhead under a first drive condition to discharge the ink from the printhead to a first area, discharges ink to a second area different from the first area by driving the printhead, based on inspection data, under a second drive condition different from the first drive condition, and judges a discharge state of each nozzle by monitoring an output from each sensor at a timing of driving the printhead under the second drive condition.
