A hand protection device for preventing bee stings includes a glove for positioning on a person's hand. The glove comprises bottom and top sections, which are positioned, upon donning of the glove, over a palm and a back of the hand, respectively, and over lower and upper portions of each finger, respectively. The top section comprises a medial layer positioned between an inner layer and an outer layer wherein the inner and outer layers comprise different materials. The inner layer is resiliently stretchable so that the inner layer and the bottom section conform to contours of the hand and frictionally engage the glove to the hand. The outer layer prevents a bee from contacting the medial layer and the medial layer prevents the bee's stinger from reaching the inner layer.

A two-part easy-on and stay-on mitten includes a cuff part donned before, and a mitten part donned after, a jacket. The cuff part extends from mid-palm to mid-forearm and protects the wrist against cold. It has a thumb hole which secures it in place while pushing an arm through the jacket's sleeve. The cuff and mitten parts have mating fastener patches, which securely and removably engage one another. The cuff part can be worn interchangeably on a left or right hand, and leaves the fingers free to close the jacket's zippers and buttons. The mitten part has a closeable slit that provides a clear line of sight to guide the wearer's thumb into a mitten thumb hole. A mitten strap closes the slit and removably secures the fastener patches in engagement with one another. The strap has a tab member which can be grasped while wearing a mitten.

The disposable glove includes a treated area on the interior surface of the glove that extends from the hand area to a portion of the wrist-forearm area of the glove but such that at least a portion of the interior near the glove opening is untreated. The untreated portion of the interior surface of the disposable glove resists glove cuff roll-down when the glove is positioned on a user's hand and forearm.

Embodiments provide a hand covering, such as a glove or mitten, with a retainer for holding the hand covering in a retaining configuration when not being worn covering the hand of a user. The hand covering may include a central hand portion, a finger receiving portion extending from the central hand portion, and a strap. The hand covering may extend generally in a longitudinal direction from a proximal side at the central hand portion to a distal side at the finger receiving portion. The central hand portion may define at the proximal side a cavity configured to receive a hand. The strap may be attached to an inside face of the central hand portion and extend generally lateral to the longitudinal direction. The strap may be separable from the inside face in between a first attached end and a second attached end to define a passageway configured to receive a hand.

Flexible supported glove structures

Glove structures may include front and back portions. A knuckle support assembly may be attached to the back portion. The knuckle support assembly may include a knuckle support member having at least one cutout coincident with at least one metacarpophalangeal joint and a flexible member extending across the at least one cutout. The knuckle support member may have a greater flexural stiffness than the back portion. The material of the knuckle support member may be more elastically stretchable than the material of the back portion. The material of the flexible member may be more elastically stretchable than the material of the back portion. The knuckle support member may be molded to the flexible member. Alternatively, the knuckle support member and the flexible member may be fuse bonded to one another. Methods for making such glove structures are also provided.
