Adaptive printhead cleaning

Systems and methods are provided for adaptive printhead cleaning. One embodiment is a printer maintenance system that includes memory to store defect information of a group of nozzles of a printer, and a processor to determine whether the group of nozzles have a number of nozzle defects that exceeds a threshold based on the defect information. In response to a determination that the threshold is exceeded, the processor determines a type of cleaning operation, a cleaning duration, and a cleaning intensity to perform for the group of nozzles based on the defect information. The processor then initiates a cleaning operation for the group of nozzles according to the type of cleaning operation, the cleaning duration, and the cleaning intensity determined for the group of nozzles.

There is provided an image recording apparatus including: a conveyor; a head; a carriage; and a controller. The controller executes: recording of an image; in a case of performing recording of a same image continuously, recording of the same image, while making a setting to be a first setting; calculating of a total ejection amount; and presuming of a point of time at which each of the plurality of nozzles becomes an ejection-defective nozzle having defectiveness in ejection of the liquid. Further, in a case that the controller presumes that a certain nozzle, as any one of the plurality of nozzles, becomes the ejection-defective nozzle before the recording of the same image is completed, the controller changes, before the point of time, the setting to a second setting in which the total ejection amount of the certain nozzle is made greater than that in the first setting.

A controller determines: based on image data, whether both a code image and a non-code image are included in an image to be recorded in a passing region of a recording medium; and in response to determining that both images are included, during a first relative movement of a head, performs first separate recording processing of controlling the head and a motor to record at least part of a portion of the code image included in the passing region without recording a portion of the non-code image included in the passing region; and during a second relative movement which is performed after the first relative movement, performs second separate recording processing of controlling the head and the motor to record at least part of the portion of the non-code image included in the passing region without recording the portion of the code image included in the passing region.

Data-driven and customized predictive resource replenishment

Current usage metrics are maintained for a consumable of a resource. A history of usage metrics associated with consumable and other consumables used by the resource are acquired for the resource. A predicted date for which the consumable will need a replacement consumable is predicted based on one or more of the current usage metrics and the history of usage metrics. The replacement consumable is ordered on a second date that precedes the predicted date ensuring that the replacement consumable arrives at a site where the resource is located before the predicted date.

PRINT COMPONENT WITH MEMORY CIRCUIT

A memory circuit for a print component including plurality of I/O pads, including a first analog pad and a second analog pad, to connect to a plurality of signal paths which communicate operating signals to the print component, including an analog signal path connected to the first analog pad and the second analog pad, the first analog pad electrically isolated from the second analog pad to interrupt the analog signal path to the print component. The memory circuit further includes a memory component to store memory values associated with the print component, and a control circuit to, in response to a sequence of operating signals received by the I/O pads representing a memory read, provide an analog signal to the analog pad to provide an analog electrical value at the analog pad representing stored memory values selected by the memory read.

Integrated circuits including memory cells

An integrated circuit to drive a plurality of fluid actuation devices includes a plurality of memory cells, a select circuit, configuration logic, and control logic. Each memory cell corresponds to a fluid actuation device. The select circuit selects fluid actuation devices and memory cells corresponding to the selected fluid actuation devices. The configuration logic enables or disables access to the plurality of memory cells. The control logic either activates the selected fluid actuation devices or accesses the memory cells corresponding to the selected fluid actuation devices based on a state of the configuration logic.

PREVENTING PRINTING ERRORS DUE TO PRINT MEDIA DEFORMATIONS

Method and devices for dynamically preventing printing errors caused by a media deformation are disclosed. In one example, a pen to print media space (PPS) distance is measured. A media deformation is identified in response to measuring the PPS distance. A corrective function is identified in response to identifying the media deformation. The corrective function identified is then performed. The proposed method provides for consistent quality across a print.

Various embodiments disclose a method for operating a printer apparatus. The method comprising monitoring a utilization rate of each heating element in a first set of heating elements defined by a print head arrangement. Further, the method comprises generating a utilization dataset based upon monitoring of the utilization rate of each heating element in the first set of heating elements print head arrangement. Furthermore, the method includes analyzing the utilization dataset to identify one or more overutilized heating elements of the first set of heating elements. Additionally, the method includes identifying a second set of heating elements defined by the print head arrangement. The second set of heating elements comprises a portion of the first set of heating elements exclusive of the one or more overutilized heating elements. The method further includes processing a print job. The processed print job utilized the second set of heating elements during printing.
