Medical glove for use when taking a pulse
10390575 · 2019-08-27 · ·

An ambidextrous or hand-specific glove including a wrist region, a palm region, and a digit region. The glove may be fabricated of nitrile rubber that is free of or essentially free of zinc, sulfur and accelerators to reduce allergic reactions in populations required to frequently wear protective gloves. A band region that partially or fully encircles a user's finger knuckles may be provided for easier finger bending. Texturing may be provided on glove surfaces that are used to grip articles. The tip regions on the front surface of the index and middle finger regions may be un-textured or smooth to enable a user to take a patient's pulse. These tip regions may be of reduced diameter and circumference so as to pull the glove material tightly around the tips of the user's finger so that even a faint pulse in a patient may be detected.

Method for preparing biodegradable latex composition for dip forming

Provided is a method for preparing a latex composition for dip forming, the method including: (a) preparing a monomer mixture including a conjugated diene-based monomer, an ethylenically unsaturated nitrile monomer and an ethylenically unsaturated acid monomer; (b) introducing starch, an emulsifier and an inorganic solvent into the monomer mixture; and (c) preparing a copolymer latex by introducing a polymerization initiator, wherein the copolymer includes the starch in a main chain thereof.

The present application relates to a crosslinked composition. The composition comprises an elastomer, a silane compound, a liquid fluorocarbon and a crosslinker, preferably an epoxy silane. The crosslinked composition may be used in the production of any elastomeric article manufactured through a dipping process, such as a glove.

PVC disposable glove and manufacturing process thereof

A type of PVC related disposable gloves and the manufacturing process thereof. The process includes: The PVC resin or its mixture is mixed with a plasticizer to form a glove formula mixture. The films of glove material mixture are formed with the said glove formula mixture. Two layers of the said films of glove material mixture are placed in parallel to form the glove material films An insulation layer is placed on one side of the glove material films, and a beam of electromagnetic waves is applied and distributed along a path of preset contour onto the surface of the glove material films so that the electromagnetic beam penetrates the glove material films and, as the result, the two layers of the glove material films are effectively sealed and joined along the path of preset contour; Or thermal heat is applied and distributed along a path of preset contour onto the surface of the glove material films so that the heating temperature is equal to or higher than the critical point of heat sealing temperature of the glove material films and, as the result, the two layers of the glove material films are effectively sealed and joined along the path of preset contour. Pressure is applied on the glove material films along the path of preset contour so that the two layers of the glove material films are fused integrally along the path of preset contour. A cutting edge is applied along the outer path of preset contour, and the inner part of the path of preset contour including the fused part is separated from the glove material films, while an opening at the wrist is cut, so that a piece of the PVC related disposable glove is formed. This manufacturing process of the PVC related disposable gloves greatly reduces the environmental pollutions and has a very high value for in protecting the environment.

A single use invertible elastomeric article with at least two polymeric layers. Each polymer in the two polymeric layers is a single, pure polymer and are different from each other, such that the single polymer of the first layer is not the same as the single polymer of the second layer. The first layer can comprise acrylonitrile butadiene and the second layer can comprise polychloroprene in an embodiment. The first layer is directly bonded to the second layer with a primer coating between the layers comprising a cationic polymer. There is a method of manufacturing the invertible elastomeric article comprising the steps of coating a former with a coagulant; applying a first polymeric coating of a single polymer; coating the first polymeric coating with a primer; and applying a second polymeric coating; the second polymeric coating comprises a single polymer different from the single polymer of the first polymeric coating.

A disposable glove and a method for making the disposable glove that reduces or eliminates glove cuff roll-down. The disposable glove includes a treated area on the interior surface of the glove that extends from the hand area to a portion of the wrist-forearm area of the glove but such that at least a portion of the interior near the glove opening is untreated. The untreated portion of the interior surface of the disposable glove resists glove cuff roll-down when the glove is positioned on a user's hand and forearm.

A barrier protection device and dispensing system are provided in the form of a medical service or examination glove with sensory indicators that respond to contact with infectious agents or substances. The glove and dispensing system prevent transmission of infectious agents from a healthcare worker to a patient or vice versa.

Conformable seamless three dimensional articles and methods therefor

Waterproof, breathable garments and methods of making are provided. The garments may include a laminate of a seamless ePTFE membrane and at least one textile. The garment is conformable over a range of sizes, and may be shaped to fit numerous sizes and shapes of forming molds. The ePTFE membrane may shrink to fit, or, alternatively, be stretched to fit, a mold having a desired size to form a garment. Such a conformable ePTFE membrane may allow for forming multiple sizes of garments with various sizes and shapes of molds. In embodiments where the ePTFE membrane is seamless and continuous, the garment eliminates the need for a waterproof seam tape, which is conventionally used to make garments waterproof.
