ELASTOMERIC CHEMICAL BARRIER ARTICLES

Provided among other things is an elastomeric article providing a chemical barrier, the article having a layered structure comprising a sequential laminate of: (a) a latex-based elastomeric polymeric barrier layer; (b) a non-reactive tie adhesive resin layer comprising oxo (—(C═O)—) groups; and (c) a polyamide layer; wherein the layered structure has a first side nearest the latex-based elastomeric polymeric barrier layer and a second side; wherein the layered structure is effective to provide a chemical permeation time in excess of 100 minutes pursuant to EN 16523-1:2015 for benchmark solvents of acetone, ethyl acetate and methanol, when applied to the first side, and in excess of 100 minutes for acetone when applied to the second side; and wherein the elastomeric layer is primarily not polyolefin.

Dorsal protection for gloves

An impact damper for a glove comprises a solid convex element formed from a resilient material. The convex element has a zenith cavity formed at its zenith. Upon an impact on the convex element, the zenith cavity enables resilient outward deformation of the convex element, and the resilient outward deformation dissipates energy from the impact. The impact damper may further comprise an outwardly deformable wall formed from a resilient material, with the wall circumferentially surrounding and spaced from the convex element. Upon an impact on the convex element, the convex element engages the wall as the convex element deforms, and resilient outward deformation of the wall under urging from the deforming convex element further dissipates the energy from the impact.

CHLOROPRENE POLYMER LATEX AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME

A sulfur-modified chloroprene polymer latex includes an emulsifier and a sulfur-modified chloroprene polymer obtained by modifying a chloroprene polymer (A) with sulfur (B), wherein the sulfur amount Y in the sulfur-modified chloroprene polymer and the z-average particle size X of the sulfur-modified chloroprene polymer satisfy formulae (1) to (3) (formula (1): 0.10<Y<0.60; formula (2): 120<X<320; and formula (3): Y<0.0025X−0.20), the total amount of a chloroprene monomer (A-1) and a monomer (A-2) copolymerizable with the chloroprene monomer which constitute the chloroprene polymer is 100 parts by mass, the amount of sulfur (B) contained in the sulfur-modified chloroprene polymer is Y parts by mass, and the z-average particle size of the sulfur-modified chloroprene polymer is X nm. The sulfur-modified chloroprene polymer latex composition can also include a metal oxide (C), a cross-linking accelerator (D), and an antioxidant (E).

GLOVE WITH REDUCED CIRCUMFERENCE FINGERTIP REGIONS
20230270192 · 2023-08-31 · ·

An ambidextrous or hand-specific glove including a wrist region, palm region, and at least one digit region having a fingertip region and a remaining portion. A part of a 360° perimeter of the fingertip region is reduced in length relative to the perimeter of the remaining portion of that digit region. The reduced circumference fingertip region is configured to be smaller than the tip of a user's finger or thumb when inserted into the glove. The reduction in the circumference of the fingertip region may include reducing an arcuate length of a pair of opposed sections of the fingertip region. The opposed sections may be sections of the front and rear surfaces of the digit region or opposed sections of the first side surface and second side surface of the digit region.

3D printed impact resistant glove

A protective garment includes a base layer formed from a flexible material. A grip layer is disposed on a first side of the base layer. The grip layer has an increased coefficient of friction compared to the base layer. A protective layer is disposed on a second side of the base layer. The protective layer includes a three-dimensional matrix that has a plurality of columns that extend in a first direction and a plurality of rows stacked on the plurality of columns that extend in a second direction. The plurality of rows and the plurality of columns define a plurality of voids.

GLOVES WITH DURABLE LUBRICITY AND IMPROVED WET DONNING, AND METHODS THEREOF

The invention provides a novel hydrophilic polymer and rubber polymer microparticles blend coating formulation and compositions thereof for rubber gloves to improve wet donning properties for easy application. More particularly, the invention relates to a novel hydrophilic polymer and rubber polymer microparticles blend coating formulation and compositions thereof, and their use on gloves to form hydrophilic and flexible coatings with durable lubricity. The gloves of the invention exhibit good donnability, tensile strength, elongation to break, and stress at 500% elongation.

DETACHABLE BI-LAYERED GLOVE AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THEREOF

A detachable glove comprising at least two layers that are separated by an adhesive layer, wherein the adhesive layer includes a wetting agent, a latex coagulating agent, a synthetic organic polymer and water. A chlorinated detachable bi-layered glove and a method of manufacturing thereof. A polymer coated, detachable, bi-layered glove and a method of manufacturing thereof. A method of peeling a detachable bi-layered glove wherein the method includes (i) pulling cuff area of the outer glove layer until its circumference is detached from the inner glove layer and (ii) peeling off the outer glove layer once the full circumference of the outer glove layer is detached from the inner glove layer to yield the inner glove layer for further usage.

Glove with fingertip regions having a bullet-tip configuration

An ambidextrous or hand-specific glove including a wrist region, a palm region, and a digit region. The glove may be fabricated of nitrile rubber that is free of or essentially free of zinc, sulfur and accelerators to reduce allergic reactions in populations required to frequently wear protective gloves. A band region that partially or fully encircles a user's finger knuckles may be provided for easier finger bending. Texturing may be provided on glove surfaces that are used to grip articles. The fingertip regions on the front surface of the index and middle finger regions may be un-textured or smooth to enable a user to take a patient's pulse. These fingertip regions may be of reduced or smaller diameter and circumference so as to pull the glove material tightly around the tips of the user's finger and thereby applying pressure thereto so that even a faint pulse in a patient may be detected.
