The present disclosure relates particularly but not exclusive to a method for printing in a multipass print mode using a first printhead (PT1) and a second printhead (PT2), the method including printing in a first pass a first image in a first area of a print medium using a first set (ST21) of nozzles (N5-N24) from the first printhead (PT1), printing in a second pass a coating layer over the first image using a second set (ST22) of nozzles (P4-P22) from the second printhead (PT2), and printing in a third pass a second image over the coating layer using a third set (ST23) of nozzles (N1-20) from the first printhead (PT1).
Communicating print component
An integrated circuit to drive a number of fluid actuation devices, comprising a circuit configured to have a memory access state which can be set to one of an enabled state and disabled state. The integrated circuit to include a fluid actuation circuit to transmit selection information for a fluid actuation device, the selection information comprising a data state bit. The integrated circuit to include a memory cell array, configured so that each memory cell is accessible by the memory access state being enabled, and the data state bit being set.
LIQUID DISCHARGE DEVICE AND LIQUID DISCHARGE HEAD
A liquid discharge device to perform recording by use of a liquid discharge head including discharge ports to discharge a liquid, pressure generation elements to generate energy to be used to discharge the liquid, and pressure chambers communicating with the discharge ports. The liquid discharge device includes: a control unit to control a temperature of the liquid discharge head by applying heat with heating elements arranged in divided areas of a region of the liquid discharge head where the discharge ports are arranged. When there is recording data for the discharge port in a certain one of the divided areas, the control unit causes the heating element in the divided area to generate heat, and when there is no recording data for the discharge port in the certain divided area, the control unit keeps the heating element in the certain divided area from generating heat.
Ejector devices, methods, drivers, and circuits therefor
In a piezoelectric ejector assembly, a piezoelectric actuator is attached to an ejector mechanism, while a drive signal generator and a controller are coupled to the actuator. The drive signal generator is configured to generate a drive signal for driving the actuator to oscillate the ejector assembly. The controller is configured to control the drive signal generator to drive the actuator at a resonant frequency of the ejector assembly, and an auto-tuning circuit is provided to define the optimum drive signal frequency.
Liquid ejecting device
A liquid ejecting device includes: an ejecting section group that includes a plurality of ejecting sections that receive a drive signal and eject a liquid; an ejection state check section that checks a state of a check target ejecting section that is an ejecting section among the plurality of ejecting sections; and a check target designation data management section that manages check target designation data that designates the check target ejecting section, the check target designation data management section including a first data-holding section and a second data-holding section, and having a first management mode in which the check target designation data management section updates data held by the first data-holding section and data held by the second data-holding section, and a second management mode in which the check target designation data management section updates the data held by the second data-holding section without updating the data held by the first data-holding section.
LIQUID EJECTING APPARATUS
A liquid ejecting apparatus includes an ejecting unit that ejects liquid when a drive signal is supplied to the ejecting unit, a drive signal output unit that outputs the drive signal, a cooling unit that cools the drive signal output unit, and a power supply unit that supplies power to the cooling unit. The liquid ejecting apparatus has a first mode in which the drive signal output unit outputs a first drive signal of a first frequency, and a second mode in which the drive signal output unit outputs a second drive signal of a second frequency lower than the first frequency. An amount of power supplied by the power supply unit to the cooling unit in the first mode is larger than an amount of power supplied by the power supply unit to the cooling unit in the second mode.
Print component with memory circuit
A memory circuit for a print component including a plurality of I/O pads, including an analog pad, to connect to a plurality of signal paths which communicate operating signals to the print component. The memory circuit includes a controllable selector connected in line with one of the signal paths via the I/O pads, the selector controllable to disconnect the corresponding signal path to the print component, and a memory component to store memory values associated with the print component. A control circuit, in response to a sequence of operating signals received by the I/O pads representing a memory read, to operate the controllable selector to disconnect the signal path to the print component to block the memory read of the print component, and provide an analog signal to the analog pad to provide an analog electrical value at the analog pad representing stored memory values selected by the memory read.
