LIQUID EJECTING DEVICE
A liquid ejecting device includes a base portion, a liquid ejecting portion movably provided at the base portion, a medium supporting portion provided at the base portion and configured to support a printing medium in a printing region where the liquid ejecting portion performs printing, and a maintenance portion disposed in a region on the +X direction side of the printing region in the X-axis direction in the base portion. The maintenance portion includes a moisturizing portion that can form a closed space to which nozzle opens, a cleaning portion that can forcibly discharge liquid from the nozzle, and a wiper that can wipe a nozzle surface where the nozzle is provided. The moisturizing portion, the cleaning portion and the wiper are disposed side by side in the Y-axis direction.
PRINTHEAD CARRIAGE
In one example, a wedge shaped carriage to carry a printhead back and forth over a print substrate during printing.
LIQUID DISCHARGE APPARATUS, LIQUID DISCHARGER, AND METHOD FOR DRIVING LIQUID DISCHARGE HEAD
A liquid discharge apparatus includes a carriage (1), a liquid discharge head (300, 300C, 300K, 300M, 300Y, 300S, 300W) having a discharge port (P1, P2), a first driver (92), and a second driver (93). The carriage is movable along at least one of a first axis (X) and a second axis (Y) intersecting the first axis. The liquid discharge head is held by the carriage and discharges a liquid from the discharge port toward an object (100) in a direction along a third axis (Z) intersecting the first axis and the second axis. The first driver moves the carriage along the third axis. The second driver moves the liquid discharge head along the third axis relative to the carriage.
INKJET RECORDING APPARATUS
A data-generating unit of an inkjet recording apparatus recognizes, based on a detection signal of a recording medium output from a recording medium detection sensor, an open part region that is a region of an open part located in a position shifted from a recording medium detected by the recording medium detection sensor in a transport direction among regions of a plurality of open parts included in an open part reading data read by an open part detection sensor to generate flushing data in accordance with the open part region. A flushing control unit recognizes at least one non-image-forming period in which the open part corresponding to the region passes a position facing the recording head by running of the transport belt, based on the detection signal, and causes the recording head to execute flushing, based on flushing data, in the at least one non-image-forming period.
Printing apparatus and printing control method
A printing apparatus includes: a flushing determination unit, and a storage unit, wherein the flushing determination unit is configured to: calculate a temporary return position, a temporary reciprocating movement time that is necessary when the carriage is returned at the temporary return position, and a threshold value that is a longest non-ejection time during which printing can be performed in a stable manner at an environmental temperature measured by a thermometer, based on print data to be printed in reciprocating movement of the carriage; and determine whether the temporary reciprocating movement time exceeds the threshold value, wherein when the temporary reciprocating movement time exceeds the threshold value, the flushing determination unit sets a position at which the one reciprocating movement time becomes longer than the temporary reciprocating movement time as a return position in the reciprocating movement, and determines to perform the flushing in a return path.
Inkjet printing apparatus and method for controlling inkjet printing apparatus
There is provided an inkjet printing apparatus capable of performing a printing operation to eject ink from an ejection port provided for a print head to a print medium while covering the ejection port with a capping portion in a standby state in which the printing operation is not performed, the apparatus including: a humidifying unit configured to perform a humidification operation to humidify a space formed between the capping portion and the print head in the standby state; and a control unit configured to cause the humidifying unit to perform the humidification operation on the space in the standby state, wherein the control unit suspends the humidification operation at a predetermined timing after performing the humidification operation multiple times.
RECORDING DEVICE
A recording device has: a recording head configured to perform recording on a medium; a medium storage below the recording head configured to store the medium to be recoded; a supply path comprising a first curved supply path curved so as to be convex upward and transporting the medium fed out of the medium storage in a reversed direction via the first curved supply path; and a reversing path comprising a second curved path curved so as to be convex downward and transporting the recorded medium into a direction including a vertically upward component via second curved path from a direction including a vertically downward component; wherein the supply path joins the reversing path, and the first curved path and the second curved path overlap when viewed horizontally.
DUPLEX PRINTING SYSTEM FOR CUT SHEETS AND A METHOD THEREFORE
The present invention relates to a printing system for cut sheets. The printing system comprises a control unit for controlling the printing of image data on a plurality of sheets which comprise at least one speciality sheet intended to be one-sided printed and at least one duplex sheet intended to be two-sided printed. The control unit schedules the plurality of sheets in a printing order. Speciality sheets and simplex sheets in a duplex print job are treated in a special way to avoid productivity loss.
Print head nozzle spitting
A method is disclosed. The method may involve obtaining information indicative of a number of printing passes of a print head to print a swath on a printable medium. The method may comprise determining that the print head is to perform a particular printing pass which is one of: a printing pass during which an amount of print agent to be deposited from nozzles of the print head differs, by an amount that exceeds a defined threshold, from an amount of print agent to be deposited from the nozzles during a printing pass immediately preceding said particular printing pass; and a printing pass to print a swath which is the first of a plurality of adjacent swaths in which each swath has an area coverage exceeding a defined threshold. The method may comprise preparing, based on said obtained information, a schedule for a nozzle spitting procedure to commence before the print head performs the particular printing pass.
